4 from me, a bit colder than I thought and short sleeves was a mistake. Had poorly boys all week and I think I may be coming down with it so not planned to run tomorrow and I'm rd at parkrun so won't be running until Sunday, assuming I'm ok! 929.8

Whoops missed the last page and x with KeyserSophie, your post did make me smile! 934.8

Pleasant day, nice hilly run on usual forest route. Usually a very quiet route, but today it was mobbed. Had to stop for big groups of dogs and walkers, horses, some lost people, and even a car! Much fun

Adding 4.85 + 2.6 from Tue and Wed. Shorter run was with DS2 who usually doesn't like running but he has a challenge to get out and do something active each day of the hols. I was amazed he chose to run rather than cycle or go for a walk. I suspect it was because the run took up less time so he got back to his Xbox more quickly! Hmm
Off to France for a week skiing this weekend so that will keep us all active and away from Xboxes

Good luck with your HM Anglaise , I imagine you would just sail through it with the marathon fitness still in place Smile

Too ill to run and a very hot grumpy ds3, awake very early only wanting mummy Sad at least that's it over hopefully before his birthday!

stilllearnin · 01/04/2016 10:02

cinnamon I hope you and all of yours are better very soon - are they on their holidays - what a shame if so.

Am I first this month?! Well, I shall start us off with a less than whopping 3.75 miles. But, but, but it did feel easier as this is the first time I have run three times in a week in absolute months. And, and, and I managed to drag myself out of my newish dp's bed to do it (it is newish because we have rekindled our love after a 23 year break!!)

So 3.75

familygermsareok · 01/04/2016 22:31

That is great news stilllearnin Smile
I'm glad things are looking up for you. And if the flame is still burning after 23 years it must be a good one!

Purpletoes · 01/04/2016 22:41

Hi I was on this thread a few months back when I started running but then with all the password logging in changes got logged out and a bit lazy so didn't re register.

My running on the other hand has been improving and I have my first half marathon on Sunday BlushGrin

I have been running with my local club and have made lots of new friends and have improved my times so PB for parkrun is now 27:31

Am going to read thread to catch up.

KeyserSophie · 02/04/2016 06:37

stilllearnin We need far more information on that one! Spill the beans! I just mentally went back 23 years and my 1993 squeeze is definitely NOT worth rekindling. He used to systematically nick all the straws from McDonalds as a one man stand against terrorism as he heard McDonalds supported Sinn Fein. He also looked like Side Show Bob.

welcome back purpletoes. Glad to hear you're making progress and good luck in the half

Bit of a random run this morning. Did first 5k with a friend and then met our respective DH's and did a social run with them - 16.5k in all which is about 10 miles so

13.75

emummy · 02/04/2016 09:57

Welcome back purpletoes*!
Nice day here, meant to do Fartlek session but legs were not interested! They felt really achy so did steady run instead. At least dog well exercised, leaving her at dog sitter tonight to go to family party down in Fife.

6.2 from me, 5k from ParkRun and 5k yesterday .have started to get some pain in my ankles on running, on the inside just above the bony bit. Got some orthotics as I am very flat footed to give more arch support, although I do have Brooks running shoes (had them for a while, had my gait analysed....haven't run enough in them for them to be worn out yet I don't think) Tried the new arch supports and it was slightly better I think. Still slight pain in ankle but not straight away and went away as soon as I stopped. No back pain or knee pain either, which I had yesterday. Anyone any experience with this? I'm a pretty new runner and particularly to Tarmac, so I'm assuming it will get better with strengthening and experience....

3.1 to add from parkrun, 25.30 ish miles and miles off a pb, it didn't feel that slow.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/04/2016 11:36

doh xposted 29.55

waves I sometimes get that for the first 2/3 runs in new shoes, though I'm a gain analysis sceptic because I run so badly on treadmills, was yours done on a dreadmill or did they take you outside?

thewavesofthesea · 02/04/2016 11:44

It was done on a dreadmill Grin (I prefer that term personally)

lastqueenofscotland · 02/04/2016 13:27

Are there any near you you could go outside, I'm a very neutral runner but I run very strangely on treadmills so end up being told I need super cushioned orthopedic control shoes! Well really my neutral sauconys are perfect!

thewavesofthesea · 02/04/2016 14:14

I'll look into to it lastqueen, thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm flat footed with a tendency to over pronate, but wouldn't hurt to be assessed again.

MyBlackCat · 02/04/2016 15:36

3.1 parkrun miles today, took it steady as had been a bit under the weather the last couple of days and really enjoyed it. I wrote our run report for the first time too. No running for the next week as I'm off to the ski slopes in the morning Grin

Can I join? Back after long time off injured not really meant to b running yet and so pleased to be running again albeit slowly and not very far. I still managed a 5k on my second run in so quite pleased. Was pure mind over matter, not fit at all. Good to be back. I never ever want to stop long term again.

thewavesofthesea · 02/04/2016 18:45

Hello moving! Welcome! I'm currently doing about 5-6k max too at the moment. Hoping to work up to 10k soon

Movingonmymind · 02/04/2016 19:41

Thanks, Thewaves 😊

KeyserSophie · 03/04/2016 07:41

Welcome moves. Just add your miles to the total and bold it, so the next person can find it easily.

Don't normally get out on Sunday but managed 5 miles this morning at a reasonable clip. Trying to push my pace a little in preparation for tackling some shorter races next season.

37.65

stilllearnin · 03/04/2016 08:50

Morning all and welcome to moves

I managed 5.35 miles this morning - which I think is the furthest in a long while and it felt ok at a decent ish pace by my standards.

Details of my newish fella you say? I'm a bit worried Keyser we split in early 1992 and the character he most identifies with is Sideshow Bob!! We were inseparable and unstoppable back then with a spectacular meltdown to finish. He re-wooed me earlier this year by skidding to a halt in front of me on his pushbike as I walked back from the co-op...and we chatted for hours standing in the street.

Anyway... 42.95

Movingonmymind · 03/04/2016 11:13

Morning and thanks for the warm welcome Smile. Guessing from previous posts that this is total sinnce Jan in miles? In which case mine is 13. Trying not to focus on mileage too much as just back from long-term injury and need to take it slow. Building up from once this year to once a week and now twice a week!

lastqueenofscotland · 03/04/2016 12:22

6.2 to add, 10k at marathon pace so nice and steady in just under 55 mins, paced a man to his first sub 55 so that was a nice touch he was delightedGrin
Should really have done another long one this weekend but couldn't face it. Will do 20 miles next weekend then 2 week taper. I feel like I'm cramming for an exam!
