£200 in one day

How can I make this? Absolutely desperately in need of websites that have same day cashout.
My rent has not gone out this morning because my gas and electric has gone through the roof and we have had other things go wrong too (death of a family member and costs to travel to be there ect).
Anyway can I have a list of ones that are known to pay the same day please or any other ideas.
Thanks

Don't do pay day loans

If this is the first time kate for rent talk to ll. yes they prob need the money to pay their mortgage but they may give you a few days

If not then pawn shop

Guessing you've asked friends or family if they can help you out

RJnomore1 · 12/04/2023 11:02

when you say you don’t have access to overdrafts - hsve you asked your bank? That’s probably quickest and easiest unless you have terrible credit.

Passerillage · 12/04/2023 11:06

This might not be possible for you right now, but this happened to us once a couple of years ago and I went onto People Per Hour and got a job building a website for £400 for someone who needed it urgently. I'm super quick at websites and fired it off in a couple of hours and had the money the next day.

I’ve never done matched betting before.
I would need to know exactly what to do as obviously don’t want to risk being further in the Red.
can you give any advice?

Former matched better here. Unless you've a lot of money to put into start up, you won't make enough profit in one day I'm afraid as you need to wait for matches to end/horses to race to cash out to then place further bets. That isn't always instant. So sorry :(

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 12/04/2023 11:08

You teaching union will have a hardship fund - give them a try as well. As you are nearly out of bad dept it would be a shame to get into one that is known to cause a negative spiral.

bellswithwhistles · 12/04/2023 11:08

Surely you don't just pay all of your gas and electric if your rent is due out?!

I'm calling BS on this thread. None of it makes sense.

Winter2020 · 12/04/2023 11:09

As someone else has just suggested I came on to say contact your bank and ask for the utilities money you be refunded under the direct debit guarantee.

It sounds like the utilities debit has just shot up. Dispute the amount, ask for a refund and be in debt to your energy rather than rent.

Ginmonkeyagain · 12/04/2023 11:10

Talk to your landlord, pay all the rent you can today and then take a breath.

Sit down this wekeend and work out a budget. If there is a monthly shortfall this is who gets paid first (in this order)

  • Rent
  • Council tax
  • Energy

If you have unsecured loans or credit card debt then renegotiate the payments.

Speak to stepchange. They will be able to help.

There is (or was) a thread in the Money Matters topic, entitled "Supplementing Your Income". I opened it, but it is very lengthy, so I didn't have time to read it.

There may be something helpful in there for you.

I hope you get sorted.

Appreciate this. Marking to check it next. Still on the phone to educational support

This was the first thing we tried this morning. They just kept saying they couldn’t call back the money. I did suspect it might not have been entirely true.

Viviennemary · 12/04/2023 11:13

Pawn shop best for instant cash because of their interest rates. Pay day loan don't touch. Or speak to bank about increasing your overdraft. You both have secure jobs.

OP, I'm a landlord - there's no way your LL can force you to pay today and I'm surprised they're even saying such a thing.

Are you in properly controlled private accommodation with the correct paperwork?

Cherry2010 · 12/04/2023 11:15

It’s worth speaking to your HR department, or husbands. Our HR do welfare loans as a one-off, to be paid straightaway and repaid through your salary over, say, 6 months.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/04/2023 11:16

Good luck with Education Support.

However, no-one can advise effectively on the snapshots you have posted here. Is the £200 shortfall a one off, or the tip of an iceberg?

You need professional advice based on a full picture of your circumstances. Otherwise you face struggling on for years, getting nowhere.

Have a look at Moneysaving Expert and do everything that is relevant.

Once you've got all the information, you'll know whether it's a case of a bit of cutting back/rearranging finances, or you need a formal debt solution yourself.

Name change fail. If you want this not linked to previous posts then you can self report your post to mumsnet and ask them to change it for you.

Glad you are now able to ring for advice and hopefully help. Completely understand why you'd want your children out of earshot. Hope they can help support you.

NerrSnerr · 12/04/2023 10:37

I assume that if the OP is considering payday loans she has exhausted the overdraft, bank loan and credit card options.

I agree about getting support from your union but in the short term maybe a pawn shop.

It's rubbish at the moment.

Yes this. Why do people always suggest credit cards, overdraft etc.... I'm sure OP has already explored these avenues otherwise they wouldn't be so desperate. And some people have poor credit and can't get extra finance.

gloriawasright · 12/04/2023 11:20

This is a long shot, do you have any time today ( a couple of hours)
Register with eBay ,and PayPal .
Have a look around and find any clothes that you don't need/like anymore and start selling .
If you put the items on at a buy it now price .the money is paid straight into your PayPal account.
Set your prices low to get buyers.and put a realistic postage cost..
It's daunting but very surprising how quickly things will sell and you get paid instantly,
You would have a couple of days to get things posted.
Money today ,send items out over the next couple of days.
It's doable.

mellicauli · 12/04/2023 11:21

Ask 10 friends / relatives to lend you £20 . Say you'll give it back on payday.
Switch bank account (pays £200 for top one, see Martin Lewis website) and so you aren't short next month

PiggyPokkyFool · 12/04/2023 11:22

I see you ask about making £200 from survey in a day - I am a giant fan of online surveys but you cannot make £200 in a day or indeed a week. Unless I am very lucky I usually only make £10 every 2-3 days.
It's not doable.

Skyeheather · 12/04/2023 11:22

Your LL can't do anything if you don't pay your rent today, they can't throw you out because your rent didn't go into their account on payment day. They are also being unreasonable if this is the first time this has happened - sounds like your LL could be depending on the money to pay something themselves and are now in the same situation - but not your problem.

What does your tenancy agreement say about late payment of rent? Mine just used to say I would be charged interest for everyday the rent is late.

You need to change the dates of your DD's so your rent gets paid the day you get paid and the bills in the days after as the rent is the most important payment. You can negotiate with the others.

I think you've had a namechange fail.

bigdecisionstomake · 12/04/2023 11:26

I work for a landlord OP and if you've never paid late before then the best thing to do for now is transfer the amount you have got and contact the landlord in writing (text or email) to tell them the date you are able to pay the remainder. You can add a one line explanation if you choose to do so e.g. a family bereavement has caused financial hardship this month but you will have resolved this issue prior to the next payment falling due. You don't have to explain if you feel you don't want to though.

A good landlord will offer the flexibility if there are extenuating circumstances and you have a good track record.

If your landlord isn't the reasonable type and continues demanding the rent then you just need to keep calmly explaining the date you are able to pay the remainder. In the meantime I hope the education support people are able to help. Try to avoid a payday loan if possible as the interest will make it harder to get back on track. If you can get even a week's grace from the landlord for the remaining £200 that will give you time to sell some things or do some casual work to cover the difference.

Good luck.

Sharkyto · 12/04/2023 11:29

Electric bill and rent both coming out on 12th of the month when you’re both in jobs that typically pay at the end of the month? Very unusual, I’d swap your payment dates for a start. As someone who’s lived in extreme poverty, first rule is all important bills get paid on payday.
