Bloody hell - that 7 min Davina exercise DVD

It works!

I've been at it a week. Before that, did fuck all exercise for YEARS. Ended up with a bad knee every time I tried running etc so gave up.

This was a last ditch attempt to stop my body basically falling off, and I was attracted by the fact it would all be done in seven minutes and at least I could tell myself I'd done something.

It actually frigging works.

(Promise I don't work for Davina. Booble plate, river of sweetcorn, cube of poo, pombears, elderly Korean lady.)

But if there is anyone who was like me, who hates exercise and just generally CBA with gyms etc, this is cracking.

Not sure, withasponge. Maybe showy could advise?

Thank you OP. I'd been thinking about this DVD for a while but wasn't sure it was right for me. Have gone through 30 Day Shred & 6 Weeks Abs & noticed a difference with both. But as a full-time working single mum I found it hard to fit it in and got a bit bored with doing same routines. I did Fat Burner & Total Stretch from the Davina DVD today and loved it! Been searching for a 'stretch' routine because I am sat at a PC for 7 hours a day, I will be doing this everyday as a 'cool down'. Enough episodes to mix them up everyday and the length was perfect! So thank you, I'm feeling happy after a very tiring day ;)

Well, I did it. Fat burner, tone and stretch, boxercise and started abs but DD kept climbing on my back when I was doing the plank so cited health and safety and gave up. Now can barely move legs at all Grin

One thing that's pissing me off are Davina's abs. How the fuck that woman has given birth to children is beyond me.

stevienickstophat · 16/02/2015 19:55

Well done you two!

I know what you mean, re: Dav's abs. Three kids! Three!

Ok guys you've got me. Bought first one on iTunes and did the abs one last night.

Massively overweight but lost 19lbs on 5:2 since the start of year and now need to introduce some exercise. 5st plus to lose.

I'm up for posting noticeable changes when I get them. Just off to do abs one again - skint til payday, and stuff planned for kids in holidays so need to keep the pennies for that. So repeating abs will have to do for now.

potbellyroast · 16/02/2015 20:37

I tell a lie. It was fat burner.

Just done it again and felt I could push myself a little bit further tonight Grin

GiveMummyTheWhizzer · 16/02/2015 21:10

DVD came today, just done fat burner, box fit, tone and burn and stretch. Enjoyed it but pooped now! Not bad for someone needing to lose 5st+!

stevienickstophat · 16/02/2015 21:18

Wow, you're all doing brilliantly.

I love the way the word 'enjoyed' is coming up a lot in posts Smile

That's what we need - to enjoy ourselves!

Thanks for this thread OP, was considering buying and have just taken the plunge. Got a few stone to lose, and decided enough is enough- don't feel like myself anymore since pregnancy, and can't blame baby weight now DS is 3!

Am struggling with a stressful job, shift working partner, non sleeping toddler and degree as well, but even I can find less than 20 mins a day for exercise. Hoping this thread will be my virtual personal trainer!

Stevie - I didn't do it yesterday. I have no excuse, but wanted to check in on here and continue to read the support and encouragement you are giving everyone in the hope I find time to do it today!

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 08:04

You'll get there when you're ready, toast

You've made the decision to start. That's a big step!

Good for you, penguin - sounds like you need to do something 'just for you'.

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 08:06

Right, today I'm going for UFB and abs again. Nearly killer yesterday so I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully it'll be a bit easier today.

I can now feel smug for the day!

Well after yesterdays first session I can honestly feel it in the thighs this morning. Obviously works bits I don't use on a usual day.

Today I'm planning on warm up, the boxing bit, can't remember what it's called and the stretches. If I don't feel too bad I may stick another one in, but will be happy with just the three sections if it's all I can manage

I really am unfit.

BakingWithToddlerand3YO · 17/02/2015 11:09

Just ordered it after reading whole thread and feeling inspired by you all.

I'm bigger than I've ever been and have decided that this year is my year to get healthy and firm up the wobbly bits. I've hated exercise since PE at school. I've joined a women only gym that has a circuit system so a full workout takes 30 minutes with two minutes on each station so I don't get bored or give up because it is too hard. I'm actually enjoying my gym sessions but can't go as often as I'd like due to a four and two year old plus part time job. Davina 7 minutes sounds perfect. It's arriving tomorrow. Wish me luck!

gobbin · 17/02/2015 11:35

Bought it yday after reading this thread and did the Warm up and Fat burner this morning. Bloody hell, ten mins total was enough, I am sooo unfit. Did it in my slippers, jeans and t shirt with a tin for a weight, so didn't need anything special to get started.

But, do you know, I went upstairs for something afterwards and I almost floated up. Amazing how such a small burst of activity can give you a boost.

stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 11:36

Good luck, baking and well done, den!

Aches are a good sign - shows things are moving!

OP posts:
stevienickstophat · 17/02/2015 11:53

It really does, Gobbin. That's the main thing for me.

Mcnorton · 17/02/2015 12:17

Right, I bought it on Google Play (so I wasn't restricted to a room with a dvd player) and snuck off to do the fatburner one in the bedroom while DH cooked tea and DS watched telly (I didn't want an audience so i didn't tell them - DS likes to help). I only have a tiny bit of space but it was fine. Later I went for a 20 min run and today my legs ache. They don't normally ache after a run so the combination must do it. I wouldn't normally do both on the same day it was over-enthusiasm. Will see how it goes with just Davina tonight!

PlumpingUpPartridge · 17/02/2015 12:29

Godammit, I've gone and bought it now.

Sitting at home recovering from 24h D&V so hopefully that has given me a head start on the weight loss bit Grin

ItsaTenfromDen · 17/02/2015 13:19

Just reporting back, done my stint for today, warm up, box fit, stretches and a little jog on the spot for ten mins:)

trulymadlydeeply · 17/02/2015 13:37

Oh, go on then, Stevie. I bought one off iTunes yesterday because you were so excited by it. 50 this year and need to do SOMETHING ...

Tried the fat burner and the abs one straight away in a fit of uber-positivity, and felt quivery all day yesterday, and am aching like Hell today! Let's hope this means it's working. Too achey to do anything today but will report back.

Great to be on a positive, let's-all-DO-this thread. Grin
