Following on from ErrolTheDragon's October Shred thread:

Another month, another chance to start/restart/continue the 30 Day Shred, or similar - ripped in 30, NMTZ, whatever your preferred form of torture exercise with Jillian you're welcome here for support, advice and motivation!

30 day shred - Level 3 day 3 done and a lot easier today! used a yoga mat which I think has made a world of difference and my elbows are very grateful for.

elle my baby was 4mths old and BF really established when I started MFP and healthy eating. Once you have used it for a few times it remembers all your foods. So I used it to plan in advance what I would eat each day and that helped to stop me snacking on wrong stuff. I walked alot to "earn" a crunchie bar most days as my treat Grin gd luck.
DD1 has just been sick :( long night ahead

ErrolTheDragon · 15/11/2013 22:06

ssmile - oh no, having a kid ill at the same time as yourself must be horrible. Hope you don't have too rough a night.

ZingWantsGin · 17/11/2013 10:53

deeplybaffled · 17/11/2013 11:08

Congratulations, Zing - lovely news!

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 17/11/2013 12:35

Congratulations Zing that's fab news :) xx

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 17/11/2013 21:19

Hello all, newbie here. I've just started (L1D2 - first attempt at the shred). I love running but I have DD (7mo) so it's tricky to get out to run, especially now it's dark. She now finally! naps in her cot so I've decided to do the shred while she's asleep to improve my figure before I go back to work. I have found it tough going but ok so far. Using 1.5kg weights. My main issue is my thighs!

Congratulations to Zing! :)

ErrolTheDragon · 17/11/2013 23:13

Congrats Zing... wow!

Welcome Faith - what most people find is their thighs are horribly achy for the first 3-4 days and then start to ease up but also firm up. Hold onto furniture when you do the quad stretches to make sure you do them properly.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 17/11/2013 23:28

thanks all!Smile

make me jealous of those abs!Wink

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 17/11/2013 23:49

Congratulations Zing wonderful news

DS and I have both had the lurgy but now we are betterI have finally completed level one, day one. Ouch!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/11/2013 09:22

L3D8 of Ri30 done. Getting there with the 'stork pose' on my right leg but not so much on the left.
Well done SLD Smile

WillColbert · 18/11/2013 09:42

L2D1 done - I'm exhausted!

You're right Errol - I don't need a full on diet but I do need to adjust what I'm eating. Will take a look at 5:2.

Welcome to all new shredders and congratulation to Zing.

conquita · 19/11/2013 05:31

I really really really will get out of bed early to shred tomorrow morning.

WillColbert · 19/11/2013 09:11

I'm impressed that you're even up at 5:30 Conquita let alone considering shredding at that time.

L2D2 done. I really though it would be much easier second time around. It isn't.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/11/2013 10:18

L3D9 of Ri30 done. Will find out what L4 entails tomorrow!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 19/11/2013 11:13

L1D4 of shred done! Not as tough going today although my thighs still burned. Spurred on by RL friend yesterday saying she did it and lost 7lb!

Out of interest, what do people do once they've done the 30 days?

ErrolTheDragon · 19/11/2013 19:41

Out of interest, what do people do once they've done the 30 days?

well, I went on a fortnight's holiday, then came back and did the shred again and then started Ripped in 30. I'm really feeling better for it so may as well keep going!

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 19/11/2013 20:09

L3d8 today. I have to do it early too Conquita or my motivation goes, ideally if I'm up by 6 I can shred then shower then do morning jobs before munchkins get up! Otherwise too much of a rush.
This morning I wondered how they all keep smiling through the exercises, when I'm doing sit ups especially I have a proper grunty screwed up poo face (iyswim!)

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 19/11/2013 21:35

After the 30 days I started the c25k programme, and now some days I do both

Much prefer the shred to anything though

conquita · 19/11/2013 22:18

I am 12 hours ahead of you guys! Alas, my motivation has disappeared, can someone please kick my arse into gear so I get out of bed early to shred. Instead I am changing the time on my alarm and then spend the time in bed fretting that I have not got up, so staying in bed is not worth it really. But I have lost all motivation. I am doing other exercise so the shred is additional, but I find the shred really effective in keeping me happy and without it I can feel I am falling into a dark space.

I was a late night shredder when I had the motivation to do it. Work has been hyper intense for last week and a half post holiday but hoping will get better so I am in the house before 8pm and have some chance of restarting for second time.
Badly need to get fit again post holiday indulgence and agree with conquita about the effect in mood....virtuous circle for me if I can de zombify myself enough to start!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/11/2013 10:13

L3D10 of Ri30 done... L4 tomorrow.

I seem to have managed to just get into the habit of doing it - I have the advantage that I've got to get up reasonably early as DD has to be taken to the bus-stop at 7:30, and I work part-time from home. I know I feel better for it, and it really doesn't take that long.

Conquita, deeply, anyone else .... just do it, OK? No-one else is going to do it for you. (that's my little mantra for kicking my arse into gear if I've got something I hate doing which I'm procrastinating over like filling in a tax return.)

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 20/11/2013 12:05

L1D5 done. Definitely getting easier and my muscles aren't as sore. Bit Embarassing though, I an shredding when DD goes for her morning nap and shower afterwards. The postman came to deliver DD's Christmas present I ended up answering in my dressing gown looking like I am really lazy!

deeplybaffled · 20/11/2013 21:07

errol - sadly, you were quite right. No one else did do it for me, so had to do it for myself! Level one, day one, round two completed:)

ErrolTheDragon · 20/11/2013 21:12

Well done, Faith - we weren't lying, you're over the worst now.

Deeply - yay, now you've started again you know you can do it. Smile

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 20/11/2013 22:35

L1D2 complete!
