I tidied the hob area! Grin

Justanothermile · 11/01/2019 16:56

Love all the colours sneaky too, plus the tidy hob!

seacow - yes, along with all the other good folk. I'm really pissed off.

Wolfcub · 11/01/2019 17:06

I’ve been reading a few bits on the brexit prep threads today because I got interested in one about vegetable freezing. I’m going to try the bag to freeze odds and ends of veg to make soup with once it’s full. But first I must empty the freezer of everything and defrost it to see if that fixes it’s leaking/defrosting problem. Operation eat the freezer has begun

Tomorrow I’m going to buy fat balls for the birds on the way home from dropping ds off for contact I think.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/01/2019 17:14

What's the blue and black behind your hob sneaky? I likes it.

Went to Sainsbury's for convenience as CBA to go to Aldi £104 later - faints. £31 Argos but that was on vouchers.

Come back fluffy et al

Evening all just logging on, so tired! Work was hectic, am going to have to do some work tonight to catch up as well 😕

Dd has gone off to her grandads for the weekend as I'm working, she packed her own case and am now wondering if she has remembered pj's and underwear!!

Anyway managed a nsd.

Yy to the thread returning to normal 😊

Will try and prop the top of my bed up not sure how though 😂

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2019 18:41

I need to eat the freezer (not all at once). It’s a disgrace.

Jam FFS. I’m pissed off too. That’s no good at all, Fluffy is our Frugal Queen. However, surely SOME of the good folk are still here? WinkGrin

Nursery has brushed DD’s hair today. I never brush it except when wet because she’s a curly top. She looks like a dandelion clock now. Do you think they are trying to send me a message about her rather feral appearance? Grin. Must find those hair clips from her stocking.

Meal plan for the next week (may change the order about:

Steak and salad (just for me tomorrow night when DH is out at a stag do 😋)
Roast chicken dinner, roast pots, leeks and cauli cheese
Chicken arrabiata pasta (with the chook leftovers)
Salmon and tomato curry, green beans, rice
Pulled pork from freezer (slow cooker leftovers from NY, so good!) with jacket pots and hm coleslaw
Beef satay stir fry (peppers, sugar snaps and what not)

Lunches will be chicken salad (with chook leftovers) and pea and ham soup for me.

Ocado is about £90 atm but I’m sure it’ll go up before the cut off. I will need to buy soft fruit separately.

I’m making Lonely’s flapjacks tomorrow in tribute. DS will be ecstatic.

WreckTangled · 11/01/2019 18:46

Sea do your dc eat the same as you?

Wolfcub · 11/01/2019 18:48

Grr so as well as the freezer leaking and defrosting the fridge is now freezing things. Going to investigate and clear out drainage holes tomorrow. I did the fridge one just before Xmas but there may be one in the freezer

Great meal plan Sea

Lovemaltesers · 11/01/2019 19:03

I've only just had time to read today, if you are missing me SmileStill to catch up on the day....

Justanothermile · 11/01/2019 19:09

I can’t think of any seacow, only riffraff 😂 (joke, folks...!).

That’s a great idea - flapjack in tribute will be made tomorrow.

Menu plan sounds fab and I’m vegan!

Missed you love😁

Cagliostro · 11/01/2019 19:09

I’m still here seacow don’t worry 😜😂

Nooooo we cannot lose the fluffster 😭😭😭

9.15pm I couldn’t possibly do that 😂 not that I’m asleep then, but I wouldn’t have the energy to swim. Bad enough it’s at 8pm.

We are hoping to manage just one month as it’s a fair price 😬 but I’ve been pondering doing something like this for a long time (in fact I’ve probably talked about it on here before). But never got round to it because fitting it around DH’s work etc... not easy. So I’m thinking now is “my time” IYSWIM. I may not have the opportunity again so while he’s off I will make the most of it.

Need to discuss meal planning with him too. Obviously it’s very different while he’s off - far less pressure on me which I really can’t explain HOW good that is. But also more need to cater to his coeliac. Less need to batch cook but I’d still like to.

Lovemaltesers · 11/01/2019 19:13

That's very frustrating about the invoices seacow and Hmmabout DDs hair. Although my daughter has come back from nursery with braided hair. I pretend to myself they have been playing hairdressers rather than my lack of hair ability

How frustrating about the fridge and freezer wolf

sneaky the others here will give you good cooking techniques. I'm rubbish!

Waves to everyone else including those who are in hiding. Come baaaaaacccck!

I bought Aldi pull ups to try for DD2 for nighttime today. She's almost dry and at almost half the price of Tesco will hopefully work. Going to try to lose the night time nappy over the summer when it is easier to dry bedding. £5ish including snacks too.

Cagliostro · 11/01/2019 19:15

Basically it’s breathing that is my issue. I have terrible coordination and trying to do the proper breathing at the right time, in combination with making sure my face is either in or out of the water at the right time and what my hands and feet are doing, I’m just a mess really 😂 I did try a nose clip as it was only a couple of quid when I went into decathlon to get equally cheap goggles. But I have to hang my head in shame and say unsurprisingly unescorted was of course right. It was great not having the water up my nose, but I got really out of breath. So I’m just gonna have to woman up and accept the sensory hell that is water up my nose. Any advice would be much appreciated 😳😳😳

I may well get the swimming membership at some point, I think I’d need to go 5 times a month for it to be worthwhile. But that’s for the future depending what happens with DH

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2019 19:18

Wreck hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

No.

WreckTangled · 11/01/2019 19:22

Well I did wonder Grin my friends son will only eat Birdseye nuggets and he knows if they're another brand! She has a nightmare with him.

SneakyGremlins · 11/01/2019 19:31

Anyone want to see my wok in action Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2019 19:31

In terms of main meals DS eats pasta (tomato veg sauce or macaroni cheese), cheese and tomato pizza or roast potatoes. Sometimes he will eat a piece of carrot. I had a stunning victory the other week when he ate a sausage. However, we can at least have a roast dinner together now (with a bowl of tomatoes on the side for DS by way of veg Hmm). I think he might eat chicken one day, I live in hope. Dd will eat all of a roast dinner except the potatoes. She would also have a go at most of that meal plan if eating at the same time as us, but if we give it to her on her own she’s not interested. Unfortunately we only eat dinner together at weekends because DH isn’t home till 7pm. I sometimes eat leftovers for lunch with her to get her interested. It didn’t really work with my veg curry this week though!

Wolfcub · 11/01/2019 19:31

WreckTangled · 11/01/2019 19:39

Yes sneaky!

Sea it sounds like he eats a good range.

Ds has had stomach issues for a while now I think I need to get him checked out by the gp. I always put it down to toddler diarrhoea then down to withholding at school but I don't think it can be. Two accidents in four days, it would be awful for him if it happened at school. Plus he always has awful wind, which I've put down to being a boy Grin but given the amount of autoimmune disease in my family i suppose it could be something more.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 11/01/2019 19:40

Evening all.
The conference was really good and at lunch there were lots of vegan options, I was a happy bunny!

All of you that have children should Google Gonoodle, it's great and gets kids moving.

There was a speaker there called Richard Hirstwood and he goes all around the world creating sensory rooms and is passionate about kids with ASD.
His website is www.hirstwood.com
Anyone can go on there and he wants you to nick ideas and use them. He is on YouTube and has 'how to video's' on all sorts and is on Facebook. I thought it would be good for cag and sea as your DCs are still young.
And nocuts, you work in a nursery too? Have a look!
