Another 2.2 miles from me tonight. Did my route in reverse as it's getting a bit samey. I haven't done 2 in 2 days for a while but seeing LastQueen do 2 in 1, I thought I should woman up Grin

182.7

Keyser you're so right, I need to not focus so much on individual runs and look at the overall (hopefully improving!) pattern. And believe that a 'good' run will happen again!

cinnamongreyhound · 04/11/2015 21:54

Just sit them in a quiet corner and you can all run purpletoes Wink. Dh is working on 21st so I asked my mum to have my boys for an hour, my step dads answer was can't you leave them in the park, it's only half an hour Shock baring in mind one of them is 7 months and he eldest is 8.5yrs!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/11/2015 09:20

4 miles from me in the rain this morning, was light about half way through which I'm clinging onto! 186.7

emummy · 05/11/2015 10:18

Nice run in misty woods, slightly spoiled when a jack Russell went for my dog! We survived though
189.7

Anglaise1 · 05/11/2015 18:23

emummy I hope your poor dog is OK after the JR ambush. I have an old Jack, she has never been 'nice' and the evening before I left the UK for France she bit a jogger Shock
10.1 miles with running friend today, in the rain, but it is still really warm.

wtf I've always had terrible trouble with my knees and running in the past, my knees are slightly drawn in rather than facing forward, knock kneed a bit I think?, every attempt I had to give up because of them. I ended up following couch to 5k 2 years ago, fully expecting my knees to give me jip but they didn't bother me at all. I really think it was gradually increasing the mileage by tiny bits that made all the difference this time. I have weak glutes myself which squats are great for but you need to be careful you are doing them properly as incorrect form can put pressure on your knees.

If it keeps bothering you, a physio appointment can point out any biomechanical issues you may have and give you exercises to do at home to strengthen those weak spots.

4.5, couldn't get out earlier in the week as I did something to my neck. Feel like I'm falling apart atm between injuries and illnesses Hmm

204.3

lastqueenofscotland · 05/11/2015 19:56

Was going to go twice today but had a meeting at work I couldn't miss. And couldn't really turn up with wet hair. Can't run till Monday now as away!

4.9 to add

209.2

FiftyNineOhEight · 05/11/2015 21:21

I have found a new way of getting myself out running Smile

I took running gear to work, planned a run at lunchtime but it was really pouring so I chickened out. Got changed to go out after work and there was a big demo planned in Central London so we were all advised to go home early. So went home in running gear, chucked a potato in the oven and went out for half an hour Smile. Only three miles, but three miles more than sitting on my sofa.

212.2

custardcreamdreams · 05/11/2015 21:33

Ah yes there was the million mask anti-capitalism marches on in major cities today. I think they were worried there may be trouble if news reports are to be believed. I tried that once with a casserole, should have been back in time but obviously my oven is not to be trusted and came back to burnt offerings. Potato would have been more sensible.

FiftyNineOhEight · 05/11/2015 21:38

Yes that was it custard. They were gathering in Trafalgar Square, which is close to where I work.

Poor casserole Smile

HalleLouja · 05/11/2015 23:01

11.5 miles so far this month. 3.1 hard fought miles in Cyprus, a session with my trainer and club run tonight. 223.7.

KeyserSophie · 06/11/2015 01:29

And couldn't really turn up with wet hair. Ha ha- I have that conversation with myself all the time- can I get away with wet ponytail and bright red face or not?

wtf re custard's advice, that's v true. When you squat, the trick is "low and slow" (put something under your heels if your ankle mobility is poor to help you get lower). I aim for 3 seconds down, 1 second pause, then drive up. Don't just do tonnes of fast air squats. Critically, when you come up, make sure your knees don't roll in- aim t keep them in line with your feet.

Adding a quick 5.2 to make 228.9.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/11/2015 07:27

Angry men!!!!! My friend I run with on Fridays likes her pauses shall we call them and last week dh was annoyed at having leave later than he'd like. Today I rush her round a bit and stress out driving home as fast as I can and what does he do, he washes the car before he leaves I mean seriously wtf!!!!!!! Not full on sponge and bucket but hose out wiping stuff down, why did I bother!?!? Anyway I had a nice run and quicker than my usual run with that running buddy so 232.9

emummy · 06/11/2015 10:50

Oh dear cinnamon! Sounds like the sort of thing my dh would do, you have my sympathies!
Nice run up hill and through woods today, a bit misty but not too cold.
235.4

Purpletoes · 06/11/2015 11:35

cinnamon sounds like something my DH would do as well. Would love to leave them in a quiet corner although DS at 3 not quite up to the challenge of his 8 month old sister yet! WinkIn fact I can't keep up with her at times. Left the room yesterday for a minute came back to this! Shock

Just a damp 3.2 from me today. Making up for no parkrun tomorrow but I am getting a sports massage instead. A girl in club is in training and needs Guinea pigs!

That's funny Purpletoes! My ds3 is 7 months on Tuesday and he doesn't move at all!

stilllearnin · 06/11/2015 20:39

Hello all. Love that pic purpletoes - some of them just love adventure eh? I have been a bit absent. I am having completely bizarre periods which I am not enjoying and also separating from dp which after 16 years and 2 dc is very sad and stressful and making my brain hurt. All in all ZERO miles from me - but I expect to be back on it when soon to keep the mental health up. Will keep you posted...

custardcreamdreams · 06/11/2015 20:49

So sorry to hear about your separation stilllearnin. I've been through it myself after ten years and one dc, it was very tough at the time. Hope the stresses settle down for you Flowers

What a wee adventurer purple, you'll have your hands full with that one Grin

Purpletoes · 06/11/2015 23:21

So sorry stillearnin hope it settlers soon for you. FlowersWine

Yes a complete adventurer she has been crawling since 5 1/2 months completely different to her brother who only crawled around 9/10 months and walked at 14! Smile I need eyes at back of my head and the arms of an octopus!

McPie · 07/11/2015 00:10

After a very full on October this week has been quite relaxed, 2 runs one 5.7 one 7.2 but I got a fastest 5k and 10k out of them, timing them with school pick up helped on that front Grin.
Aiming for a 7 mile run tomorrow whilst my Twinkles birthday cake cools, I may also have to escape the hyper 9 year olds (MIL visit) on Sunday! Wink
251.5

Deliaskis · 07/11/2015 12:17

Did my 10k, twas ace Smile. As the course was flat it was easy to pace myself so didn't really have any real tough spots. Am still slow, but I think I knocked about 5 minutes off my last 10k which was hilly.

257.7

custardcreamdreams · 07/11/2015 12:31

Well done Delia

Went to a tabata and suspension weight class today so can't see me getting out for a run. Hopefully tomorrow - never making my aim of 80miles at this rate.

custardcreamdreams · 07/11/2015 12:33

Oh and Purple, my dd is the same and was miles ahead of her older, laid back brother. She is still a whirl-wind at 3year old, up to everything and an answer for everything

HotDogJumpingFrogAlburquerque · 07/11/2015 13:09

Well done Delia! Smile

3.1 miles from me this morning. Drenched! And despite my best efforts I ended up with soggy trainers from puddles. Refreshing though.
