3.1 from parkrun and 15.5 to add this morning. Was meant to be sixteen but came up short on the garmin - reckon I cut a hefty corner somewhere!

Will catch up later did run with my neighbour and parkrun, really not loving running at the moment and it's making me Sad 381.7

So this weekend I did three laps of 10k at Thunder Run. Was hard but great fun well the sitting around chatting was fun. Would totally recommend. Such a lovely event.

Makes 21.1 miles in total last week makes 402.8

HalleLouja · 25/07/2016 10:56

Cinnamon why is running making you sad? If it is maybe have a couple of weeks off or try some new routes / find different people to run with etc.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/07/2016 11:54

Cinnamon sorry to hear that it's rubbish when your mojo goes. I find a bit of parkrun marshalling usually gets me jealous enough to want to be out there myself again!

emummy · 25/07/2016 19:32

Sorry to hear that cinnamon; I hope you can rediscover the joy of running soon.
Sneaked a 5k during ds's gymnastics trial, it was warm but very nice. Will possibly get the dcs out on their bikes while I run on Wednesday, but nor sure as dd2 now has a temp and sore throat. Fingers crossed! As long as she doesn't give it to me before Sunday's race.

Sunday morning run to add.

Not running making me sad HalleLouja, rather I'm not enjoying it and that's making me sad! Dh thinks it's the heat making it tough and therefore not enjoying it. I feel like it's hard work and I'm getting slower!! I'm rd on 6th lastqueenofscotland but that's between a race Friday night and Sunday morning!

Do you normally take baby with you then karatekimmi? Trying to figure the difference of school holidays? Because I mind even before I had ds3 I've never been able to run in the day.

Been tonight and it was ok, felt better for going but didn't enjoy the actual run. Not sure I could go on my own at the moment.

The heat makes it so much harder cinnamon. My legs feel heavier, my face seems to throb it's so warm, and it is just more of a struggle. I guess al we can do is persevere, run a bit slower, take more breaks and not expect too much. And I say this as someone who has a race on Sunday! Current forecast is 15 degrees and showery, I do hope they're right!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2016 22:34

parkrun was so hard Saturday, 20C by 9am and we have a hill twice (although to you in sure it's a tiny incline) which is in full sun and very sandy! Dogs are struggling, although I didn't take them Saturday.

Maybe its time to take a couple of weeks off Cinners? I felt the same as you and was quite happy to stop for a while (I had no excuse as I was injured). I've started running again now and am enjoying it again, I think I'd got stale and was definitely doing too much. When running is no longer a pleasure it doesn't do any harm to stop it for a while. My foot injury turned out not to be a stress fracture Smile but arthritis on the ball of my foot Sad, so I have started running again and the pain is transitory rather than there all the time. I didn't lose any muscle or put on any weight over my 18 day break from running - I actually enjoyed the time off to do other things!
43 miles to add from the last couple of weeks.

Hello, I have 3.45 miles to add from the sand dunes of west cornwall!

Poor you Cinners - it is a right bastard when the stuff you trust to keep you on an even keel appears to be losing its magic. A right bastard. I sometimes like to swear while running - I find it helpful although not beneficial running wise. The mojo will return but like a lot of things in life you may need to be patient and kind of tough it out. Having a terrible time recently myself and feel like I have never run before in my life!

lastqueenofscotland · 26/07/2016 22:16

Cinnamon I think there is no harm in a good break occasionally! Says me the queen of junk mileage.

A short (2 miles) very fast run to add (6:55/7 min mile pace thought I might die) and then a slightly longer hill session tonight

cinnamongreyhound · 27/07/2016 08:56

Thank you all for your thoughts Smile I'm not sure I want a break but I can see what you mean! I have races next Friday and Sunday and then nothing booked until 2nd October. Thinking I might try to negotiate a Sunday run with dh and my weekly runs might not seem so tough if I'm doing 6-8 on a Sunday Wink the drizzle we have today looks quite appealing to run in!

Ran with my neighbour and the dogs last night 467.45

Maybe it is the weather cinnamon. I've lost my mojo too (although I'm a relatively new runner: 6 months).
I completed c25k and run 5k three times a week now, with one being a Parkrun. I'm not sure if I want to increase my distance or just get a bit faster (parkrun pb 31:45). I've tried 5-10 programmes and hated it plus I don't really have the time to dedicate to longer runs.
The warm weather is making me struggle though, I'm not enjoying my runs and am taking a lot longer to recover, even if I go slower and sweat trickling into my eyes makes them go all bloodshot! I look like hell when I've finished! I hope it's the weather anyway, as that means it won't always be this way.
Tues am and this morning run to add at 6.2

lastqueenofscotland · 28/07/2016 14:39

I think going fast is really fun Ellen so id go for that [grin

Quick pre work 5k today. Meant to do more but have a splitter of a headache today so called it a day early 476.75

cinnamongreyhound · 28/07/2016 22:05

Better run this morning, still tougher than I feel it should be but I didn't hate it! Ran with my neighbour this evening too in the rain! 484.05

0ellenbrody0 · 29/07/2016 19:03

That sounds more positive cinnamon Smile

karatekimmi · 29/07/2016 21:18

I do run with my kids cinnamon I have a double running buggy so they both get chucked in even if it's a bit wet! I have a running friend who works in a school as well, so we have met up a couple of times for runs round the park, then let the kids play in the park

cinnamongreyhound · 29/07/2016 22:12

Sounds like a great plan karatekimmi! I've run down the road with my double a few times when late for school and they think it's hilarious but I wouldn't take it in the forest where i normally run, too many roots! I have one walking as well as two in the double when I'm working. I have thought about it on a Friday as I only have ds3 school hours on Fridays but I'm not sure he'd appreciate it. I have a three wheeler but not specific running buggy.

3.1 to add. Still about a min away from my PB and stuck there but I've put on about half a stone since London marathon Blush so I'm hoping getting rid of that will help.

I went with SIL who was First Lady Shock

3.1 Parkrun to add. New pb - yay!

Feeling nervous this morning, got 10 mile road race and should be in last 15 finishers going by last year's results. Will be a nice route though with nice views I thinks. Just feeling ridiculously nervous this morning!

0ellenbrody0 · 31/07/2016 08:47

Good luck emummy
