ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2019 00:15

Hi again Mo! I think we have DDs almost the same age iirc. How’s that going?

I get a lie in tomorrow before DH naffs off to this stag do from midday. Bet he’s useless on Sunday too... he’ll owe me one Wink

ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2019 00:24

Oh Curvy thanks for the tips. I’ll check out the YouTube stuff gonoodle when the kids aren’t around (they’re like a moth to a flame with screens Hmm)

SnugglySnerd · 12/01/2019 05:34

Enjoy your week off North.

We seem to be back to waking up at 5 am here. DD2 is "helping" me type. She gets nappy rash when teething Meadow.

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 06:33

North enjoy your week off

Welcome back mo

I could have had a lie in today but dd woke up at 5:45. She can get up herself but she wanted to ask if it was ok 🙄 now I can't sleep. Should be nsd as not doing anything but housework and homework.

Unescorted · 12/01/2019 07:06

Morning.

I have been woken up by the rain. I too will be having a day of housework. The joy. Or otherwise I may take to my bed and ignore it all.

Mo sorry I missed your return. Welcome back.

Fuel for the car today. £50. House work and stuff in the attic to make way for the kitchen toys. Kitchen floor next week.

ememem84 · 12/01/2019 08:22

Riding today £30.

Was going to go out on the garden but it’s chucking down with rain. So riding will be fun. ☔️☔️

Ds was awake at 6 this morning. Dh brought him into our bed for a bit and then about half hour ago they went down for breakfast. I’ll head down in a bit.

No other spends planned. Although if dh decides to go to watch the rugby I may take ds to the garden centre and may get a lemon tree (or some discounted Christmas decorations...)

Wolfcub · 12/01/2019 08:24

Morning all
Welcome back Mo
Disturbed nights sleep here. Seem to have spent the night half awake and tossing and turning
Taking ds to contact in a bit which I’m furious about as it means he’s missing something else he does. Will stop at garden centre on way home for some fat balls and maybe a pot of some nice plants if there is one.

Then I plan on doing a few garden jobs and then attacking the fridge freezer. We will have sausages from it for tea I think as I have some eggs that are last date today and I can make Yorkers or toad in the hole

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 08:31

Em I get new Christmas decs in January every year then it's like they're brand new come December as I've forgotten about them! I usually get 2/3 individual ones.

MissingMo · 12/01/2019 08:57

Morning all, thanks for the welcomes.
happier sounds like a great holiday to look forward to, and a very good price for glamping I think, I've watched a lot of 4 in a bed.
sea yes we do have similar aged DDs, it's going okay, I'm trying to get her to eat more foods. She loves pasta but any type of potato bar chips are just batted away, also she still wakes up for cuddles in the night. Must try and curb that.

At work today but I've bought in leftovers for lunch, luckily I'm finishing at 5.30 so won't need dinner here either. No planned spends but bought breakfast £2.02. Have a few parcels to pick up so hopefully won't be tempted by the sales in the shops.

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 09:06

Mo my dc don't like potato either. They eat loads of pasta! Plus couscous, rice (ds not dd 🙄), wraps, lentils etc so I tend not to worry.

Ggreengrass1 · 12/01/2019 09:24

Oh no just lost my postAngry
Been for a run doing couch 25k, on WK 8, knackered but proud!Smile
£91 yesterday new pans ( last ones falling to bits ) and plates ( collateral shopping ..whoops!)Smile
Need to remind dh to move money out of savings to cover tax bill so we don't go of.
Sad
Rare hot date with dh tonight so won't be. Nsd.
Hope everyone is OK, Flowers Its so hard to get tone with text so things are so easily misunderstood. I value everyone on here, even though I might not agree with everyone, if you get what I mean. I don't really like conflict so I certainly don't want to reignite a heated debate.
A load of paperwork arrived for D's pip tribunal yesterday, have looked at it briefly, lots of inaccuracies from DWP, wanting for info from tribunal people to tell me what I need to do next, but trying v hard not to let it stress me. Just have to do the best I can for my son.Smile

northender · 12/01/2019 09:26

Welcome back Mo
Sorry things are tough for you life
Meadow love your baby group story, well done to your dd for sitting up!

Today looks grey and damp out. Dh and I are going to go and look at mattresses, so that we can put a stop to mattressgate! So may be spendy, but worth it.

Ds has first training session today. This is pre Tobago which he is doing again in February, as captain this time, which in cricket is a big deal. Without going into too much boring detail, from now until the season starts, he has club training on a Wednesday, 3 Sat or Sunday nets for Tobago, and 8 Saturday nets through an Academy scheme he's been selected for & 3 Sunday's training to be a coach; then the season starts! Fortunately we planned & booked a family weekend in Edinburgh before all this was offered so we have got that to come in 3 weeks time. Cricket is quite all consuming.

Need to go shopping today, but have done well not getting top up shops this week.
Frugal thing for yesterday was that even though we didn't have much in for lunches, I took enough healthy things to work to stop me from buying unhealthy stuff.

Unescorted · 12/01/2019 09:30

wolf we had toads earlier in the week. Very scrummy.

Em I hated riding in the rain. The leather went slimy and I felt I had no control.

Make me get out of bed..... I need to do washing, postings, yoga and a run.

Morning all
Hi Mo.
Housework today so should be a NSD.

ememem84 · 12/01/2019 11:03

unescorted the ponies are usually more responsive in the rain! But yeah I don’t enjoy it. I tend not to wear waterproofs as I feel like I’m slipping around on the saddle.

Luckily (fingers crossed) the rain seems to have just come down in one big lump. At 730.

We’ve been to local hospice shop and had a look for a something for bathroom storage. Came back with (or it will be delivered on Friday for an extra £20) a wardrobe for ds’ room. £60 including delivery. It’s got a shelf, two rails and is solid pine. Bargain.

Wolfcub · 12/01/2019 11:39

£12 garden centre fat balls, fat ball feeder, birthday card for dm, baps and reduced cream as we have some cooking apples from Christmas that I was going to bake

SnugglySnerd · 12/01/2019 12:41

Welcome back Mo.

Bit of a spendy morning. Few bits from Sainsbury's and butcher. Also bought some of my favourite things from Lush in the sale and one of their bubble bath bars for the dcs in a further attempt to reduce plastic (as it's not in a bottle like their usual sort). I had a gift card so only spent £6.
Also returned 2 items to Jojo and got £12 refund so actually actually not so spendy after all!

moimichme · 12/01/2019 13:09

Hi all, hope you're all well and that the weather stays dry where you are. And that long-standing posters will return soon. I feel a bit down today with the grey sky. I should make an effort and go out anyway!

NSD on Thursday but £34 on used (eBay) power cable for my laptop (to be fair, it's 10 years old now so that's not too bad really!) and £7.00 ish yesterday for food and coffee at work with a colleague, which I didn't strictly need. But ah well. Today should be NSD I hope.

Meal plan for this week:
Stir fry with veg and fancy tofu with rice
Pasta with aubergine pesto and butter beans
Satay tofu and veg with rice (...1st attempt, wish me luck!)
Mexican refried bean and rice tortillas
Cauliflower and chickpea Thai red coconut curry
Leftover pasta with homemade veg sauce
Lentil (vegan) shepherds pie

Will try and bring coffee and lunch (2 rolls with fillings and a big salad) plus snacks every day this week!

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2019 13:18

£7 butcher's, £1.80 hard ware shop, £1.42 bakers,

NursieBernard · 12/01/2019 13:28

I haven't posted for a while but have still been reading.

I hope things improve for all those having a tough time at the moment Flowers

Frugaleering not going too well here at the moment as DS1 & DS2 have their birthdays in the next week and mine was a couple of days ago (it was a milestone birthday too) Once these are out of the way it should hopefully get easier.

I'm loving the sharing of meal plans as it's given me some new ideas Smile

I hope everyone has a great weekend

ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2019 13:33

That is a good bargain Em!

My dd doesn’t like potatoes either. I am sure it’s only a matter of time. Pasta is a staple here too, I worry they don’t eat enough other stuff but they honestly won’t eat a huge variety of carbs.

North sounds as though your DS is doing brilliantly at cricket. How’s he doing with the other stuff? I seem to recall he was having a hard time last year

ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2019 13:40

Happy birthday Nursie!

Lovemaltesers · 12/01/2019 13:43

Still struggling away with my assignment. I am going to finish it this weekend

Should be NSD
