It wasn't me either. Smile
I'd wave goodbye to work.
New house
New car
Money to those I love - friends and family.
Charities too of course.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 05/01/2023 15:55

@JaneJeffer 😂

HilarysMantelpiece · 05/01/2023 16:16

Happy new year all.
Sadly, I am not the €11m winner either 😥although this would be last place I'd tell 🤐.
I did win €5 on a scratch card in my Christmas stocking 😁

honeyrider · 05/01/2023 16:45

I won a €1000 voucher for Harvey Norman before Christmas.

JaneJeffer · 05/01/2023 17:15

Nice one @honeyrider

You'd have loads to spend it on in HN in Dundrum as there are so few customers so lots of stock. However I was only in the Beauty Hall.

I posted about it on another thread - the OP was wondering how certain shops were still surviving in the poor economic climate.

It's for Harvey Norman the electric and home furniture place, I think you're think of Harvey Nichols.

I'd much rather a Harvey Norman voucher , my mother bought my DD a heated throw from there at Christmas and it's fabulous
Snuggled under it and watched an cailin cuin and had a good cry

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 06/01/2023 10:41

That's fabulous, honeyrider! Very good.
A heated throw sounds brilliant, Carriemac .

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 06/01/2023 12:30

Oooh I'm dying to see that @Carriemac unfortuntely I don't have a heated throw to cozy up under whilst watching it but I do have a fleecy dressing gown and there will be wine Smile Was it very sad?

Has anyone seen The Banshees of Inisherin? DH and I saw it in the cinema and both really liked it. I could hear when we were leaving that half the audience hated it and it's been the same with friends & family who've seen it. It really divides people!

I'd love a voucher for Harvey Norman, unfortuntely I have a feeling our washing machine is on it's last legs so instead of fancy heated throws or apple watches I'd have to use it on a new machine, the joys 🙄

eggandonion · 06/01/2023 16:16

Santa brought me a plug in hot water bottle, which stays warm for about 5 hours. If im home alone, i heat myself.

honeyrider · 06/01/2023 17:48

I bought a DBL soundbar for DS1 it was €69 and had been reduced before Christmas. I might treat myself to a Ninja airfryer although I have a basic on.

I'm going to spend the voucher when I need things as I think my kettle, toaster and microwave oven will need replacing at some stage, I've got my washing machine and dryer a number of years now so who knows when they'll need replacing. I must have a look in my local shop and see what might tempt me.

honeyrider · 06/01/2023 17:50

Happy Nollaig na mBan ladies.

honeyrider · 06/01/2023 17:50

Happy Nollaig na mBan ladies.

And to you too @honeyrider

Did anyone else see the €25 gorgeous huge gold candle in Dunnes for €25. Golden Amber it was called
I thought to myself they'll never sell, they're too expensive.
I'll get one after Christmas when they're reduced.

What do I know !!!
SFA, that's what - they're all sold out Sad

honeyrider · 06/01/2023 17:58

People keep giving me Yankee candles, I hate them but my lads and their housemates like them so I offloaded them and the following day MIL gave me another one :)

JaneJeffer · 06/01/2023 19:05

Happy Little Christmas everyone. I can't wait to take everything down tomorrow!

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 06/01/2023 20:03

Happy Nollaig na mBan! I agree that it's time to put Christmas away tomorrow.

Carriemac · 06/01/2023 20:35

@LifeInAHamsterWheel it was sad but not tragic or unpleasant , more nostalgic sad

I'm going to leave my decorations up for another week or two.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 07/01/2023 00:03

That's good to hear @Carriemac I don't know anyone IRL who's seen it

Taking down our decs in the morning, I will miss the cosy glow of the lights and of course the place will need a good clean when everything has been put away so I'm not looking forward to it!!

The homewares in Dunnes this last while has been fab, I prefer diffusers to candles but they did have some gorgeous ones. Sorry you missed out @LadyEloise1 maybe try a different store or look online? Although I am always frustrated with their website it desperately needs an overhaul.

Carriemac · 07/01/2023 10:44

I bought some gorgeous decs in dunnes , the paper stars were so effective , I hung them from an old wreath

I watched An Cailín Ciúin also.
Carrie Crowley was super in it.
A lovely film.
Hope it does well at the awards.

halfpasteleven · 07/01/2023 21:21

@Carriemac I love your floor!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 07/01/2023 22:49

Oh @Carriemac your room is gorgeous! I'd say my entire ground floor would fit in that one room! <<envious>> The star is beautiful

Where are you all watching An Cailín Cúin? I have Apple TV, Netflix and Prime. Really don't want to get another subscription!!
