Brexit

The weather is on the side of the people

Chucking it down in the East of England. Storms last night. Senior Remain campaigners phoning in minute by minute weather updates to Brussels. To say there is despair among the elite is to do the English language injustice.

Brexiters were out in force, soaked to the skin, some were being carried to the polling booths. As we said "good morning" to each other, there were mentions of "Independence Day" with laughs and winks.

Some Brexiters looked to the Heavens as they chucked down rain upon us and smiled. The Heavens were on our side.

I'm in Dave's area!

I'm quite interested in the result because the biggest RAF camp in the RAF is here, over 6000 people in just a couple of square miles; the overwhelming feel on FB was that the RAF people I know were voting leave.

I'm very, very interested in the result here...

MangoMoon · 24/06/2016 03:13

Too many RAFs in that post - that's how terribly excited I am Blush

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 03:14

75% probability of a leave vote on current trends.

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 03:39

Now 80% probability

Millyonthefloss2 · 24/06/2016 03:39

British people are very sensible. Thank god for democracy.

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 03:43

Certain win for out in Wales now.

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 24/06/2016 03:52

Gosh, this is unbelievable. Even the cities voting to remain (Manchester) haven't got a massive lead on the leave votes

MangoMoon · 24/06/2016 03:59

Jacob Rees-Mogg makes me laugh!:

^"If the European Union is the sort of club that if you want to leave it, you get knee-capped, it's not a club you want to belong to in the first place.
It's a bit like the Mafia".^

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 04:05

Farage has just claimed victory.

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 24/06/2016 04:15

Farage is such a knob! Argh.

I can't believe that it looks like Brexit will happen. Obviously the UK is inherently racist Hmm

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 04:18

85% probability of a leave win.

bazingasheldon · 24/06/2016 04:28

Ashamed to be Welsh at the moment Sad My whole household {5 adults) could lose their jobs if we leave as we all work in community jobs which are funded by EU.

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 04:36

ITV have now called a win for leave.

BillSykesDog · 24/06/2016 04:37

They think leave will win by 4%

adrianna22 · 24/06/2016 04:38

Bill there's still others votes to be counted.

MangoMoon · 24/06/2016 04:45
Shock We're out!

Good.
I sincerely hope that this is the catalyst for long overdue change for the better for this country, especially our politics.

claig · 24/06/2016 04:45

Wow, BBC Dimbleby has said "we are out"

Amazing. What a democracy.

What an amazing day. I didn't think they would allow it. I thought they might rig it. We took our pens and didn't use pencils.

We have a real democracy. The people have spoken. What a revolution of the people.

I like Laura Kuenssberg, she is off to Downing Street.

This is absolutely huge. What a country we live in. We have real law and real democracy. What a great thing. The people are really sovereign. Incredible.

Wow. What a day for democracy. Steve Hilton is talking a lot of sense. Time to be positive.

claig · 24/06/2016 05:10

I like Steve Hilton a lot. Great thinker. It is a huge moment but there are also huge positives. Nothing will ever be the same again. A better politics will now emerge.

Keith Vaz was devastated and was almost crying because it is such a huge event. Chuka says "it is an earthquake".

I wonder if Leadsom could be chancellor?
. Would be amazing to have somebody who knows what she's talking about in the job.

Badders123 · 24/06/2016 05:33

What a sad day
And what a devisive election this has been
Hello recession!
Hello TTIP and the end of the nhs!
I'm heartbroken that the racist and xenophobic rhetoric has won over so many decent people
Ugh
Sad

claig · 24/06/2016 05:34

Yes definitely, Leadsom will either be Chancellor or Leader and Prime Minister. She is excellent and not patronising like so many of the others.
