Thanks @Bear

Moussemoose · 16/07/2018 17:49

Thanks Bear

Peregrina · 16/07/2018 18:24

To answer a question from the old thread - don't MPs swear something to do what they consider best for the country?

Thanks @Bearbehind .
It's like watching a car crash.

I don't want to watch a car crash, that would be horrific, but even more horrific would be being in a car crash, along with my children, all of us strapped in when we were being driven over a cliff by a maniac.

frumpety · 16/07/2018 18:45

None of the Leavers on here have addressed the issue of who the UK government has a duty to ? 26% of the population or all of the citizens of the UK ? Because the current trajectory is going to be bad for 99.9%

My question from the previous thread still stands.

Bearbehind · 16/07/2018 18:51

What a mess today's developments are!

The rest of the world, particularly the EU, must just be laughing at us.

We look complete and utter twats given we can't even agree what proposal to go to the EU with.

How on earth are negiotiations supposed to commence?

A complete dereliction of duty. Did the Government win the last war by not sitting for two months? (I don't know.) This ought to be treated as an Emergency.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 16/07/2018 19:19

Don't post much in the Brexit Arms threads anymore but find it remarkable how many leave posters we've lost in the last 2 years.

54321go · 16/07/2018 19:25

Perhaps they are going on holiday next week and simply not coming back?

jasjas1973 · 16/07/2018 19:36

...if only!

TheMonkeyMummy · 16/07/2018 19:47

Oh, bloody hell, what have I missed? (Dashes off to bbc news)

Quietrebel · 16/07/2018 19:58

To those who say other countries in the EU are laughing: no they're not, they are concerned as you would be watching a friend write a suicide note.

54321go · 16/07/2018 20:09

Those I have spoken to ask the equivalent to 'What the heck are you thinking'? To which there is no answer of course.

Bearbehind · 16/07/2018 20:19

It just gets worse

Far from working through the summer, it seems TM is trying to break up sooner so the rebels don't have time to oust her.

Just when you things can't stoop any lower, they do.

Thanks Bear Gin Cake Flowers

54321go · 16/07/2018 20:32

So exactly what message does this send to the EU and marginally less worse, the rest of the world?
When the going gets tough, the Gov go on holiday!
Although the EU team may be away for a while I would bet Mr Barnier has his phone on 'slow dial'. Actually a carrier pigeon may be fast enough.

DGRossetti · 16/07/2018 21:15

.

Bearbehind · 16/07/2018 22:23

I'm irrationally angry about this business of trying to break for the summer early.

So much for democracy, taking back control and regaining sovereignty.

How do you feel about this Leavers?

The going gets tough and your democratically elected parliament choose to fuck off on holiday early rather than face the music.

54321go · 16/07/2018 22:30

Which other countries are going to 'give' the UK good deals when the Gov show such contempt for the citizens?
We can only hope that Mrs May has had a word with Mr Barnier to say that at the last moment she will do a massive U turn and revoke A50 at a suitable time for it to be a 'done deal'.

jasjas1973 · 16/07/2018 22:30

The amendments leavers want have been voted through by Parliament, by 3 votes, so i guess there is nothing left to do now? lol!

Who cares? they re rarely at the commons in any case, tbh its all a waste of time.

I see Trump has suggested leaving the WTO, legislation has been drawn up, if that were to happen, so much for our FTA with USA, would'nt be worth the paper it was written on.

Bearbehind · 16/07/2018 22:31

Actually, on reflection, my anger isn't irrational, it's perfectly reasonable in the circumstances.
