Octopus Saving Sessions

Anyone signed up for this? Payments for shifting your energy use away from peak times/within a given timeslot each day.

I got 30p from the 2 sessions combined.

34p for me!

I got £5.34 from those 2 session, but I was discharging my battery to the grid.

Thank you OP and all of the other posters for making me aware of the Octopus Savings sessions, having just been a 'spinthewheel' monthly meter reading giver.

My total converted Octopoints balance is now £4.27 after 3 Saving Sessions and the meter readings @ 16 points pcm. Better than a kick in the teeth as the old saying goes. Hopefully the spring and more warmer days won't be long coming and the 'worst' for this year, 'heat' wise, will be soon behind us. And then I'll use my Octopoints.

Next savings session is 18.00 to 18.30 this evening!!! 😊

Bumping this as we are about to join octopus. Is this running again this winter?

It's not completely clear, @Decafflatteplease . Octopus have been running 'reverse Octopus' sessions over the last few weeks when you can get electricity for free during certain periods. So far I have made a staggering 63p. And their website says it will be back in the winter. The national grid's website say it isn't planning to use it for winter contingency this year, but I think make it available year round to cope with peaks and troughs of demand.

So hopefully yes is the answer. I do enjoy our winter savings sessions.

Agreed! Waste of time now the rewards have been reduced so much. I missed opting in to the session this evening, as they only notified by email which is my partner's. I was relying on an app or WhatsApp notification.

Oh 😞 we weren't with octopus last year so nothing to compare it to. They are saying 60p paid per kWh now. What was it last year?
