I started a new thread. Can't link as on phone and have a heat pad on my knee while awaiting my physio apt.

And on your marks.....

Skoda - headphone yanking is why I like the upper arm ones. Much less movement. I tuck the excess length down my top to stop it flapping and getting on my wick.

AARRGGHH.

Just did first run for a fortnight - W5R2. 5/8/5/8/5. Last run was the 3k fun run.

AARRGGHH...

I must have clicked on the wrong thing but my 5 min walk in between only lasted 2 mins. AARRGGHHHH. I need to lie down.

Next one is the 20 mins straight run...thursday hopefully...

Well done Doreen, you survived.

JellyJ · 03/05/2016 21:19

The Ronhill wrist pocket is quite small but also stretchy. I have the large size and it's big enough for my Samsung S4 mini which is 13 x 6.5cm. Would probably not be big enough for a much larger phone.

ChameleonCircuit · 03/05/2016 23:20

Anyone mind if I pop back in? I did C25K in 2014, and kept up the odd parkrun, but haven't run since.....probably October! Blush. A friend I go walking with finally agreed to try running, so I'm going to start right back at w1r1 with her and see how we go.

I asked on Chat but got no responses - does anyone have one of these?

I really fancy one, but don't want to pay all that for something that's a bit meh. Grin

I don't have an arm strap but have been looking, and there are plenty on Amazon for a lot cheaper than that. I think I'd be tempted to get a cheap one first to see whether I actually like the sensation of having something round my arm.

NattyGolfJerkin · 04/05/2016 09:40

I have this type from Nike (first pic) and then the Y Fumble pouch (pink pic, though mine is black). The Y Fumble is much more comfortable and i don't need the clear viewing panel of the Nike pouch, so the basic style of the YF suits me. Looking at the links now to find the pics for this post, the YF is about £7 from eBay.

NattyGolfJerkin · 04/05/2016 09:43

Like I say, I can machine washed my YF pouch with my kit which is a real plus for me. I don't think the other style is washable (prob sponge clean only).

NattyGolfJerkin · 04/05/2016 09:43

(Sorry for typos)

0ellenbrody0 · 04/05/2016 21:25

I like the style of the pink one natty. Mine velcroes around my upper arm, my DD put it on for me this evening and I was reminded of having my blood pressure taken!
W8D2 done. 28 mins. Was a hard one tonight, I had a pain in my side from early on and very heavy legs. I think it's the heat, goodness knows what ill be like in summer. I was so red that my face was still glowing about an hour later!

NattyGolfJerkin · 05/05/2016 08:50

Yep, the Nike one velcroes too (but it's a more modern sort or velcro, not the old fashioned stuff that got caught and snagged everything). It can be used one handed.

I'm about to start w8. Will go out in half an hour or so, once the school run masses have cleared.

NattyGolfJerkin · 05/05/2016 10:22

Well 8/1 was a total fail. Too hot and my head wasn't in the game today. Arses. Supposed to be 28mins straight but I had to walk after about 17. I did manage to do a few bursts on the way home but not the consecutive 28. Might try again later tonight when it cools off. I don't like failing.

comeagainforbigfudge · 05/05/2016 11:45

W7r2 fail for me as well. Ran about 10 mins then has to stop as people in way. Got round them and restarted but 5 mins after that had to stop again as people piled off bus and the path is very narrow at that bit.

I also was getting too warm. Im not good with heat at best of times 😢

On the plus side, i covered more distance overall. I may actually reach 5km on one of these runs 😂😂😂

Think i need to invest in one of these arm band thingies as my running top is going to be too heavy for day runs 😧

SkodaLabia · 05/05/2016 12:23

A tough time for me on the W4R2 run yesterday. Unfit Friend (may have to change her name) was bounding along like a mountain goat, but I was really struggling. We'd changed our route, though, and it was more hilly than I can cope with. Still got to the end of the runs, but it was the toughest so far, don't fancy my chances of getting through W5 without repeats.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 05/05/2016 12:29

well it's been a week and i am still hobbling quite a lot. Ankle is still popping and very very tight

I am going to rein it right back and just do strolling and very fast walking for a couple of weeks, ds and dh have been dog walking! We're off to London in a couple of weeks so I want to be past old lady hirpling by then.

i am never going to get past week1 with these shitey ankles.

Rshard · 06/05/2016 08:00

De lurking here after reading about all your fab running with a question please.

Did W5R3 yesterday and did 2.5km in the 20 minutes, felt really pleased but made me wonder if by the end of training programme I should be doing 5km by the final run which is 30 minutes?? I really don't think I could run twice as far in just 10 minutes more?
