3.1 crisp and cold but dry parkrun miles from me. Pleased with my time despite having to stop and tie my shoe lace - doh!

582.3

stilllearnin · 14/11/2015 13:16

Good news cinnamon. (I had a big friend on the phone!)

MrsHarveySpecter · 14/11/2015 15:14

Hi everyone. Black from 9.2 cold and wet London miles via the French Embassy to pay my respects. The rest of the week has been the grand total of zero in the running front due to work.

Sorry to hear you had a tough run cinnamon but lad to hear DS is feeling better.

591.5

Deliaskis · 14/11/2015 21:54

Hi all, wet week here, but managed 3.6 on Tuesday and 4 today, so 7.6 for me this week.

Total 599.1

FiftyNineOhEight · 14/11/2015 22:38

3.1 parkrun miles here.

602.2

Purpletoes · 15/11/2015 06:16

Did a jog walk to parkrun volunteering yesterday. Have my race today. Feel like the worst mum in the world. DD almost 9mo woke up with me leaving she was screaming she is bf but does take bottles. We co sleep and there was no consoling her with her dad. My DM is staying so she has taken her. She isn't hungry just a mummy's girl. Please tell me it's ok. I need this break:race even if I am fighting against 60mph

KeyserSophie · 15/11/2015 08:00

Purple She'll be fine. It's not like you just taped some chicken wire over the cot and left her there Grin. Hope the race went well.

Glad your DS is recovering now Cinnamon.

Emummy How was your race?

Just adding 13.5 from today's long run to make 615.8. Have one more week to get some decent mileage in and then away with work for a week. I've been on enough business trips to know that the hotel gym rarely happens and running outside is just not an option on this schedule, so as I'm going to be tight on luggage I'm going to schedule a few days off - I've got a half marathon (road) on the Sunday anyway, so it'll probably be a good thing.

emummy · 15/11/2015 09:41

Sorry about that purpletoes, my ds was the same - still is, at7, still always wants me. She will be ok but it's tough on you. Keep running, for sanity if nothing else!

Well, last night was an experience! 15 lovely miles, the first hill was ok, felt good till about 8 miles then got a stitch and struggled for a bit before recovering. Then hit the last hill, oh God. Still not sure how I made it up, and the reward for that was mud, lots of deep mud to plow through down and uphill! And then the path became a stream, so just ran through the water. Was very relieved to get to the road and then finish. Lovely dh and children came to meet me, they ran the last bit with me which was fun. I was totally knackered and my fingernails were blue! This morning am a bit achy and one of my toenails doesn't look healthy. Phew! Glad that's over. runtothehills probably found it a breeze!

630.8

KeyserSophie · 15/11/2015 11:46

Well done emummy and sorry, runtothehills. I missed that you were doing it as well. How did it go?

custardcreamdreams · 15/11/2015 11:48

Well done emummy. Respect, that was a cold one yesterday.

Dd can be the same purple, she's very clingy and even co-sleeps with me still. Now at 3yo I can sometimes bribe her with 'mummy will pick up some sweets for you on the way home from her run' Grin so it's not a sob fest when I leave. You definitely need that bit of space, mentally as well as physically.

Glad your ds is getting better cinnamon

Still no running here, resting shin. Was dying to get out last night as I love running in heavy rain, ended up going for a walk instead. Not the same though. Pt went over proper use of roller yesterday and has advised trying a sports massage with a pained look and a rather you than me comment.

HotDogJumpingFrogAlburquerque · 15/11/2015 11:56

2.3 from me this morning in the wonderful dreich Scottish weather. I much prefer it to running on a warm sunny day. In fact I'm a summer running hibernater!

633.1

Need to start stepping up the distance soon, I think.

Purpletoes · 15/11/2015 12:02

Race went really well it was very windy but flat. Smashed my PB 58:58 ! 6 mins faster than 2 months ago. Apparently she settled 5 mins after I left. About to have fish and chips on pier then home. Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 15/11/2015 12:11

Well done purple!

14.5 from me. Not very well so probably shouldn't have done it now in all other worlds of pain. Looking forwards to stuffing my face infront of the telly for a bit.

647.6

emummy · 15/11/2015 12:31

Brilliant purpletoes, great result!

HotDogJumpingFrogAlburquerque · 15/11/2015 13:29

Well done Purple Smile

runtothehills · 15/11/2015 14:11

Typical kids, like to give you all the guilt and then behave better than they ever do with you once you're gone!! Well done on your race Purple.

I certainly didn't find it a breeze emummy !!! Last hill was a killer, and the mud was worse than when we did it 2 weeks ago! Brilliantly organised and marshalled though.

I did knock 10 mins off my practice time. Helped that there were 3 of us that kept chasing each other at different stages which kept our pace up. Friend and I came in together 8th females, so was really chuffed.

662.6 (off to join lastqueen with Pizza and last nights Strictly Grin)

runtothehills · 15/11/2015 14:12

Sorry, forgot to say well done emummy it wasn't an easy route, love that your family were there with you at the end Star

emummy · 15/11/2015 15:28

Well done runtothehills, 8th is fantastic! Halfway up that last hill I abandoned any thought of time and decided survival was the only goal!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/11/2015 15:46

Well done purpletoes, emummy and runtothehills! Fab racing! Ds3 cries as soon as I come in even if he's been fine while I'm out purpletoes, proper guilt fest!

4.5 from me, horrible run for a variety of reasons and probably the only run I've ever done where I actually wished I hadn't bothered! Was going with a friend then she changed time so I wasn't going to go as dh said he wanted to go out. We then still hadn't been out all 4 of them where on electronic things, played with ds3 and friend messaged she was leaving later so I said to dh I may as well go as we clearly weren't going anywhere but then missed friend so ran on my own but I'm still sore from whatever I've done to myself so walked some and cried some which makes it hard to run it seems! It's been a tough week but I suppose at least it's some miles! 667.1

suzannecaravaggio · 15/11/2015 17:23

Poor thing (( Cinamon )) :(
sometimes a bit of a cry can be cathartic?
as can running even if you did hate it at the time

suzannecaravaggio · 15/11/2015 17:26

11 from me
678.1
I set out with quite a bad headache which I've had for a couple of days.
The pounding of running seemed to drown out the headache and the run was better than I expected despite the wind and rain.

Headache has now eased off a fair bit so at least in my case running has been cathartic

Purpletoes · 15/11/2015 17:59

Thank you everyone. cinners some times you just need that cry and release.

Apparently the kids were angels and DD was asleep when I got in so even managed a shower before she became Velcro to me!

6.2 from me today forgot to add it!
684.3

suzannecaravaggio · 15/11/2015 18:13

well done from me too Purple!
(I remember those velcro baby days)

McPie · 15/11/2015 18:15

36.8 from my 5 runs this week, got my longest run this year of 9.22 on Wednesday and on Friday I had to cut my run short as I was running head on into sleet! Started out as clear, crisp and windy but 1 1/2 miles in the rain started and by 2 1/2 the sleet started, I was soaked and frozen so turned round at 3 miles and by the time I got half way home it had stopped. I have now ordered a thermal top, hat and gloves in preparation for more weather like that.
721.1

HalleLouja · 16/11/2015 10:34

8.2 miles to add from this weekend makes 729.3.

Got some lovely Helly Hansen running gear from Sports Direct. The base layer is lovely. Not sure if its still on offer but paid £11 for a base layer.
