Poor dog emummy, hope he is OK, and the dog warden is helpful.

Sorry to hear about your dog emummy :(

Meant to do 22 miles today tool a wrong turning (idiot) and did 15, and as it was so windy I couldn't quite bring myself to set out for another hour of being battered by it. I can't fit in a long run next weekend is two weeks before the London marathon too soon for cramming in another 22 do we think?
I'm thinking if I did it two weeks before and then took it really gently for the two weeks after that would be ok?

lastqueenofscotland · 27/03/2016 12:50

And 15 to ad so 822.1

Anglaise1 · 27/03/2016 13:07

2 weeks before will be fine LastQueen as long as you taper after. My plan had a long run 2 weeks before the marathon.
emummy so sorry about your dog, I hope the dog warden manages to find the guilty dog (and owner).
A brisk 12.5 miles with a few guys from the club this morning. I can now eat chocolate guilt free for the rest of the day. And yes, Fifty I think I probably am a runaholic. Currently planning a 100km for the end of the year.

lastqueenofscotland · 27/03/2016 14:38

Anglaise I think I'm going to and make sure I taper properly (and drop the junk mileage after)

Anglaise1 · 27/03/2016 14:56

LastQUeen I'm sure that psychologically it will do you good too, it will make tapering easier because you will have done a massive physical effort just beforehand. Tapering is one of the hardest things about marathon training (for me anyway!)

lastqueenofscotland · 27/03/2016 15:53

Anglaise I agree! I don't do the same mileage as you but I'm terrible for feeling like I need to get out everyday. So I think it will do me some good to do it again if anything because I will taper better after!

I've developed a hacking cough since and a real head cold so I'll have tomorrow off and wait for a good ssssion with club tomorrow

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2016 22:09

No idea about marathon training in afraid.

Sorry about the dog again emummy, was it with its owner? What did they have to say if it was?

emummy · 28/03/2016 07:44

Owner was useless cinnamon, dog came at us from 30 feet away, she couldn't stop it ad when it was jumping on and biting my dog she kept saying "it's fine" when I was shouting at her dog! So I shouted that it wasn't fined that my dog had been injured the previous time and she just left at that point while I was trying to calm mine. Will speak to the dog warden today, but we might meet them again in those woods, not sure what to do. Poor dog was scared of every other dog we met yesterday when usually she wants to make friends with them all.
Will try a different part of the forest for next run I think, but that means a 25 minute drive instead of 5 so not doing that every time!
No clue about marathon training here either, might be tempted one day...

A paltry 6k this morning for me! Sounds really short compared to many on here, but it's the longest run I have ever done!! Have signed up for a 10k in July (Great North 10k) which seems like a reasonable aim. I wasn't running at all 3 months ago!

KeyserSophie · 28/03/2016 11:09

well done the waves and the 10k in July looks very doable if you can do 6k now in a non-race situation.

Adding 5 from a quick spin round the block this afternoon. Not the best- screwed up pacing on a hill i run all the time and had to walk 20 paces to get my breath, although I have got a load of crap on my chest (again- love Hong Kong flu season) so maybe that was it. May skip track tomorrow if it doesn't get better by then.

familygermsareok · 28/03/2016 17:04

Your poor dog emummy. Hope the dog warden is helpful. If not would the police be the next step? It has to be illegal to allow a dog to attack another dog repeatedly surely?

Well done waves, that's great going Smile

Hope you feel better tomorrow Keyser

4.85 lovely sunny miles this morning. Kids are off school but are now old enough to leave in house for a bit - oh the blissful freedom!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/03/2016 22:01

That's rubbish emuumy, but think I'd have given her an earful but it's hard when you want to get the dogs apart. Hope you get somewhere with the dog warden. I can see why you want to go elsewhere but she's got no more right to be there than you!

My running plans went a bit awry today, my friend cancelled as she had to rescue her dd. It was then hideous weather so I didn't go, proper torrential rain and strong winds. Then some of my club mates were going at 6, while we were out they changed it to 4.30 which I didn't read until 5! I then had a falling out with dh and I'm not good running with a lot of emotion so planned a shorter route and hoped I'd be ok. As it was it was a good run and the dogs had great fun chasing rabbits about! 851.45

KeyserSophie · 29/03/2016 06:13

Decided to skip track tonight, partly due to chest, partly for logistical reasons as mum here for another week and I'm at work today so want to have dinner with her, but ran to and back from the gym this morning (had strength session early doors so out of the house 6am- ugh) so that makes about 4.8 in total.

emummy · 29/03/2016 11:56

Nice run on hilly route in forest, no evil dog encounters, hurray! Pushed pace a bit, was pleased with time. Weather was beautiful sunshine while running but on the way home in the car it dropped 5 degrees and crashed down a mix of rain and hail. Good run timing!

MyBlackCat · 29/03/2016 14:21

Went for a long run whilst my car had its mot. It passed and I ran 11.9 miles Smile it felt tough but my pacing was pretty good, may need a recovery nap this afternoon Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 29/03/2016 15:14

Sounds like a grey use of time MyBlackCat!!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/03/2016 15:14

Or great even!

stilllearnin · 29/03/2016 20:51

Hi two short runs from the lake district. 6 miles in total and so 881.15

emummy that is horrible - glad you had a better day!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/03/2016 21:54

Got wet today but I didn't mind lovely run with some other humans and doggies 885.15

lastqueenofscotland · 29/03/2016 23:09

Hill session with club - 4 to add

thewavesofthesea · 30/03/2016 17:41

892.85

6k this am for me. Around a hilly town!

Anglaise1 · 30/03/2016 17:52

27.7 to add from Monday. Really good club session yesterday evening, did my 300m intervals with the guys of the club so faster, in 1m09 instead of 1m12. The look on the coach's face when I told him was doing the HM next week was priceless.
920.55

lastqueenofscotland · 30/03/2016 21:36

5.25 tempo run to add from me... Wasn't meant to be but hit my 5k point just off 5k pb (felt slow!) so thought I may as well push it a bit for the last two.
925.8

KeyserSophie · 31/03/2016 03:30

Just adding 5 from a fairly unenergetic morning run. I actually can't think of a single interesting thing to say about it Grin
