£200 in one day

How can I make this? Absolutely desperately in need of websites that have same day cashout.
My rent has not gone out this morning because my gas and electric has gone through the roof and we have had other things go wrong too (death of a family member and costs to travel to be there ect).
Anyway can I have a list of ones that are known to pay the same day please or any other ideas.
Thanks

Moraxella You sound very kind .I am pretty sure OP sounds genuine ,but no way of knowing for sure really.I think people have been unkind to OP, not everyone has a 100k a year job and loads of savings (or indeed any at all!)

acrimoniousone · 12/04/2023 11:57

Hi OP, I know exactly what it's like being in your situation and in my case payday loans left me with a DRO ruining my credit long-term even after it was discharged. I can live with it as I'm in HA accommodation and plan never to borrow money again but if I was looking at privately renting, looking for a mortgage or financing a car I'd be stuffed. It's even tricky getting utility accounts set up as you constantly get pushed towards 'pay as you go' although most companies try to accommodate Priority (disabled) Customers.

It's a shit option but if you have something suitable to pawn Cash Convertors are fairly solid. The fees are transparent and fairly reasonable if you are going to be able to retrieve it quickly - but if you miss the date the fees rack up fast - as with all credit that's where they make their money. It's a fairly brief if humiliating process getting approved and it won't affect your credit rating. They will want something worth well over the borrowed amount though, to clear £200 something like a laptop, phone or iPad will be required. They will demand your login details too so make sure it's clean.

It's a desperate way to raise cash but it is an option at least if you really don't have a family member or friend able to help you out. I'd also recommend speaking to your landlord again and be very honest about the situation, £200 in late (or even lost) rent wouldn't make me get rid of an otherwise solid tenant unless there was a history of late payments. I do appreciate how awful it must be in the current market though.

Rachaelrachael · 12/04/2023 11:57

Matched betting is a good way to make money, like other have said you need a float to get started. Plus it takes more than a day to learn how to do it properly.
How about working through all the sites offering free spins to new customers? There's no guarantees but you might get lucky and it's risk free if you just do the free ones?

acrimoniousone · 12/04/2023 11:58

Please don't turn to gambling. What a daft suggestion.

I agree. I worked with someone years ago who struggled to pay the mortgage every single month, terrible with money. Incredibly stressful way to live.

Going forward a plan is needed. Either tutoring, evening jobs, cheaper rental. The situation is not sustainable ongoing.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/04/2023 12:03

Matched betting, surveys and selling second hand clothes all take time to make any decent money. It is not something to do in a panic today.

The OP would be better off spending a day going through her finances with a fine tooth comb to work out why a professional couple are struggling so badly and then putting a plan in place to improve the situation.

OP why have you suddenly been floored by your utility bill? Are you paying quarterly and is this the big winter bill? This is why most companies encourage people onto equal direct debit. You pay the same amount each month so it's much easier to budget and you can just owe your company at this time of year because they know it'll balance out over the spring and summer.

OPs name is not coming up on searches.

I’m wise, thanks. I know most people are out to fleece others but on this one occasion was giving benefit of doubt and wouldn’t give what I couldn’t afford to lose 👍🏼

Mugs like you are the reason scammers come on here in the first place. Give your money to a local food bank instead.

The op had a name change fail halfway through this thread. Search for the other name. It's in the screenshot I posted.

Exactly. Food bank, homelessness charity, single parent charity, whatever. Why would a 'wise' person offer money to a complete stranger with absolutely no evidence whatsoever of who they are sending it to? Or why they want it? Seriously.

Moraxella · 12/04/2023 12:08

@PinkFootstool thanks for that!

Moraxella · 12/04/2023 12:10

JFC, I get the message. I’ve cancelled my charity direct debits and going to redirect to long term investments.

PinkFootstool · 12/04/2023 12:14

@Moraxella critical thinking is a skill. You might be happy to give away £20 to an online sob story. That just encourages the scammers to come back over and over.

If you're happy to give away money to those you think "might" need it online, you'll also start to fall for the other scams in future - text messages, phone calls, letters, WhatsApp messages, emails, in the street.... They all prey on different aspects of someone's personality and vulnerability. Some of them appeal to to people's greed (lottery wins, hidden treasure etc), others to people's empathy (can't afford formula milk to feed the baby, can't afford medical treatment, can't pay the rent so at risk of eviction, can't heat the house and baby is coughing....).

If you want to really help people in need, find a competent and useful organisation and assuage your conscience that way. Donate to the food bank. Look for energy banks and donate to them. Send money to the local hostel or shelter do homeless people. Work a shift a week at a charitable organisation. All far more useful and welcome than sending cash to unverified claims on the Internet.

GatoradeMeBitch · 12/04/2023 12:15

It's not unknown for people to change details when they are posting. I know I've done it. Just give advice if you have it, and maybe let's not witch hunt someone who already sounds stressed.

MichelleScarn · 12/04/2023 12:17

We don’t have access to overdrafts or cc and I have got myself into debt paying of husbands exes debt.
This would be the first thing id stop. If it truly is her debt alone, why on earth are you paying it? However if its a joint debt he needs to own it and stop saying its hers.

Oatyhobnobs · 12/04/2023 12:18

TeaserandtheFirecat · 12/04/2023 11:45

Uh oh

Yes that’s right
I had gone into unarranged overdraft which I was then charged for as I don’t have an overdraft.
yes I do get some child maintenance but otherwise have the children and pay for everything and pay child maintence for ss too.
Im not a liar or trying to scam anybody.

I appreciate that not everybody understands and that some of you are out to judge or assume or whatever. But I am desperate and have been for some time.

I don’t need to keep making excuse after excuse as to why that is because I didn’t post on here with a huge background and only have information when faced with the unhelpful assumptions.

I’m not a scammer, I am a mum trying to utilise an invaluable set of resources. And with thanks to the people who have maybe been in this situation before or are landlords or just helpful souls, I have had a the benefit when really stressed of a list to run through which has helped me to cope with it.
I have called education support and LLalso just on the phone with bank to try and upgrade account to one with overdraft.
It is likely I will be going to the pawn shop but appreciate all of the genuinely helpful advice including the straight talking advice

No but when you name change fail and your last thread was also about having no money then there is an obvious pattern.

Its lovely for people to be kind but when someone is obviously terrible with money or a scammer then they need to not be so kind.

Because she took things out in his name and then got an IVA so unless I want bailiffs at my door I need to continue to pay it.
Its been years and it’s only a few months off being paid off.

ShowUs · 12/04/2023 12:20

OP why did you not post yesterday or over the weekend?

You must have known the rent was due and that it’s almost impossible to get money on the same day as you need it.

If you had posted a few days ago you would have so much better advice.

We are so close to being out of this after years of struggling. I have never done anything wrong.
Asking for advice from strangers is not a crime.

Moraxella · 12/04/2023 12:24

@PinkFootstool this place is incredibly patronising and this has given me the push to leave. I’m glad people like you are around to point out how “thick” the rest of us are. I have critical thinking skills though you may disagree; you just see words on a screen not the deeper context behind a post. This was genuinely the first and only time I have ever even contemplated it, owing to a situation I found myself in last week where I stumbled on a bonus. I give (gave!) via official channels but now I’ve got a sour taste in my mouth.

Lucikly I didn’t give the cash cos I’ve just had a text from my mum saying she’s lost her phone and needs me to transfer some money 🤣

Matched betting isn't gambling. If you do it properly and follow the rules it's completely risk free.

isthewashingdryyet · 12/04/2023 12:26

Take a walk down your high street and walk into the shops that have a notice in the window asking for staff. Or call round the care homes near you, and ask for weeekend shifts. One of you needs an evening and weekend job until you have a decent buffer. A couple of months should do it. Minimum wage is over £10 and hour now.

Kennykenkencat · 12/04/2023 12:26

I think that everyone should know exactly what is going in and out of their banks each month and from there you know where you are spending your money, what to cut down on and ultimately how much income you need to cover all your outgoings on a monthly basis.

I never use cash, it is either debit or credit card because then I have a record of every single time I have paid for something whether that be my rent or a block of cheese

I write down everything and have different columns to put each transaction in whether it is Birthdays and One offs, Tolls/Travel and Parking or Bills food or Petrol etc Even yearly charges are broken down into cost per month

At a glance I can see how much on average I spend each month. and how much I get in.

Skrimping and saving when you don’t know the amount you have to skrimp and save is never going to get you anywhere because you could make all the sacrifices in the world and if it is £2 short of what you need on average each month and you aren’t realising you are wasting money on other things. Then eventually it will all catch up to you

To reiterate, I have not asked anybody for cash.

I have asked for advice which is what this forum does best.
