Help - Need to send daughter to boarding school

I'm looking for any advice you wise lot may have about sending my daughter to boarding school. Fees are not an issue. It has become very clear that the state system is not working for her or us as a family and we need to move her as soon as possible.

I've trawled through the various websites and have noted the various open days, etc. As she is 14 and currently out of school is it possible for her to enter before the next full admissions year or not? Incidentally we also have a son who is doing very well at the local state school in Scotland and have no intention of moving him so it's not a question of her current school/s being not good enough, just not working for her.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Key question is: if you send her down south to board (I boarded by the way), will the boyfriend travel to see her? If so, there is a strong risk she will continue to see him. Will she travel to see him?
You will have to think very carefully how to pitch the situation to the school - they will be hesitant to take on a serial bolter - this is a boarding school's greatest fear, understandably.
On the other hand, if the child is up for it, boarding can be great and could be a good distraction. You need it to be a school with mostly boarders, not a day school with a few boarders, as this is a recipe for weekend boredom.
For what it is worth, I went to St Catherine's school, Bramley, nr Guildford, which is great for academic girls, but perhaps a bit too easy to get to London from.

All the very best of luck with this terrible situation.
