Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Thanks Itsa! I guess I'll try to always do that then.

I wish the warm up was in a separate video somehow. But I did really enjoy it. I loved the short bursts, whenever I felt as if I'd need to give up there was a new exercise.

potbellyroast · 18/02/2015 13:09

Amazon if you're on facebook try putting a request for weights on the local selling page. Bound to be someone who has some gathering dust - plus you can usually pick stuff up the same day if people are available.

Just going to take DS to meet his friends then im back to do fat burner and ultimate fat burner. They're the only 2 I have so no choice there! Feel like I'm going to die just after the fat burner so not sure how I'll manage both!

Lozzapops · 18/02/2015 13:11

I have ordered the DVD based on this thread! Hopefully will arrive by the weekend so I can get going on it! Not particularly overweight, but terribly unfit and a bit wobbly, so hoping it will tone me up a bit and improve my fitness!

AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 13:13

Great idea, Potbellyroast, might just give that a try Grin

TallboyMcChesty · 18/02/2015 13:19

Mind if I join in? I ordered it off the back of this thread (baa!)

Did my second day of it today.

I wonder why there's a warm up but no cool down. I figure they must know what they're doing, though as I really thought I'd ache the morning after but I didn't - though I did know I'd had a work out. Grin

It's not as knackering as I expected but then I did just do Fat Burn and Legs.

I think it's clever because at the end of the first 7 minute slot, I just think - well I've gone to all the trouble of moving the coffee table and getting my sports bra on, I might as well do another one.

ItsaTenfromDen · 18/02/2015 13:22

today's effort, warm up, ultimate fat burner (aka belly wobbler!), abs, stretches

time for a nice healthy lunch now:)

Lizzylou · 18/02/2015 13:34

Mine came just as I had got back from the gym.
Have just done warm up, Fat blast and abs. Really enjoyed it and it seemed over in no time.
Am so impressed with the abs section, that tilt thing is a revelation. I have been doing Jillian Michaels and gym stuff for years now, have never "felt" my abs like that before.

And loving that man's thighs!

PrimalLass · 18/02/2015 13:49

Just downloaded it from Google Play. We have a roku streaming box so I can watch this on the living room tv or anywhere else now with my laptop.

I just did fat burner and it added 1000 steps according to my Jawbone Up. Not sure about that.

Am I meant to do the stretch one to cool down?

MargotLovedTom · 18/02/2015 14:04

I haven't done the stretch section yet, I just do a few stretches of my own at the end.

I got the DVD on Sunday and did the UFB then which was a killer, and I really felt it in my bum next day. Had Monday off Blush but then yesterday did Week 2/Day 2 of C25K and came back and did abs and legs section of Davina.

Today I've just done the warm up and fat burner. Great idea about checking in with little changes but I haven't noticed any yet. I demand to have changes after three days!!!! Wink

SheHasAWildHeart · 18/02/2015 14:07

OP you don't know what you've started because I was looking at the Davina 15 min workouts yesterday!

BeautyQueenFromMars · 18/02/2015 14:24

I'm this '' close to buying the YouTube/Google/whatever it is series. I am like you, stevie - I loathe exercise, and also used to forge notes for PE. My periods seemed to last around 3 weeks when I was a teen... Blush

mice, You must tell me exactly what you did to lose that amount of weight. What an achievement - bloody well done! I'm size 18-24 (depends where and what clothes I buy) and can't stick to anything.

CentralPerk · 18/02/2015 14:38

I bought the DVD after reading this thread. It came today. I done the warm up, fat burner, tone and sculpt and stretches using 1.5kg weights. Feeling a wee bit sore but OK!

potbellyroast · 18/02/2015 14:59

Done fat burner and ultimate fat burner albeit with a 30 minute break in between as my parents popped by. Glad I'd put the latch on the door as they normally walk straight in Hmm

Auburnsparkle · 18/02/2015 15:10

I did warm up and fatburner and am knackered. Thought I was quite fit. I cycle over 10k 5 times a week.

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 16:03

I am loving this thread! Welcome to all newcomers!

I love the comment from the poster who said, "I've gone to all the trouble of putting my sports bra on and moving the coffee table - I might as well do another one" Grin

That sums up the spirit of this thread - let us grab our tuna and beans, harness our chesticles, move our coffee tables and jiggle!

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 16:12

And can I just say, you've spurred me on. I was feeling lazy today, but reading this thread has motivated me. I'm now waiting for the bloody disclaimer to stop so I can start Smile

OP posts:
stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 16:30

Just done legs. That was hard.

OP posts:
stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 16:50

Little Differences:

When doing the warm up my heels can now kick my bum.
In the bath last night my thighs definitely looked slimmer.
Was doing some heavy lifting today and I didn't grunt once.
Also found it much easier to squat down and bounce up again (for work purposes, not just for fun).
Pyjamas felt a bit looser this morning - they're cotton tailored ones I've had for years and they were a bit snug around the hips.

Not bad! Anyone else noticed anything or is it a bit soon?

OP posts:
Moodykat · 18/02/2015 17:20

That disclaimer is really annoying and I've only played it once!

Your differences noticed are very inspiring! Didn't manage to do any before tea but will definitely be on it in the morning!

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 17:24

Writing them down will hopefully keep me motivated, Moodykat

CynthiaRose · 18/02/2015 17:48

It's here!

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 18:07

Get to it, Cynthia!

AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 18:12

This thread is what motivated me this morning. Heard Dp go out and could have easily had another half hour I bed but no, got up and got to it. The thought of doing it is so much worse than actually doing it, once you've done it you feel bloody brilliant (apart from the wobbly legs) Grin

CQ · 18/02/2015 18:13

Another thing I have bought because of Mumsnet.

Downloading the episodes onto my iPad, because as someone cleverly said upthread, then I can do them anywhere and not have the excuse that someone else is watching the tv.

May wander upstairs and do a total stretch before teatime……….

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 18:19

It's just great how it can be fitted into everyday life, isn't it?

iPad is a great idea.
