I think I have done 8.3 miles this week so far. Not sure when I last checked it but it was at least a week ago. 922.7

Well done emummy. Will have a read through the thread.

Did a new parkrun today so my new total is 7 different parkruns. I have done 47 in total. Not that I am counting...

HalleLouja · 19/09/2015 19:12

Suzanne I see you have gone to the dark side and are doing intervals.... Next you will be signing up for races.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/09/2015 20:09

Just a parkrun from me today 925.8

karatekimmi · 19/09/2015 20:23

well done emummy on a new PB.

I was a parkrun tourist today (at one ive already done) walked the first mile with the pram and then when my DH finished he had the pram and I ran the rest of the way (I'm counting all 3.1 miles though Grin)

I managed two runs last week - I joined the c25k group at my club and did about 1 mile (forgot to start garmin!!) and as it was so easy, I did one lap of the block on Thursday morning 1.5 miles. so 5.6 in total for me!

931.3

cinnamongreyhound · 19/09/2015 20:27

Well done emummy!

3.5 from me today, parkrun and running to. Didn't run home as we had a nightmare with results and I had the laptop with me to finish as home! 934.8

Anglaise1 · 19/09/2015 20:32

Congrats emummy on a new PB! Sorry the weather was a little hot but hot for you is probably cool for a lot of us! Sounds like you really enjoyed it anyway.
I'm back from my little 5k trail race this evening, it was a lovely circuit. 150m ascent so not easy, but I came in 5th woman and 1st in my category, 26 mins. The course went through the town as well as around a really steep quarry so there was lots of support on the route from people I knew. Plus a free beer and galette saucisse at the end. Breton haute cuisine Grin
Kimmi Well done on getting back into running so quickly! I was just behind a girl from the club in the race who gave birth 6 months ago. She has always been a good runner and is already running as well as she did before she was pregnant.

family hill sprints are fine, I was a 100m/200m runner in my youth so enjoy sprints. This week I did 5 x 15-18sec sprints with a walk back recovery of around 1:30, I also had a 2 mile run to the hill and then back - does that sound like I'm doing it right? Plan to build up to more reps.

lastqueenofscotland · 20/09/2015 10:59

emummy i really wanted to do crathes half but couldn't make the timing work. :(

did 16 this morning. NOT my planned route. ever had a WHY AM I HERE?! moment out running? that was me today! still a good time fir me over that distance.

Halle, hehe,yes I can see it's a slippery slope from now on:o

10.5 from me

968.3

HalleLouja · 20/09/2015 17:09

976 including my 7.75 miles done at lunch time. My longest run in ages. I did 7.5 miles at the start of June but before that was March. The first two miles were a struggle to get into but after that I could have kept going.

Suzanne go on go on go on. Wink

Anglaise1 · 20/09/2015 17:50

Suzanne I promise you that the endorphins you get from doing a race are....well, miles better than a long slow run Wink
9.75 with the club and dog (not together) this morning.

it's clearly the running equivalent of crack cocaine thenShock

Anglaise1 · 20/09/2015 21:23

Suzanne not sure because I've never tried it, but yes, running can become a drug and races are perhaps the ultimate high. There are worse addictions...

OP posts:
suzannecaravan · 20/09/2015 21:45

Anglaise I can appreciate that in a race you push yourself much harder and so the post run euphoria is correspondingly more intense, and that unless you race you never really know what you are capable of.

But since I am essentially something of a loner who enjoys running alone and finds crowds very stressful, I do wonder if racing really would be for me?

Obviously if I want to find out I'll just have to bit the bullet and do it :o

suzannecaravan · 20/09/2015 21:46

*bite the bullet even

Purpletoes · 20/09/2015 23:20

Just 1 to add from me. BlushWas supposed to be longer but everyone here suffering colds and DH ft up late and we had people coming for lunch so literally a run the long way to shop and then fast walk home with shopping. But enjoyed my catch up with friends.

Well done I the racing over the weekend. And the pb emummy
I can concur that racing feel like a drug as did 1st one in years last week and already plotting for the next one! Even if it's hair to better my times!

runtothehills · 21/09/2015 08:27

emummy fantastic result with your PB, and such great weather too Star Star Star
Karate well done, are you going to stick with the c25k group or push it a bit quicker?
Suzanne well done on the intervals. You could always try some of the virtual races, you can do it on your own but have the challenge of a time and I think some give you a medal runners bling
Purple at least you got out!

7 to add from the weekend, did a lovely run up the Mamores near Fort William. Great views over and around Ben Nevis which I was able to appreciate unlike 2 weeks ago, LOTS of scree!!

993.75 including mine and Purples.

custardcreamdreams · 21/09/2015 14:15

Haven't been on this thread for months and suspect it was a different name but question since I know you are the best people to ask. I did a hm yesterday (my first), would I be foolish to sign up to a 10k two weeks away? I'm fine, little bit sore but muscles rather than injury type. Feel like I need something to look forward to but not wanting to wreck myself either.

lastqueenofscotland · 22/09/2015 07:05

5.13 miles yesterday for me

Custard id go for it!

998.88

custardcreamdreams · 22/09/2015 09:03

Thanks queen I think I just might.

Actually will probably rejoin this thread again if yous don't mind? Try and keep my motivation up during the winter when all the races dry up and I flag majorly.

suzannecaravan · 22/09/2015 09:17

yes we want your miles Custard :)

suzannecaravan · 22/09/2015 09:21

Also I have a question, with intervals, or hill sprints do we log only the miles covered at running pace or is it the total distance covered
Ie the walking and the running? ?

emummy · 22/09/2015 10:28

Easy wee trail run this morning, easing back into things after hm. Next race is 15 miles off road in November, so think all my runs will have to be off road now. Very wet and muddy today!
Suzanne I usually log all the miles covered.
