Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Right have been lurking but I'm going to download it too. I've avoided exercise my whole life but approaching 40 and had my last baby 3 months ago so it's time to sort this body out!

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 20:35

Go for it, Dilys. Forty is the best age to start! (Guess how old I am..?)

Peace for the first time ever I can truly say I will still be doing this in a week. It's just...doable.

Are there exercises for back fat?

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 21:15

I reckon the fat burner routines would help.

What does anyone else think?

CadiM · 17/02/2015 21:20

I agree: the toning workout has exercises targeting the shoulder blades but it's probably losing all over body fat that'll help.

I've just done the two toning ones and the legs (jelly legs now).

HelenaVagBasket · 17/02/2015 21:25

Oh my days. DVD came today and I just did the Fat Burner and half of the legs routine. I am exhausted, can't believe how hard it was but how quick 7 minutes went !
I did get distracted by the guys arms and legs though...

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 21:47

They are distracting, Helena...

Well done!

Have been watching thread and inspired by it! DVD arrived today and I've just tried on my new sports bra. If I can motivate myself in the morning I'll be up and doing it!
Is there a warm up at the start of each of the sections? What about cooling down?

Moodykat · 18/02/2015 07:14

Well, I got up and did it! I now see the format! Just did warm up and fat burner as I'm short on time but it was fab!
Now just to see if I can keep going with it!

AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 07:30

I've just done my first session Grin think I'll need to turn the heating off now!

Loved it! It's very bizarre to be so active this early but I'll get used to it.

Did the warm up first which is about 3 mins? added on to the overall total
But it's recommended that you warm up first. I then did the leg session. It's very doable, bloody lunges get me every time though, I'm a big wobble stick but hopefully as my legs become primed, pumped up machines this won't bother me.

Same time tomorrow Davina!

AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 07:34

Oh and I used a tin of beans as my weight for now, need to get weights Blush

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 07:44

Woohoo, MoodyKat and Amazon!
I'm impressed and still in bed Blush

So glad you like it, Amazon. I might have a go at legs today. Mine look like they belong to a pit pony.

I think I'll be doing it in the afternoon today though as I'm up and out this morning.

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 07:47

Oh, and according to DP who knows about this stuff, it's strengthening your core that will stop you wobbling. So doing the abs stuff, I reckon will help with the legs stuff.

Sorry to get all technical again Grin

OP posts:
AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 08:18

Keep the technical stuff coming, it's good to know these things. Might sneak an Abs sesh in tonight!

I know weights have been mentioned before but can you tell me which ones you've ordered to replace the tuna?

Will be back on here in a bit, just on my way to work with legs which are asking me what just happened! Grin

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 08:23

I ordered a set that included 1.5 kg, 2.5 kg and 5kg. I think.

Then I cancelled it after I found some 2.5 kg hand weights in John Lewis that were really cheap. Once I'd felt the 2.5kg, I knew anything heavier would gather dust.

Oooh on Itunes you have an option to buy it in HD or SD. If you click on SD the price of the whole video goes down to £9.99 and the individual videos go down to £1.89 from £2.49.

Moodykat · 18/02/2015 09:06

I really enjoyed it too. It's so nice as because it's so short it doesn't put you off like some other dvds do, am just sat here at work thinking maybe I could sneak in the abs before tea tonight.

I'm quite looking forward to the website too, when it gets going!

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 09:27

Ooh, I didn't know about a website!

OP posts:
Moodykat · 18/02/2015 09:51

www.getfitwithdavina.com - there was a leaflet in the dvd case. Could be interesting!

CookieMonster101 · 18/02/2015 11:01

Can I join please? I was really motivated by this and bought it on itunes. About to give it a go once it has downloaded completely. I do have the shred dvd but I am so unfit at the moment I wanted to start with something less frightening. I joined slimming world a few weeks ago as well and am very slowly losing weight but I think I need exercise to boost it, especially as I am still finding it hard to not binge on treats.

stevienickstophat · 18/02/2015 11:24

Welcome, Cookie! Grab your tuna!

OP posts:
CookieMonster101 · 18/02/2015 12:11

I didn't have any tuna so I grabbed beans. However, I don't think they were heavy enough. Will have to do for now, or I might fill up some water bottles.

I am ashamed to say that I did the fat burner and was then really really out of breath. I should have done another one I guess but I couldn't so I did the ultimate stretch which was lovely.

If I don't do the ultimate stretch is there any other cool down or is that it?

ItsaTenfromDen · 18/02/2015 12:14

Well after two days the legs are letting me know they're there! Ouch

Just about to start day three, going to tackle something new today, not sure what till I switch it on:)

Will be back later to report in:)

I used a tin of soup, finding the weights means walking up two flights of stairs, that's a step too far when faced with the dvd:)

ItsaTenfromDen · 18/02/2015 12:15

Cookie I've used the stretch section as a cool down, not that I'm an exercise expert:)

AmazonGrace · 18/02/2015 12:50

Thanks Stevie, it's good to know the weights you're using, might have a look on ebay.
