Still going strong, running and chatting as we go Smile

Long slow but not easy run today! Up and along big hill, path was wet so nice soggy feet and legs got very muddy. Dog of course had a brilliant time! Was hard work but beautiful views and podcasts to listen to helped.

Sunny and chatty run with my oldest daughter 😊 need to stop worrying about my calf because it's Absolutely Fine

Glad your calf is doing fine Devil that must be a relief for the marathon training. 10 miles to add from yesterday, a run with DS and the dog. Thanks to Pokemon Go my 9 y o loves accompanying me and dog on runs now, yesterday he hatched 2 x 5km and 2 x 2km eggs as well as catching several other Pokemons.

anglaise Pokemon Go has definitely helped DD2 rebuild her running enthusiasm! The opportunity to hatch an egg is irresistible, although she did suggest I took her phone out with me and she stayed at home Grin.

2 local runs and a parkrun to add (9.91)

3.1 to add, didn't run today as a bit of a grotty stomach and won't have time tomorrow Sad

KeyserSophie · 22/08/2016 04:57

Another 10.5 to add. I went out for a 10k trail run yesterday and although it was hot (c 35) and humid and hence a bit of a plod, it made me realise I can get round this 15k race on 3 September even if I dont do particularly well. Then just the 7k round trip commute to Crossfit this morning.

Also, it seems like the physio was right about my calves. Hip much better from calf and foot rolling.

Anglaise Yes- I've got a few races booked in already between now and Christmas although a few are balloted so need to wait for the outcome. My amazing friend is doing UTMB this weekend. Really hoping she'll do well.

stilllearnin After all the pinata stress, we didnt have time to do them. Fortunately it's DS's birthday next month :-)

keyser that always happens to me - parents arriving and I haven't done the cake thing!

3.5 to add today - I have at last found I can run round the rec I back on to. It is a bit boring and a bit muggy (as in stick to the perimeter even in the daylight unless you want to get mugged) - and it is also bounded by busy roads. But it is at least ok for getting up and straight out there.

First 10k done since injury. 1 hour 9 mins for the 10k part too which for me is a decent pace. 10.6k in total which I think is 6.6 miles.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/08/2016 10:34

I just get asked to walk/run the eggs while I'm out. The signal isn't great when I'm in the forest though!

Well done sirzy!

Had Saturday off parkrun as we stayed in a hotel Friday night for our anniversary and dh wouldn't let me! Sunday we did a car boot and yesterday canicross run was cancelled so I've had FOUR days off! Felt awful running this morning and actually thought I might faint at a couple of points! Still I made it round the route. Lovely not running at the crack of dawn but too warm for the dogs really! 557.91

Did a total of 14k (8.8 miles) today - round trip gym commute and then track tonight. Track was brutal in the heat. 31 degrees. Cant wait for winter.

Day off tomorrow- Yay!

I ❤️ running when it's warm, although envied the dogs their swim in our algae infested pond at the end. It really is warm now, 30+

Sirzy · 24/08/2016 15:13

I hate running when it's warm! Managed an early 5k today tnough but it was tough.

emummy · 24/08/2016 15:56

Good stuff sirzy!

Forgot to log yesterday's run, Tuesday's are mad days here! Did tempo run in the forest, was cool and drizzly, perfect!

We hit 31C yesterday but wasn't running in it KeyserSophie!

Ran with my neighbour Tuesday evening and my usual Thursday morning run today. Everyone else is still sleeping as we're off work this week, lovely 595.41

Sirzy · 25/08/2016 09:37

Another 5k, and this time I didn't let myself pause the gps, or walk, I just ran! Got back just in time to hear dr Hillary on tv talking about a sweaty selfie - I was sweating buckets but no chance would I have shared a selfie of that state with anyone! Grin

stilllearnin · 25/08/2016 09:48

Brilliant sirzy. Well done.

I did 3.7 today and it was really humid. I really need to up my mileage this weekend I think just so I know I can do it.

Sirzy · 25/08/2016 10:10

When Ds is back at school I want to start increasing my milage, I was up to 15k and then got injured so want to find time to get back to similar and beyond. Aiming to do a half marathon next July so need to start building!

devilinmyshoes · 25/08/2016 10:32

Great job sirzy :) Half marathon is my absolute distance! July might be warm though Grin

This reminds me I have one v soon, cinners are you doing the kings forest marathon/half marathon next month?

devilinmyshoes · 25/08/2016 10:33

Favourite not absolute! Maybe I meant absolute favourite?

emummy · 25/08/2016 11:49

Easy paced hilly run into the woods today. Hope the forestry commission finishes their work soon, getting a bit bored only running at one end of the forest! Nice cool misty day

Anglaise1 · 25/08/2016 16:26

Our club training session (with intervals!) was 34C on Tuesday evening Keyser - it isn't often hotter here than HK, but at least it was a dry heat without humidity.
22 miles to add from this week so far. HM in 10 days time, not expecting to do a good time at all the way legs feel tired at the moment.

Another run with my neighbour 633.77

2 runs to add, Tuesday morning just round my estate and then a longer run this evening. Dropped the kids off at their athletics club then drove to a local park and ran around for an hour before going back to pick them up.

DD2 is quite keen for me to join her at athletics but the idea of running round a track dosnt thrill me! I prefer parks and fields.
13.94 to add.
