5 miles with the dog this morning, there was a beautiful sunrise. Then a 38 mile bike ride to Mont St Michel and back, easy on the way there with the wind behind us, not so easy on the way back. I really enjoyed it, not the same endorphins as running but fun. Sadly I can't add the bike miles!

When's the marathon Anglaise? Interesting about the core work. I've been doing a good bit of work on mine (and glutes that are weak). I had a cs with my first so my core was buggered. It's been hard work and slow progress but I'm kind of inspired now it might help my running times.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2015 09:29

4.25 from me a bit later this morning, actually saw the sun come up! But extra as big dog ran off so had to go back and get him, very unusual! That's it for 2015 from me, not sure my personal total but it's better than I expected with having ds3 in the middle of it! 1046.9

thedevilinmyshoes · 31/12/2015 09:46

thanks for the info cinnamon

I think a fellow strider wants to do your club Cani x thing on 23rd with his giant excitable 40kg+ dog, if I bring my best running spaniel are people likely to touch him? He loved the striders summer trail runs and managed to not bite anyone, 100% dog friendly but doesn't like strange people to pat his head or whatever!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2015 11:25

I would have thought most people will be dog savvy. Our club members certainly wouldn't touch an unknown dog without asking and most other entrants will be canicrossers I imagine Smile

6.3 to wrap up the year from me

1053.2

FiftyNineOhEight · 31/12/2015 12:18

We're going out for a bike ride, so no more running miles from me this year - starting again with a parkrun double tomorrow.

What a lovely thread this has been all year - thank you all for your support, photos, stories and advice. See you in 2016!

A final 8.6 miles for 2015 to bring our total to 1061.8

Really hoped it would be a good run today and it was. Paced 5 min/k all the way (it was flat!) and felt well within myself. Has made me happy that my work this year has paid off and think that maybe this 12 hr RTTS in July is possible if I can get a bit more pace.

Thanks to all for your support and advice this year. Echo what fiftynine said - it has been a lovely thread. Wishing you all happy running in 2016!!

suzannecaravaggio · 31/12/2015 16:39

12 miles from me (yesterday)
new total 1073.8

my total for this year is 2054 miles, I've made improvements in speed and running economy but really just happy to be still running without injuries and hope I can do the same in 2016.

Here's to another year of great running for everyoneStar

Loueytb3 · 31/12/2015 16:47

Ahem, I still have some of November's mileage to post and all of Decembers Blush I blame pre-Christmas madness.

November - adding in 25.21 miles to make the November total 1456.19

My December total was 116.33 - including a 5 miler today - making 1190.13

Total mileage this year was 1199.22 miles should have ran a little further today

I am contemplating doing 2016 miles in 2016 as my sister has challenged me and I like a challenge must be mad

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Anglaise1 · 31/12/2015 17:41

Marathon is 13th March custard. Yes, core work is very important so keep at it!
What fiftynine said, thanks to everyone who contributes on this thread, it must be one of the friendliest, supportive and motivational on MN. Thanks for starting it off fiftynine Flowers
I've got 6.2 to add to round off 2015. I clocked up 3315 miles in the year, 14 races, PB's in HM and 10k and a shelf full of ugly trophies. Here's to 2016, not looking to increase mileage, just not too lose too much speed now I'm 50.
Happy New Year to everyone!

Goodness, some amount of miles you have all put in. Had a quick juke and mine is 478. Still 478 more than I would have been doing two years ago.

Nothing to add for today just wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/12/2015 23:13

I agree this is a lovely thread to be part of! Happy new year to everyone, here's to some amazing running WineBrewCakeChocolate whatever may be your nye treat!

Sirzy · 01/01/2016 09:02

Jumping in with 3 miles to start the new year!

Anglaise1 · 01/01/2016 09:13

Not so early 6.1 with the dog, very peaceful.
9.1

Sirzy · 01/01/2016 09:17

I saw one dog walker when I was out and that was it.

lastqueenofscotland · 01/01/2016 11:29

Happy new year all, was going to go to parkrun but was looking after a vv hungover dp!

Will aim to get out and do a wee 5k later today.

Aiming for 1500 miles next year, managed 915 from April- December so hopefully that's doable!

emummy · 01/01/2016 11:40

Happy New Year everyone! Had a lie in - ds didn't wake till 9, his longest lie ever! Lovely hilly muddy run in the woods with dog, met quite a few families, and had to climb over 3 large fir trees which fell in the storm.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/01/2016 12:28

One parkrun with big dog, one with little dog plus there and back so 7 miles total. Very quiet first thing. Good to see you Sirzy!

custardcreamdreams · 01/01/2016 12:40

3.5 intervals. Wasn't feeling it this morning, exhausted after sitting up so late.

23.5

MyBlackCat · 01/01/2016 13:39

6.2 miles from a NYD double parkrun - wish I could run 10k that fast Smile no running for a week now as I am off to ski on white ribbons down brown mountains. Happy new year x

29.7

thedevilinmyshoes · 01/01/2016 14:10

an easy NY resolution - log miles again

3.3 with dogs, felt absolutely disgusting after 10 hours of dancing (went to bed at 7am) but it's always worth a try isn't it. Sometimes it helps!

29.7 + 3.3 = 33

Sirzy · 01/01/2016 14:12

Getting out for a run after getting to bed at 7am is pretty impressive! I was up for the day an hour before you went to bed!

suzannecaravaggio · 01/01/2016 16:38
