I was back on the treadmill intervals today 2mins @13.5kph x 8 with a min recovery. I thought I was going to pass out after the 2nd but settled into it. Legs ache now though.

9.4 from me today to make 46.9. Nice social, hilly jaunt.

And belated congrats to Anglaise and Last Queen on awesome race results

Louey It's warmed up a bit now, thank God, but it was pretty rubbish, constantly repositioning 2 tiny electric radiators to try to heat the apartment while the kids huddle on the sofa like angry cats. I'm off to Thailand for Chinese new Year on Friday and I must say I am very much looking forward to some heat.

Loueytb3 · 03/02/2016 21:34

8.23 this morning. Even my supposedly thermal gloves didn't keep my hands warm. Am not liking hills at the moment for some reason.

Keyser - after my parents retired, they used to head off to Thailand for warmth when the winter monsoon hit HK. Hope you find some warmer weather.

7.85 from me. Tired and a bit sore

Well, I am sloping back in after a long absence. For those who have extremely good memories I had a break when a painful separation got in the way of everything! I am trying desperately to get back to running for my mental health.

So 3.2 miles today. I have moved and so its a new route trying to avoid my ex's stomping ground!

I think it makes 66.18 but open to correction

emummy · 04/02/2016 11:20

Welcome back stilllearnin, glad you're managing to get out and run, hope things are improving for you.

Nice run in the forest this morning, wee bit of snow but no ice today so much more relaxing and I managed to go a bit faster which I'm pleased with, I had been starting to doubt myself! Still not fast, but that's ok with me.

I couldn't find the price for it Loueytb3, I assumed it must be expensive. Otherwise it would be lovely as I'll never do the London marathon, a half would be perfect.

Lovely to see you stilllearnin, I remember your relationship breakdown and I'm glad you're still trying to get it even if you're not always managing.

Had a lovely run with two friends this morning, took big dog but didn't let him off and he's not limping yay! Having a bit of a tough time at the moment and running always makes me cry when things aren't going quite right and managed with only little wobble so not bad. It's definitely a tiny bit light when we finished at 7 Smile

Stilllearnin I hope things are getting easier for you following the separation, but it takes time and you are doing the right thing in keeping up with the running, as good for mental health as for the body.
Cinners Smile for big dog, glad his paw is better but Sad that you are having a tough time at the moment, I hope things get better for you soon.
26.25 miles to add for the last few days, a couple of interval sessions and a chatty run today with a couple of friends one of whom has just split up with her girlfriend who has met someone else, it seems to be the time of year for that. She hasn't been able to run for a while due to injury (she runs 10km in 37 mins when on form) and is really pleased that she is running again to help her get over the split. I'm going to break up this weekend too, new DP is Mr Perfect for me in every way but there is sadly something missing after 5 months Confused
Long training run of 3 hours to look forward to tomorrow with my marathon running friend.

emummy · 04/02/2016 19:39

Sorry to hear that Anglaise and cinnamon, hugs to you both

emummy · 06/02/2016 09:07

Hill repeat session this morning, out early before DS has swimming. V proud of myself - did 10! Was 2 sets of 5 on the plan, never thought I would do more than 7. Ran home with big smile on my face!

3.1 parkrun miles. Course was soooo congested today, about twice the number of last week. Happy enough with 24 mins all things considered

Anglaise1 · 06/02/2016 11:41

20 mile long 3 hour marathon training run yesterday with my marathon friend and 10 from this morning's run with another club friend and the dog. Lots of wind but no rain.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2016 11:48

Parkrun and there and back for me, not bad but chatted in first lap so not as good as it could have been! 147.9

karatekimmi · 06/02/2016 14:53

It's been a while (I can't cope with signing in every time) but I'm back!! Will catch up soon, as I'm sure my sleeping babies will be up soon! anglaise was it you who did Rome marathon last year? Can I pm you for hints, tips, and info please? Thanks

MyBlackCat · 06/02/2016 16:06

Parkrun and a short run after a bike yesterday. Need to do a long run tomorrow, not sure I can face off road after all the rain today so may just stick to the road. 3 weeks until 15 OR race Shock Any ideas what I should be doing for next three weeks? I'm up to 13 miles OR but that was almost three weeks ago, struggling for time at moment.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2016 20:43

Also meant to say sorry things haven't worked out Anglaise1.

Welcome back karatekimmi how old is baby now, I forget? Hope you're all well Smile

Anglaise1 · 06/02/2016 20:57

Karate so nice to see you back and of course, PM away. How is your training going with the babies?
There is someone on the marathon thread doing the Rome marathon this year and she lives there, that might be useful for you too!
Finished with Monsieur Parfait today, he was perfect in every way, he even ran, but after 5 months it just wasn't there. I probably shouldn't be so fussy at 50, I'll probably regret it and it will serve me right. I prefer running with my girlfriends/club and the dog. Is that really wrong??

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2016 21:31

Not at all! You have to do what makes you happy! My dh doesn't run and never will but we fit together pretty well. The idiot forgot his safety chains and dropped 100kg on the back of his head tonight, cut his face pretty bad when it was ground into his bench Sad lots of tlc tonight.

suzannecaravaggio · 06/02/2016 21:34

If you're not feeling it then the honourable thing to do is tell him straight
And you did
Its cruel to string someone along, I don't think you've done anything wrong in the slightest AnglaiseSmile

karatekimmi · 06/02/2016 21:53

Wow, I've just caught up - there's been an awful lot of awesome running! DS2 is 6 months, and the marathon training is going okay. I've been working on my core and glutes - lots of pilates, squats, bridges and kettle bells. I am now ridiculously fast (well for me!!) I did a 10 miler in December - hoping to get round in about 2 hours, would have loved 1h55-1h57. I did it in 1h 46!!! I did a half in January and beat my long standing (10 year) pb by 5 mins, and I made a conscious decision at 10 miles to keep at marathon pacing instead of speeding up so I could have gone faster!! I don't know where it has come from though! I'm not sure I could pick my husband out of a line up mind! Both of us trying to fit in marathon training round each other and the kids!

I'll wander over to the marathon thread if I can find it.

suzannecaravaggio · 06/02/2016 21:56

I probably shouldn't be so fussy at 50
Id say the opposite applies
once you've had a taste of the peacefulness of single life......beholden to no-one, surely you think very carefully before letting someone get their feet under the table!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/02/2016 22:01

I agree, my dad has been on his own for many years and he says it will take a very special woman to make him change his mind about being single!

lastqueenofscotland · 07/02/2016 08:27

Anglaise I don't think I could be with someone who did run. I would find it an intrusion haha
