Haven't posted for a week or so, so 15.24 miles to add. I just love running at this time of year - it's nice and cool, but still warm enough for a sleeveless top, and the stars look amazing in the early evening when I run.

So that tales the September total up to 1543.25

Loueytb3 · 01/10/2015 15:04

Just a quickie from me to add the rest of my September mileage, which is 45.62 miles

My left knee is a bit sore after the 22-miler last Friday. I am hoping the taper helps. Only 9 runs left now until the marathon.

Waiting with baited breath for my London marathon rejection mag. Has anyone had theirs yet?

1588.87

HalleLouja · 01/10/2015 16:12

Louey apparently the odds are 18 to 1.

Am annoyed with myself as I did two races out of 3 for a 5k series. If I had done the one in the middle I would have won the age prize. Instead I went to a meeting about the new secondary school which was a waste of time. So missed my opportunity. The over 45 winner was 10 minutes faster than the over 35 ladies winner.

lastqueenofscotland · 01/10/2015 17:36

I've got a London marathon ballot place!!!!!

Anglaise1 · 01/10/2015 17:50

Congrats on your VLM place LastQueen (although I thought you'd already got a charity place guaranteed??) and good luck to everyone else waiting to hear.
10 miles from a run with the girls today. Such beautiful autumn weather and no hunters.

I did! But it's nice to not have the stress of massive fundraising to go alongside training.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/10/2015 18:05

Congratulations lastqueenofscotland!

That sucks Hallelouja but at least you know you were fast on the races you did Grin

I'm so missing a run today! Don't know why only my second day off but I often run Thursday am so could be why, I'm going tomorrow instead.

Loueytb3 · 01/10/2015 18:10

Congratulations LastQueen

Just spoke to DH, no magazine yet. I have a 0% success rate in race ballots (not just London, also GNR and Royal Parks Half) so I am fully expecting a rejection...

Halle how very annoying

custardcreamdreams · 01/10/2015 20:31

Congrats LastQueen! Good luck Louey and anyone else waiting to hear.

Angry at your coach cinnamon. Sounds more like a teenager than someone in their 70s by giving the silent treatment.

HalleLouja · 02/10/2015 09:18

I have to say I am in the over 35s so the slower category but a prize is a prize.

Well done lastqueen!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/10/2015 14:39

4 miles, mostly in the dark from me and my doggies 16.5

suzannecaravan · 02/10/2015 14:45

10.5 from me
=27

that must have been lovely and cool in the early morning Cinnamon I ran under the blazing midday sun again, cool-ish sea breeze so not too hot

Loueytb3 · 02/10/2015 15:11

14 from me in the beautiful sunshine along the canal towpath. If only this weather would last....

Oh, and as predicted - returned home to a rejection email from VMLM Sad

Glad I already have a place in Brighton next year to soften the blow Smile

HalleLouja · 02/10/2015 15:23

Louey all the cool kids got rejection emails. Yup me too. Glad you enjoyed your run. Think I am going to delay my first marathon until 2017 and maybe do Brighton.

5 miles from yesterday makes 46.

HalleLouja · 02/10/2015 15:24

Or maybe Bournemouth next autumn....

cinnamongreyhound · 02/10/2015 16:42

4C suzannecaravan but chilly but better than blistering heat!

MyBlackCat · 02/10/2015 17:02

I too got the London rejection email again I only plan to do one marathon and I really really want it to be London, guess I'll be in the hat for 2017 Smile

Wrongornot · 02/10/2015 19:28

Congrats to the successful London Marathonn entries!

Those who didn't get in should come up to Scotland and do the Edinburgh Marathon, I went to cheer them on this year - would love to actually give it a bash next year but will wait and see how I get on this Sunday first!

6 miles for me this week - 3 on Tues and 3 on Thurs as instructed, got to run with DD tomorrow for her "family mile" which should be fun Hmm

Wrongornot · 02/10/2015 19:29

52 Can't count! Blush

custardcreamdreams · 02/10/2015 20:17

Congrats to those who got a VLM place and commiserations to those that didn't.

Good luck for Sunday wrongornot, I'm sure the excitement is starting to kick in now. What's the weather to be like for you?

4.4 to add, forgot how much I love getting out in the dark, cooler nights.

56.4

Anglaise1 · 03/10/2015 07:35

Sorry for all those who didn't get into the London Marathon Sad. I didn't even try in the end. I'm going to do the Barcelona marathon in March instead. It fits in better with my gîte season and school holidays and its a good opportunity to have a little holiday with friends from my running club.
9.1 easy miles from me yesterday. Probably shouldn't have run 'cos I have a 13,5km trail race at 5pm today but it was such a beautiful day it was too nice not to.

KeyserSophie · 03/10/2015 12:43

I didn't get in, but I entered Race to the Stones as a consolation- it actually works a bit better as I'll be in the Uk anyway so saves a flight. I've been thinking about a 100k for a while, but the ones here are so brutal (3500m+) that they're not really great for a first attempt at the distance. Not even slightly tempted by the HK marathon, but there is a women's one in Japan that's meant to be fun so I might look at that.

Got to do this blardy 23k climbing thing tomorrow and there's a typhoon blowing in so it'll be peeing with rain and blowing a gale. Ah well. At least I won't need suncream.

emummy · 03/10/2015 12:48

Oh dear keyser hope the weather is not too horrible! Rest day today, didn't run yesterday either, instead went with a friend to check out the route of the night race next month. It was slightly less unpleasant than expected, so now I feel a bit more confident. The track was pretty stony though, going to need a good bright head torch I think.
Commiserations to those who didn't get a marathon place, hope you all find another race to do

standingonlego · 03/10/2015 14:54

Commiserations to those who did not get a London place, my facebook feed is full of sad rejection letters....only 2 yes you are in seen so far.

I ran iron run 6k this morning with a friend, lots of muddy fun except my hand is still really hurting from falling into lovely fresh very stingy nettles :(

68.2

runtothehills · 03/10/2015 16:11

Congrats lastqueen, commiserations for the rest Sad

Kesyer hope weather picks up for your skyrun tomorrow, sounds like it should be fantastic. Good luck Grin

Good luck for your race this evening anglaise, and yours tomorrow wrong

Managed to sneak a 7 miles "up hill behind house" route yesterday when my Dsis came over earlier than expected. No run today but kids did a mini-beast race which was a kids version of a local tough-mudder type event that my DH did last week, they got clarrted in mud!

8 mile hill race tomorrow.
