Brexit

Brexiteers, if there was a 'People's Vote' how would you vote?

For me? I'd flatly vote No Deal.

Would others vote to stay in the EU or agree to Teresa May's deal?

Everyone I know who voted Leave would still vote Leave (the same goes for those who voted Remain) so I'd be really curious to see what the outcome of a 2nd referendum would generate.

What has Magna Carta got to do with sovereignty?

Magna Carta was about individual freedoms.

Leavers just wave words and phrases around with no understanding.

TheElementsSong · 21/11/2018 09:00

Soundbites.

Peregrina · 21/11/2018 09:03

Why is she being called Treason May? Two years ago Leavers couldn't get enough of her, and implicitly trusted her to do a deal. She's now negotiated something and they are still not satisfied!

prettybird · 21/11/2018 09:04

Maths isn't Outside's strong point Wink

The Magna Carta was 803 years ago - which I don't think by any stretch could be described as "nearly a 1000 years" Confused

Quite apart from the fact that it only relates to England (and even then, really just the relationship between royalty and the privileged, not the "ordinary" people) Hmm Not Scotland. Not Wales. Not Ireland. Hmm

So essentially has sweet FA to do with the current situation.

Shhhhhhh... Apparently, Leavers have always distrusted her, because they've always known she was a Remainer and they never supported her as PM and they always knew that her delivery of Brexit would be flawed and not the glowing Sunlit Uplands that was rightly deserved. So kindly wipe your memory and pretend you never saw Leavers saying they supported her and do not wonder why, if Leavers knew all this all along they were content to sit back for over 2 years leaving May in charge, and telling everyone they were "bored" of Brexit.

I wonder what words of wisdom OutsideInTheGarden is going to regale us with from his 1980s copy of the Ladybird book of economics, which seems to have a couple of pages missing.
Perhaps he is thumbing through 'Janet and John do basket weaving'.

bellinisurge · 21/11/2018 09:13

I expect they are calling her Treason May because it sounds clever and they don't understand the seriousness of it. Sound familiar?

Quietrebel · 21/11/2018 10:08

The market is currently supplying all we need, food and medicines.

Which is precisely why dis-integrating an extensively integrated market is a very bad idea.

BorisBogtrotter · 21/11/2018 10:31

"The market is currently supplying all we need, food and medicines."

Ah but the market operates well because of the processes and controls put in to facilitate it.

There is no such thing as a free market.

LOVELYDOVEY05 · 21/11/2018 12:46

I do not think it has been handled that badly because there was no clear plan by Leave so May has got an impossible job.

LOVELYDOVEY05 · 21/11/2018 12:47

Sorry to answer the question I would vote Remain and change from inside

I'd agree that Corbyn is a useful idiot. As are Corbynistas. But that's it.
See, @OutsideInTheGarden - we found a term to agree on.

Quietrebel · 21/11/2018 17:56

You are all what Lenin called useful idiots.

Projection

Moussemoose · 21/11/2018 20:34

Leavers just wave quotes around with no understanding of context.

BorisBogtrotter · 22/11/2018 15:28

"I will leave you all to revel in your ignorance. "

Still haven't presented a good economic case for brexit.

Or used any good economics.

Do say hi to Vlad for me.
