31.63 to add from me, including 3.1 parkrun and 26.2 from yesterday. My first marathon was bloody amazing and I can't wait to do it again! Definitely need to train more next time though. My toes are covered in blisters, and I feel great. Really weird!

standingonlego · 05/10/2015 14:08

I like dark and rain too....and sunshine :) Anything that makes it feel more of an adventure !

Anglaise1 · 05/10/2015 17:15

Wrongornot congrats on your HM, very good time, and to Maugrim for your 10k under an hour Flowers
Sorelip well done on completing your first marathon, are you sure you want to do another one as soon as April??
Family Sad I'm so sorry about your feet injuries, what a nightmare, I know how much you love running. Take some time off, do the exercises and fingers crossed things will be better for 1st November. Are you able to cycle or swim instead?
Thecontinualgardener As Suzanne says, just do it...it isn't always easy in the winter, but I feel much better after a run in the wind and rain and cold than when conditions are easier. You'll soon find yourself addicted to running once you get out a few times a week. Do you have anyone you can run with? That can help.
6.2 wet but warm miles from Sam-the-border-collie and me today.

I'm running solo for now. there is a club locally and I'm hoping to enrol at the beginning of the next block. My optimum time for running seems to be about 8 pm and really struggle with other times. Odd :-/ much prefer dark and rain -tail wind is good too Wink

suzannecaravaggio · 05/10/2015 18:05

Family I missed your post, that's a real bummer with the foot problems:( over the longer term do you think different shoes would help?

MyBlackCat · 05/10/2015 19:18

3.4 slightly damp miles from me, thought I as running reasonably fast - turns out I wasn't but I was consistent, I need to sort my pacing out Grin

204.73

MyBlackCat · 05/10/2015 19:20

203.73 is the correct total - would you believe that I got a B grade in my GCSE maths?

lastqueenofscotland · 05/10/2015 20:40

5 dead on for me. It was raining :(

208.73

Thecontinualgardener · 05/10/2015 20:51

I managed 2 hilly miles. Onwards and upwards :-)
210.73

suzannecaravaggio · 05/10/2015 20:59

well done Thecontinualgardener Star
keep up the good work!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/10/2015 22:06

Fabulous Anglaise1, as always!

Salukis are beautiful OhOneOhTwoOhThree but notoriously hard to train and have zero recall mostly.

Well done on the pb custardcreamdreams and your dd.

That's early hols familygermsareok, ours are the last week of October. Hope you don't have to have too long off but better to get sorted.

Fantastic sorelip, I admire anyone who does a marathon I don't have the grit to run a marathon, blisters sound horrid!

Whowouldfardelsbear · 06/10/2015 10:16

Great time maugrim on your 10k. I've still not cracked the hour!

Congrats on the London places for those that got it. For those that didn't, come and do the Queenstown Marathon with me. Look at this scenery here. Go on - just the airfare etc to factor in Grin

I'm just back from a weekend tramping (New Zealandish for long walk] with some friends. It was my first weekend away from my DDs in ages. Had an amazing time but calvess are aching after lugging a big backpack up a mountain. There were natural hot springs at the end though, which made up for it.

Question: Do compression socks help the calf ache? I did 5k today and the calves started aching again halfway through

emummy · 06/10/2015 14:50

Rubbish wet run in the woods, felt sick and had sore tum, but better than nothing.
219.54

RedLentil · 06/10/2015 15:05

224.54 - 5 dead on for me too. I've been struggling to find time since my first 10k on the 26th and various life stuff has got in the way.

Hopefully back on track now ...

Anglaise1 · 06/10/2015 19:40

Thecontinualgardener well done on getting out there last night!
whowould I wear compression socks in the winter for long races, but never had calf ache before so can't really say if they help that or not! The verdict is still out for me. I definitely don't wear them in the summer because I find them too hot.
11,25 dog run and club session with intervals. We somehow managed to escape the heavy showers today!

Hope you're feeling better now emummy.

Sounds like an awesome weekend whowould.

Good job getting out and getting it done thecontinualgardener. I would love to join a running club myself, have been asked a few times by members of my local one. Unfortunately I don't have the babysitters for that time of night. Maybe in another 7 years or so when ds can look after himself Grin

3.4 easy pace miles, sunny roasting here again, 239.19

Loueytb3 · 06/10/2015 20:35

Just quickly adding in 17.3 miles from the last few days.

Today's 6 miler did not exactly go to plan...

Running over Westminster Bridge at lunchtime, trying to avoid a tourist who was jumping in front of Big Ben whilst having their picture taken. I missed the kerb and went flying in the road. Ended up covered in muddy water, took the skin off my elbow and knee and had a lot of American tourists offering me wipes. Being somewhat embarrassed (and determined to finish the run) I declined and carried on. I don't appear to have done any lasting damage but my elbow is really bruised. Bloody tourists! I think that's the last run I do on that route until after the marathon. Fingers crossed there are no more mishaps.

Will try and properly catch up tomorrow

256.49

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2015 21:03

That's rubbish loueytb3, hope it heals quickly. One of my club mates came off his bike at the weekend and has a pretty bad break in his forearm Sad

4 dark miles with my friend and dogs, got soaked in last 1/4mile 260.49

suzannecaravaggio · 06/10/2015 21:27

10.5 from me
270.99

runtothehills · 06/10/2015 21:42

Fantastic effort with the marathon sorelip, family hope the feet are better post tattie holidays. Well done anglaise on you ugly trophy, and wrong on the HM.

Remember tramping in NZ it was beautiful, Queenstown marathon must have a stunning backdrop!

Louey can imagine it can be difficult to get a pace and free pavement space in central London.

9 miles from hill race on Sunday, 5 mins off my PB which along with the PB at last weeks race gave a great positive to the end of the season. Wondering if I should try the scottish championships next year? Shock ? Confused ? Hmm

7 today, slow and steady in the pouring rain. Got quite spooked as thought I could hear a chainsaw halfway round (miles away from any road/other people) but then realised it was the Stags rutting, quite spooky as they were really close, even dog was a bit Confused

287 rounded it up by .01 Wink sure I must have done that at some stage in the rain today!

Keyser any news on how you got on with the sky runner race???

HalleLouja · 06/10/2015 21:54

6.2 from Sunday's 10k plus I did about 5 miles of hills today. Ouchy ouchy.

298.2

Louey get better soon. '

emummy · 06/10/2015 21:56

Well done runtothehills, what a great result. Go for the Scottish champs, you can do it!

standingonlego · 06/10/2015 22:00
