Following on from ErrolTheDragon's October Shred thread:

Another month, another chance to start/restart/continue the 30 Day Shred, or similar - ripped in 30, NMTZ, whatever your preferred form of torture exercise with Jillian you're welcome here for support, advice and motivation!

30 day shred - Level 3 day 3 done and a lot easier today! used a yoga mat which I think has made a world of difference and my elbows are very grateful for.

Thanks for the welcome! I had excused myself today as not having time but reading all the hellos made me want to make time and I managed to fit it in after all, so Level 1 day 7 done.

Hi queenbee Smile

Does anyone else find the cool down difficult Blush

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 27/11/2013 17:30

Well done giraffes! I not only find the cool down difficult but I don't find it very effective. I carry on stretching for another 5 minutes after she's finished.

giraffeseatpineapples · 27/11/2013 18:29

what kind of stretches do you do faith ?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 27/11/2013 19:14

I do as she suggests but when they get up I stay on the floor I kneel and tuck my head in and stretch my back. I do my quads for longer, then I stretch my calves out (bend front knee and straighten back leg) and I lean to one side (bend one leg and straighten the other). Otherwise I find I'm a bit tense!

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2013 20:41

The quad stretch is impossible to do properly unless you hold on to furniture or suchlike - which she tells you in L2 but for some reason forgot in the L1. So I have to tell everyone instead! Grin

I prefer the stretches in Ri30, which are done standing which works better for me, and which include triceps stretch - its here, a little after the 33 minute mark.

giraffeseatpineapples · 27/11/2013 23:16

will check that out (I have ripped in 30) thanks both. To be honest the bit i find hard is sitting up with hands behind my back Confused

So ... what should i do, i gave 30ds to my sister but she disagrees, maybe she is right and its just lost. Should I spend £5 and get another copy or move to ri30 and just knock off the last ten minutes bar cool down? I have been using you tube for level 1 but looks as though later levels aren't on there?

ErrolTheDragon · 27/11/2013 23:29

Oh, I find that with the arms easy - my arms are quite double-jointed which probably helps. Try it standing and see if its any easier.

I think the moves in Ri30 are harder - quite a lot of balancing on one leg so unless you're a natural flamingo they're quite tricky. Its the same 3 circuit format, I don't really watch the clock, it doesn't seem significantly longer. TBH I'd shell out the fiver again for shred - and then whenever the original turns up, you and your sister will each have one and can nag compete Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 28/11/2013 09:27

L4D6 of Ri30 done.

WillColbert · 28/11/2013 09:56

Great to hear that everyone is getting on well.

Queen Bee (welcome!) - I agree with the others that shredding has made a noticeable difference and I feel fitter and more toned (especially legs, arms & waist). It's not a quick fix for me though - on my second time around and still have a jelly belly (though it has definitely improved).

L2D6 done and another bra lost to the shred. I wear a Bravissimo sports bra which served me well for running but this is the second one where the underwire has popped out during the shred. Can anyone recommend a new one?

ErrolTheDragon · 28/11/2013 10:46

I've got a Shock Absorber, which is holding up well (in all senses) - no underwires.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 28/11/2013 11:36

L1D3 done. I have a double bra system for the Shred, sports bra underneath (an old m&s one) with a maternity one over the top. Seems to keep the goods in place.
Has anyone else ever noticed Natalie cheating? Tickles me every time!

giraffeseatpineapples · 28/11/2013 21:29

Freya sports bras - really good support but without making me feel like I can't breath, and it has no underwires.

No shred today. Plan to do a pre breakfast shred tomorrow but all depends on how dc behave!

deeplybaffled · 28/11/2013 21:30

L1D5 done. I wonder if there is a point when the push ups get easier? This is my second time round and they are still the work of the devil! I wonder if she puts them first deliberately to make the strength bits later seem easier?

giraffeseatpineapples · 28/11/2013 21:48

I find the push ups hard too but I am a tiny bit better at them now.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/11/2013 22:05

I still can't do full push ups. But I couldn't even do knee ones when I started.

deeplybaffled · 28/11/2013 22:20

Oh, I never claimed to be able to do full push ups! Ironically, I found the travelling full ones in the later stage semi ok last time round, wonder if that minor miracle will be sustained.....can't remember if they are L2 or L3?

conquita · 29/11/2013 05:44

L3 has the travelling push ups deeply, believe me I know!! Smile

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 29/11/2013 08:11

I'm still wearing 2 bras, at a time, but need to go bra shopping really soon, I've lost almost 3 inches from my ribs so even the ones I was squeezing in to are now loose.

I've heard great things about the Shock Absorber, are they available in department stores?

I really like press ups, but think having 9lbs + babies has built me biceps to be proud of :-D

YoucancallmeQueenBee · 29/11/2013 08:35

Thank you all for the welcome. I did L1D3 yesterday. Had to do pilates on what should have been D3, as I hurt too much. I am going to have to work up to doing it every day. I have too many dodgy joints to go from zero to daily!

ErrolTheDragon · 29/11/2013 09:45

L4D7 of Ri30 done.

I may be having a break next week, so one of you remember to start a December thread on sunday. Smile

I got my Shock Absorber from JJB, IIRC but the dept stores stock them (they were in the news recently about alleged price fixing!)

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 29/11/2013 09:59

Thanks Errol, will definitely be searching one out

Had a rest from shred today but just been out for a run.

Only do 3k, but have just managed that in 20mins :-O

I haven't run for weeks, so just goes to prove that Jillian's work outs do improve fitness as well as tone

deeplybaffled · 30/11/2013 13:09

L1D6 done. Have had a cold this week and couldn't believe how much difference it made to my ability to keep up - literally gasping for breath at some points. Anyway, survived and now off for a well deserved shower!

giraffeseatpineapples · 02/12/2013 12:06

Well done deeply baffled good for you. I felt a tiny bit ill yest so didnt shred Xmas Blush L1 d 8 done... behind with my christmas target now though...I would have to shred every day including christmas eve.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/12/2013 16:20

Oy, you should be over here now! Grin

giraffeseatpineapples · 03/12/2013 10:37

oops Blush Grin thanks Errol!
