£200 in one day

How can I make this? Absolutely desperately in need of websites that have same day cashout.
My rent has not gone out this morning because my gas and electric has gone through the roof and we have had other things go wrong too (death of a family member and costs to travel to be there ect).
Anyway can I have a list of ones that are known to pay the same day please or any other ideas.
Thanks

Please don't turn to gambling. What a daft suggestion.

No body has suggested gambling have they?

To reiterate, I have not asked anybody for cash.

I have asked for advice which is what this forum does best.
And I’m going to consolidate this in case somebody else is in the same boat next week.

So far aside from calling bank and LL
Match betting is a no for same day
FB marketplace
People per hour a possible option

Pawn shop
Payday loan as last resort

priority of payments to be
rent
council tax
energy

step change advice going forwards

Why have you waited until today (the day the rent is due) to ask for advice?

Moraxella · 12/04/2023 12:40

@Oatyhobnobs i know you didn’t ask and apologise for putting you in that position. Wishing you the best

No it’s fine, it’s not you. It’s just trying to drown out the witch hunters to pick out the helpful bits of information.
Need to pick the kids up soon. Bank couldn’t help but did give timelines for when I might be able to access an overdraft (in a month if no more bounced payments) which is helpful as at least I can line that up as admin and schedule them all on the same day.

To those of you that helped this feel less overwhelming, thank you. It is appreciated.

Going to give LL another try before pawn shop.

@PinkFootstool this place is incredibly patronising and this has given me the push to leave. I’m glad people like you are around to point out how “thick” the rest of us are. I have critical thinking skills though you may disagree; you just see words on a screen not the deeper context behind a post. This was genuinely the first and only time I have ever even contemplated it, owing to a situation I found myself in last week where I stumbled on a bonus. I give (gave!) via official channels but now I’ve got a sour taste in my mouth.

Lucikly I didn’t give the cash cos I’ve just had a text from my mum saying she’s lost her phone and needs me to transfer some money 🤣

Your last sentence is a joke... right?

Of course it's a joke. It's also another common scam and an illustration of how anyone can send or post any message and it could be from anyone and be the truth or completely made up.

I'm just checking that @Moraxella , who was going to send money to a completely random stranger on the Internet, is in fact aware of that very common scam.

What power does the LL actually have in terms of whether or not you pay them today? I don't think they have any.

If you have paid the majority and will have enough for the rest when your husband is paid then I would stop freaking out about paying it Today and instead look at the best options for paying it in e.g. the next 7-10 days which gives proportionally you much more time to take some semi sustainable action i.e. getting an interest free credit card and then look at evening and weekend work/tutoring etc.

stop calling scam. Nobody is taking any money from anybody else.

OP I’m sorry I have no advice for your immediate situation. I hope you can get somewhere with calling your landlord.

For the future, it might be worth registering on moneysavingexpert and taking advice on their forums for budgeting, planning, etc.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/04/2023 14:25

I'm sorry you're in this situation
I hope your landlord is reasonable
If you've always paid on time, as you said. Offer what you have now and tell him you will pay the rest( on payday?)
He can demand it all today, but as long as you pay something I hope he accepts
Going forward to need to list your incomings and outgoings
Rent and Council tax followed by utilities
Have a look on your account, you may find it's in credit due to the government support.. you can request a reasonable refund( I did)
Short term pawn anything you can and buy back on payday( even an engagement ring)
CAB might help out with negotiating the IVA of your DH ex..
Good luck

Exhibity · 12/04/2023 14:29

Is your husband helping you with all of this ? I hope he is.

@Viviennemary and I were discussing the very common scam referred to in @Moraxella 's post, which may or may not have been a joke. The scam where someone pretends to be a relative who's lost their phone and asks for money to be transferred.

Are you saying that's not a scam either?

LilyMumsnet · 12/04/2023 14:39

Hello everyone

We've had a number of reports from people concerned about this thread so, as we usually do in these circs, we're putting our heads round the door with some important reminders.

So we always ask users to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are – and remind folk not to give more to another poster, either financially (in cash or gifts) or emotionally (in time or care and support) than they'd be prepared to lose if things went wrong. We strongly advise against parting with any cash or giving away your personal details, and if you receive a PM which makes you uneasy - report it to us and we’ll take a look.

Sorry to hijack your thread briefly there, OP – we really hope you get it all sorted soon.

CherryCokeFanatic · 12/04/2023 17:06

Do you have a relative or in law who is flush and could help? I say this because Phil and Kat kindly settled Stacey’s £3k debt to a loan shark the other day

anyolddinosaur · 12/04/2023 18:04

Actually this has reminded me about a local person who was struggling financially. She asked on the local Facebook page for work and while it didnt generate £200 in a day she did get employment that helped her out. People may be willing to let you wash their car, pull weeds or cut their grass for an hour or two. Very noticeable that people are more willing to offer work than handouts.

Tutoring is probably your best way to earn some extra cash.

Bamboux · 12/04/2023 11:37

We pay for everything for the kids plus child maintenance for husbands son.

I'm confused... last week you were stressed because your ex paid child maintenance late, but you said on that thread that he otherwise pays on time.

What do you mean you 'pay for everything for the kids'?

You also said on that thread that you were overdrawn, but in this thread that you don't have access to an overdraft.

that makes it even more confusing OP. Have you used up your overdraft? If not then use that?

If you were in that much of a mess last week have you been trying to sell stuff since then? Have you got much left? Try Facebook Market place.

How much have you managed to raise today so far?

potatowhale · 12/04/2023 18:55

How did you get on at the pawn shop? Maybe need to take on a weekend job for next month?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/04/2023 19:02

Did you contact ll

excelledyourself · 12/04/2023 20:16

@potatowhale OP explained she went overdrawn, but doesn't have an arranged overdraft.

excelledyourself · 12/04/2023 20:18

I hope your LL has been decent with you, OP.
