Posted too soon - I have 3.1 Parkrun miles to add which is included in the total of my previous post. I'm on the app so have to write total first before I forget it Hmm

MyBlackCat · 26/09/2015 13:55

And even that was wrong!

1188.7

MyBlackCat · 26/09/2015 13:56

FFS 1188.8

custardcreamdreams · 26/09/2015 16:40

Well done lastqueen

3.7 parkrun and jog home to add. Actually looking at the timings they've got me out by over a minute somehow. Ahh well, wasn't close to a pb anyway.

1192.5

suzannecaravan · 26/09/2015 17:09

10.5 from me

Anglaise1 · 26/09/2015 18:47

Well done on your PB LAst Queen I'm glad all the training is paying off!
I did my little 11km trail race was very surprised to finish first female, 39th out of 81 racers in total so a podium with a big bunch of flowers, a tray of local goodies from the local Mère Poulard biscuiterie and a not-so-ugly trophy. The race was quite tough at the end with a big hill of 3kms but that was nothing compared to being attacked by hornets earlier on in a forest section. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't get stung but they were a few in my hair and others chasing me, it was really horrible. The girl behind me ended up in hospital as she is allergic to them and was in a really bad way. 9.7 miles in total to add.

Anglaise that's grim hornets I think would have caused a major breakdown for me!

custardcreamdreams · 26/09/2015 19:08

Oh fab Anglaise, enjoy all your well deserved goodies. Bloody 'ell, that's one way to get you to run faster. I turn ninja move speedy when I see as much as a wasp come within a foot of me.

runtothehills · 26/09/2015 19:30

Lastqueen fantastic on you pb.

emummy for hill races you end up going on amount of ascent as much as distance. I did a 6 mile hill race today but there was 700m of ascent in just 2 miles of it, my min mile times went from over 16 to sub 7 in one race!! Did knock off 8 mins from last years time Grin Grin Grin and beat 4 people that last year I would have been nowhere near so very chuffed.

Well done on first female anglaise Star

1218.7

cinnamongreyhound · 27/09/2015 00:26

Well done lastqueenofscotland!

Fab Anglaise1, nice prize too!

Fantastic runtothehills!

You can email custardcreamdreams, we had a nightmare with tokens in the wrong order last week, always try to amend if we can for polite people Wink

Parkrun and run there, walked back today. 1222.2

karatekimmi · 27/09/2015 05:54

Second week of parkrun for me, plus a 2 mile c25k run from Wednesday. It was a beautiful day for a run.

5.1 + 1222.2 = 1227.3

dingle the numbers are the running total for the mileage we've done this month.

Well done for all the marvellous running - anglaise enjoy all your goodies, you deserve them after running through hornets!!

emummy · 27/09/2015 10:30

Beautiful run this morning up a hill, gorgeous views, total silence except for birds - and my heavy breathing!- and saw a deer. Could get used to this trail running lark!
Well done lastqueen and runtothehills
runtothehills was that the Morven hill race? Quite a challenge! I see what you mean about ascent. My run this morning totaled 329m of ascent, with lots in the first mile.
1240

lastqueenofscotland · 27/09/2015 10:48

11.23 miles from me early doors - was out while some people were finishing up their night out!

1251.23

custardcreamdreams · 27/09/2015 14:57

I'll not bother them cinnamon, sounds like they've had enough hassle judging by the post they've put up. Lots of people declined tokens, ran over the finish line several times and weren't taking part but still took tokens Hmm Sound a bit, quite rightly, pissed off. Now if it had of been a pb, I would have been politely straight on it Grin.

lastqueenofscotland · 27/09/2015 15:50

just wondering who here cross trains?
I only run really, but I know some people do other things, my coach swears by swimming but i hate it except in the sea (which i live nowhere near).
Was thinking maybe spinning?

suzannecaravan · 27/09/2015 15:55

4 miles from me today
1255.23

Lastqueen aswell as running I cycle walk and lift, I cant say what difference it makes to the running because I've always done those things, running is a recent addition

runtothehills · 27/09/2015 16:20

Yes it was the Morven race emummy. Sounds like a good hill route for you today too Smile. My hips are screaming today so just a walk with the dog.

lastqueen I also do Metafit/FBX, Yoga, Pilates, hillwalking and I ski (downhill and touring) in the winter. Not so keen on the bike or swimming and haven't been to a gym for years. Didn't do Metafit over the summer and notice a difference now I'm back to it.

Anglaise1 · 27/09/2015 18:31

Lastqueen I know cross training is good and I should cycle one day instead of running but I don't get the same endorphins and I can't take the dog. I hate swimming inside too but the sea is too cold most of the year.
Well done on your hill race runtothehills! Am very Envy of all your hills.
My coach isn't speaking to me, I went training with the club this morning and went off with a few others to do the footpaths instead of doing the usual post race shorter session.
We were doing a reccé for the trail race in November and a GPS watch was needed so I had to go with mine...
It was lovely, gorgeous sunshine, lovely footpaths and good company. And my legs were fine.
Does anyone belonging to a UK running club know if the club would be interested in a sort of twinning with a club in Brittany Northern France??
13.5 miles from me in total.

Is it okay for me to join you? Been lurking far too long on this thread and as we head into the winter months I need something to keep me motivated!

I started running in June last year (couldn't even run 30 secs without stopping) and now I am completing (hopefully) my first half marathon next weekend.

Gentle 10km today in rare Scottish sunshine!

custardcreamdreams · 27/09/2015 19:50

I know I should crosstrain but I really haven't the time atm. Did pilates last year for a while and loved it - good for stretching. Was thinking about starting the gym once a week for strength training but haven't got past the contemplating stage yet. I get so bored in the gym.

Hi ya Wrongornot. Are you all excited for your half marathon? I did my very first last weekend and loved it. Best of luck!

KeyserSophie · 28/09/2015 06:36

Well done to Lastqueen, Anglaise and emummy on your race results.

Anglaise and Suzanne, I'm very intrigued by your endorphins. I'm not sure I do get the endorphins at all. I'm not sure why I run really. I guess I must enjoy it but I never think "oh yay, time to go running." It's more a compulsion or just a habit.

Hate swimming, and can't cycle in HK without risking death. I do some erging at the moment which I quite enjoy- I used to row at University so I'm fairly used to it, albeit that was a long time ago. I quit Crossfit classes and am now doing 2 sessions a week with a PT focusing on strength (a lot of one leg stuff and upper body/core) and running rehab (improving mobility in ankle and hips). Plan with that is to me over to a self-train program in 6 months or so. I also do an ashtanga class once a week, which I am horribly bad at.

Adding 13.2 from this morning and wrongornots 6.2 to make 1288.13. Had a few unscheduled days off Sat/Sun as had the beginnings of a cold. Started to feel it in my ears and had major panic as need to fly to Tokyo next weekend and can't if I have an ear infection. Two days rest seems to have seen it off though and I had a nice relaxed run this morning. Am also meant to be racing this weekend - 23k (and, for runtothehills +1800m elevation).

Whowouldfardelsbear · 28/09/2015 07:41

Gosh I'm terrible. Not checked in for ages. I have to add a total of 21.14 miles to add.

I took a day off on my birthday and did a birthday run in a new place. It was great fun and a fantastic way to spend my birthday! Coastal views and a big hill and I got chased by a hoss!

I then got horrible ill with a sinus infection and didn't run for ages, but did a 11km nighttime mountain run on Saturday with a friend (you have to go in pairs - part of the rules). It was the most fun I've ever had running - even though it rained for the second half and we almost got lost. We also somehow managed to get a prize for being the fastest 'local' pair (despite taking 2 hours as we walked up and down the steep slippery bits!). I can only assume that most people entered as part of running clubs so weren't technically 'pairs'.

So that brings the total to 1322.33 and I promise to check in more!

Whowouldfardelsbear · 28/09/2015 07:42

Welcome wrongornot - good luck with your half this weekend!

suzannecaravan · 28/09/2015 08:39

I'm very intrigued by your endorphins
Keyser for me it's a feeling of euphoria which comes on after the run and lasts several hours, similar to the effects of cocaine but milder.
Do you not get any sense of peace and relaxation from the physical tiredness? ?

Dingle · 28/09/2015 09:06

Thank you!

Well I DID IT!!! No training but loads of motivation and support from the ladies I walked with. The pace was slow and I was surprised by the amount of time we had to come to a stand still through the streets of London, crossing roads, waiting for traffic lights, just the flow of walkers flooding the pavements and mingling in with the public on the way. I thought it would have thinned out over the course of the Marathon but it didn't, in fact towards the end I was made even more aware of every tiniest stoppage with muscles screaming out in pain. LOL

It was weird the flow of emotions I went through over the 26.2 miles, and the way you see things in completely different perspectives.

I don't think I will be doing much for a few days now though.xx
