Well done!
I found the second booster horrible, far worse than covid. Although Doctor friend says a bad reaction is good in the long term for protection.
It is too cold ❄

Thanks for the new thread Carrie. I've just read alarming headlines which suggest that the temperature i might drop to -11 degrees tonight. I'm hoping that's an exaggeration. A friend in Longford had a post up on FB to say it's -6 degrees. I haven't been able to put anything into my bins for the past few days because we've had sub-zero temperatures and the bin lids are frozen solid - I can't lift them. The house has been so cold that I've been checking the radiators to see if they're working (they are).

GRMA @Carriemac

Jesus @Taytocrisps I have to go to a funeral this evening. Hopefully I will get home before the temperature drops too much.

I think it's just hit me that it's only a week and a half until Christmas and I'm so disorganised.

Terrible about the Irish soldier who was killed while peacekeeping in Lebanon. Rest in peace Séan.

RIP to this brave young man.

He seemed such a great young man from a lovely family. So sad for them, and so sad a time for Donegal.
Thankfully the weather is milder, if not mild!

I got my second covid booster this morning, I'm feeling ok so far though I was advised to take paracetamol for 24 hours.

I keep watching tv chefs showing me Christmas recipes. I d love them to bring me hampers of yumminess.
They don't have to peel and chop, find a bowl, wipe worktops, clean up, discover the bowl they needis in the dishwasher etc.

JaneJeffer · 22/12/2022 19:00

I think I'm better sticking to what I know than trying any fancy new recipes on Christmas Day.

Hope you're ok @honeyrider

@Iblinkedandiamold
I hope you are ok.
You are normally quite a prolific poster on these threads.
I know it's a busy time.
There's an awful bug going around. My bil has it. Really bad chesty cough, his voice went. He took a Covid test but it was negative. My dsis is hoping she won't get it.

eggandonion · 22/12/2022 22:02

There are an awful lot of people ill, including covid positive people. I read that tests aren't really accurate now as covid viral makeup is so different.
It's looking like a January of coughs, sniffles, sore throats etc.

Season's Greeting. Had a lovely day yesterday, dinner was great and everything went to plan, my DS who was absent due to covid last year was here and my other DS brought one of his housemates and his brother round for the day.

DH and myself went to visit his family for the evening. It was one of my favourite Christmas days ever and I made sure to enjoy it as I know next year one or both of my sons will probably have emigrated.
