£200 in one day

rocketlocket1 · 12/04/2023 09:25

How can I make this? Absolutely desperately in need of websites that have same day cashout.
My rent has not gone out this morning because my gas and electric has gone through the roof and we have had other things go wrong too (death of a family member and costs to travel to be there ect).
Anyway can I have a list of ones that are known to pay the same day please or any other ideas.
Thanks

See if you can apply for/extend your overdraft via your banking app.

Jules912 · 12/04/2023 10:04

I'm assuming £200 is not your entire rent and you have the rest? Pay what you can and talk to your landlord. Also I don't know if education is different but in exceptional circumstances my employer will grant an advance against next months wages (although obviously not helpful if you're going to have the same issue next month).

Match betting is risk free if done correctly. However as pp have said it needs a working float to start.

So the risk is in doing incorrectly, which is not impossible.

Either pay the rent £200 short and speak to your landlord.

Or contact your bank and get an overdraft. Or not ideal, but do you have a credit card? You could draw out £200 on that from an ATM and pay it into your bank account.

Otherwise do you have something to sell/pawn?

PinkFootstool · 12/04/2023 10:10

Are you in a union? Contact them and ask about the hardship fund.

What does your husband do? Is he in a union? Are there hardship funds with his employer or trade?

Whilst payday loans are a bad idea, if you did it as a one off, can you repay it and have enough money to live on next month without ending up in a spiral of debt?

Ask friends for help? Family? Employers? Kids savings if it's a serious situation?

The last thing you want is to piss off your landlord and end up served with notice to quit....

The only feasible way you’ll get £200 today is by pawning or selling things worth £200. Any old mobile phones hanging around? Perhaps DH has a decent watch to pawn?

If your rent has “not gone out this morning” then for your landlord to have already clocked this and been on the phone demanding the money from you by 9am I’m assuming this is a pattern of late or non payment of rent. Your rent is your most important bill and you need to prioritise it. You can cancel your direct debit and be late with paying your gas and electric bill, they won’t cut you off for it, they’ll negotiate a payment plan for arrears. You can be late with all kinds of other bills and there will be a grace period. Prioritise your rent, you don’t want the threat of eviction hanging over your head to boot.

Suzi9989 · 12/04/2023 10:11

Is it possible to request or extend overdraft with your bank. Explain your current financial situation may be cheaper than some of these loan companies.

Family?
Work?

marmite2023 · 12/04/2023 10:12

Bank should be able to extend overdraft. Also contact teaching union for hardship loan. Consider contacting your school’s finance manager too and see if there is any way you can have a loan against next month’s wages.

marmite2023 · 12/04/2023 10:12

My suggestion is to try as many things as you can in the hope that one turns up.

could even consider a go fund me as it’s an emergency

TenoringBehind · 12/04/2023 10:16

My Local council are still desperately trying to recruit poll clerks for the elections on 4th May. You would get paid close to £200 for a very long day.

TenoringBehind · 12/04/2023 10:17

Wouldn’t pay the same day though.

ClaudiaCustard · 12/04/2023 10:17

I don't think there is anything you can do to make £200 in a huge panic tbh

Therefore, your best bet today is to inform your landlord that you're not able to make the full payment today and what agreement can you come to?

He/she can demand all they like but the fact is, they can't take what you don't have so I'd be appealing for a compromise

BodenCardiganNot · 12/04/2023 10:20

Have you family or friends who can lend you the money?

shiningstar2 · 12/04/2023 10:21

Op. If you are in a teaching union they might help. They sometimes give or loan small amounts to help members over a crisis. Think you are only able to do this once though.

Londontown12 · 12/04/2023 10:21

Take a personal loan from your bank that’s the safest way u can do it online and it’s fast x

PJRules · 12/04/2023 10:21

Why not the pawn shop? Jewelry and ganes consoles are portable and accepted. Don't just write it off.

Pay the LL what you can and tell him when he'll get the rest.

It takes pretty much a year to evict someone without fault and being £200 down for a few days isn't really 'fault'. It takes months even if there is 'fault' and costs best part of £2k. Make sure you know your rights.

DomPom47 · 12/04/2023 10:27

Could you reach out to family and friends?

TheBugWife · 12/04/2023 10:28

Pay what you have and give them a date for the rest and stick to it.

They won't start eviction proceedings for £200 - you would have paid it back before they could get a court date.

Gondala · 12/04/2023 10:31

I would contact stepchange. This £200 could otherwise be the start of a downward spiral, you need longer term help.

BestPizza · 12/04/2023 10:32

I fail to beleive this thread. You are two full time working professionals and you can't pay rent because your energy bill is huge?

What sort of accomodation do you live in and how many people - My annual forecast at current rates is £1350 for 2 adults and 2 DC who uses phone chargers and games consoles, used the CH sparingly over the winter, in a 3 bed semi-detached.

If you are really desperate could you take out a personal loan, use your credit card or overdraft, loan from family? Does your rent cost only £200pcm?

Holliboobies · 12/04/2023 10:32

Can you call your bank and increase your over draft?

ShowUs · 12/04/2023 10:32

Are you paying the monthly rent?

If so I’d speak to LL and say you’re paying the weekly rent and then you’ll pay the rest next week.

If you are good at paying regularly then he shouldn’t have an issue and tbh what can he do if you don’t pay in full, especially if you’re actually still up to date with the rent.

That will give you a few more days to get some money together.

Why are you paying for the funeral?
Can you not share the cost with a family member or see if there is a payment plan available?

WonderingWanda · 12/04/2023 10:32

@rocketlocket1 Ring your union and see if they can help through their hardship fund.

Whattodo112222 · 12/04/2023 10:32

Another one for an overdraft extension!
