Aaah wow meadow I’m so relieved for you ❤️💐 sounds like an awful experience I’m sorry you had to go through that. Be kind to yourself x

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 11:45

Meadow I’m sorry it was such a horrid experience but it’s a great outcome. Well done

LonelyOversharer · 04/01/2019 12:07

meadow bloody well done FlowersFlowers this is epic news. And will take a lot of the stress out of your daily life. In both money terms and stressing over the tribunal terms. I am very pleased for you. Plus your payments will start as of yesterday? So even if you have to wait a bit then it will be backdated. So happy. You can breathe and start to live a bit now. How is dd getting along?

Just dropped dd1 and her uber sensible boyfriend at our local village. Spent £23 in the local hardware shop on 2 swing bins for chicken and ferret food, no more will I have sacks falling over and spilling. Cheaper than buying feed bins on amazon too. And some more pegs.

We plumped for an 8kg Candy tumble dryer at £189. It is coming on tuesday. I figure if it goes for 4 years then it will be the same as a £400 item that lasts 8.5 yrs. We shall see if I've made a mistake or not in due course. I paid using paypal, so not from my current account, and not on credit.

Right, back to cleaning where I cleared yesterday. It already looks so much better.

Lovemaltesers · 04/01/2019 12:12

Good news meadow, sorry it was such a tough experience. But you did it!!! Thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/01/2019 12:15

Thank you Unescorted.

catching up from pg 33- 35 of old thread
Meadow that's fantastic sorry you'd to jump through hoops to get there but delighted for you with the outcome.

Em that coat sounds like a really good deal

At Dunnes yesterday I started a savings stamps card - just €2 but will put something on it every week, and it'll be there for dd's communion/Christmas week/whatever emergency.

Girlie I've some Tunisian money I'll take a pic later for you, I'm not likely to return there and maybe some old Irish money, I'll give a look.

nocuts great to see you back on the thread, I was Lilacclery I'd say last time you were here.

Decluttering is majorly needed here - going to start with shoes just because jam mentioned them, and I'm going to get rid of any Christmas decorations I don't like also.

Still don't know which night H is having dc, I was planning on taking them to local panto tonight, I'll go with my friend if they're not with me, and I've been invited for Women's Christmas Meal tomorrow night but can't commit as don't know when dc are with me.

Saw a communion dress for dd yesterday, she likes one and I love another so hoping to go again tomo and make a purchase they're -€300+- but I've one dd and I'm going to spoil her for once. Dm will help out but going to get her to buy shoes and accessories.

Love your garmin lonely #wearabletrackerenvy Grin

laska pity about your card being scammed but good about no bill. I didn't use credit card at all this Christmas as I'm working on getting cc debt free. If I can keep up €550 payments I'll get there by Sept. Will get the 0% one cleared in time and then worry about the remaining few hundred euro left on the other one. Want to close one but don't want to pay government charge so leaving it for a while.

north that's absolute shit of your bil - if he wanted to sell it he should've just done that, not given it to ye.

oooh em tidying up on Netflix is going on my list now -that's not procrastination is it?-

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 12:49

Congrats Meadow!

Lonely Candy washing machine is a bit temperamental.

MeadowHay · 04/01/2019 12:54

It will be an epic amount of money for us as it is being backdated til when I first put my claim in which was autumn 2016 Shock! We will use a good few grand to pay off debts that are hanging over us and then the rest will just be to help so we hopefully won't need to borrow any more money from my parents, until DH graduates and gets a job in spring 2020. I have to do lots of sums when we get it through but might mean we can also afford insurance for DH to get a car when he passes his test (hopefully soon, he has his 2nd attempt in a few weeks), and maybe driving lessons for me too. I have to give the welfare rights organisation that represented me £250 from my award I think, but I am probably going to give them a grand of it because without them I would have none of it anyway and they will use it to help other people like me.

Gas man is here finishing fixing up our new boiler. NSD for me today I think but DH has popped up the road to the shops to get some bits n bobs.

DD is very cry-y as usual but she's constipated atm I think. We tried her on Gaviscon just on the off chance it was silent reflux making her cry all the time, I didn't want to because she already sometimes struggles with bowel movements but the GP insisted he wouldn't consider prescribing anything else for it unless we'd tried the Gaviscon so against my better judgement we did and her constipation has gotten so bad that yesterday she couldn't drink much milk and at one point she drank like 2oz and then it all immediately came flooding back out of her mouth and nose and she got really distressed it was heartbreaking Sad. She is passing bowel movements but they are much more solid than before and her tummy is bloated and she screams and strains and can't drink as much milk etc Sad. They had no appts for this morning but told DH to call again this afternoon to see if they could squeeze her in then, so we can try and get some ranitidine or omeprazole to try her on. I don't think it is reflux but after nearly 7 months of near-constant crying I am desperate Sad.

LonelyOversharer · 04/01/2019 13:35

meadow I think it is time for you to push for a referral to see a pead, if you haven't already. This sounds much harder than a grizzly baby. Could you take her to an ooh walk in, to bypass the gp? Our ooh is brilliant and in the hospital but our town is a very small one, I'm not sure how the ones in big cities with a large populations work.

Note to self. Not cleaning windows since the windows were put in makes them very, very dirty. We have agreed to do them every couple of months...I am optimistically leaning towards a cleaning rota Shock

ememem84 · 04/01/2019 13:48

meadow awesome!! Bloody well done!! You must be so relieved.

£290 gym membership. This is for 6 months. Until I’m no longer able to fit in my gym pants (they will be stretched to the max). It comes with 5 sessions with a trainer (plus an induction). I told the gym I’m preggo and they said they’d hook me up with a trainer who was qualified in pre and post natal training. Hoorah. 😊 so back to the gym on Monday. Woooop.

Thread here if anyone can help Smile

WreckTangled · 04/01/2019 13:57

Meadow I'm pleased you're finally getting somewhere it sounds like it's been truly awful for you. I'm not a fan of gaviscon for babies. I think they should all be out straight onto ranitidine if needed. Is dd sitting up yet?

Girlie not really. I don't really like talking.

I had a fog light out but they've had to order it in so I have to go back somewhen. Pretty annoying as it's hardly local. Spent too much money too.

AdoraBell · 04/01/2019 14:00

Thanks Unescorted Thanks

Frugal win, got some fruit and 3 salad bowls free, leftover after volunteering stint. Off to buy apples now.

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/01/2019 14:33

I had a good afternoon, and dh says I can tell you our news now.

Dh has accepted a new job and is on garden leave from his current one for three months, so I will have company at home. Yay! For the last year he's had a job that was so intense that I only saw him for 20 minute twice a day, but now he has changed to a different once that I think (hope) will be better. It's a big salary reduction but I will be very glad to have him happier and maybe a bit more available. Yay!

Also I had my appointment and the man says that I need to learn to be more assertive so that I don't end up bottling up a lot of emotions that then go on to cause digestive and sensory trouble. I've to start with small assertiveness things and work up to harder ones. I'm getting 12 weeks of CBT when I get to the top of the queue.

Well done Meadow. You are the bravest person ever. You're going to be the best lawyer in the world after all this.

Sorry I haven't read back in detail yet. I hope everybody is okay. Fingers all crossed for Girlie.

Happierwithouthim · 04/01/2019 14:46

lonely your story of walking the dog reminded me I bought walking boots in Lidl a few years ago for a hike, wore them in snow last March and then H took his wellies with him when he left and I debated buying a pair but didn't and used my walking boots instead to go down to the hens, now I'm faced with how to clean them, could they go in the washing machine does anyone know? Or do I just brush off the dirt and live with the smell Blush

I've visions of the '2' tin getting lots of use with the frugaleers, like a round robin.

wreck that's worrying that it's the second time your dh has done this in a month, you'll have to discuss it at some point.

laska join us on frugaleers weight loss thread and then you'll get those leather leggings Grin

em get neilmed sinus rinse, it's amazing, weird but works so well that doesn't matter and eliminates sinus headache. Your ds sounds super cute.

Loving the swimming talk, I collect my prescription goggles next Thurs and hope to swim more regularly then.

I need a bin for my bathroom, current one is missing its insert for longer than I remember and I put in my contacts there every single day so have to remember to take away the packets so it's time to get a new bin. I hate buying stuff for house because I know I'm not going to be staying there.

autumn that sounds like a fantastic result from your appointment.

It's bittersweet reading back the advice about poor behaviour from spouses and how it's not ok, you guys told me that for years here and it took me until 11 months ago to take the advice.

My dm was feeling sorry for me Christmas Eve and said I'm sorry that you'll be alone for Christmas and that it'll be hard and I replied and said don't be sorry for me, I asked every Christmas for no more fighting and to be happy and I've got that now so it's a good Christmas for me not a sad one.

I'm not comparing your dh to mine wreck just it brings it all back to me, I'm sure your dh has many redeeming qualities and I hope this will just be a blip.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/01/2019 14:48

Blimey meadow bloody well done but I am furious on your behalf at our country for making you (and other vulnerable people) go through something so traumatic. This government are shameless and I despair at the lack of basic human compassion.

autumn that all sounds very positive, will you have to rethink your food budget if dh's salary goes down?

wreck please find someone to confide in, I'm worried about you xx

We're back from the trampoline park, girls had fun. They had a slushie each which came to nearly a tenner 😮 they are refillable but even so!! I felt robbed so told the girls to keep the cups to smuggle in next time 😂

Am going to go through and start pming you re coins this arvo....

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 14:53

Can I have the "2" tin next year? I'll be 22 in 2020 Grin

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/01/2019 14:56

Girlie Thanks for thinking of it. It's a 30% reduction but we're okay still. One of the good things about the frugaleering is that I was able to tell dh quite categorically that we could manage if he took this salary cut, and I'm proud of that. I'd rather have him here to talk to, then the money.

AutumnLeaves12 · 04/01/2019 14:58

We'll make you a cake Sneaky Smile

Cagliostro · 04/01/2019 15:02

I would ask to be in the 2 tin mailing list, but I am proper shit at baking.

I’m feeling refreshed as I had some nice child free time at home, with nothing but anime on Netflix and my piano for company (DSD gave me the greatest showman music book for Christmas, I loves her!) bliss!

DH did various errands, including going to the bank as nearly £50 went out that we couldn’t identify, they were brilliant in NatWest looking into it, he’s got the money back already and they have added it to the investigate list etc.

He’s signed off for the rest of this month. He can do his other charity work still though (it’s the physical nature of his main retail job that is the problem, he’s still in pain constantly but at least he can do the emails etc from home and go to meetings etc) so we still have a little income from that as well as sick pay.

SneakyGremlins · 04/01/2019 15:06

I'm brilliant at baking but my kitchen is tiny! No room really.

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 15:19

Meadow I agree with the advice to push for a paeds referral and possibly allergy testing. I will tell you one thing that helped ds, he doesn’t sound anything like as bad as you dd so I’m just sharing info and do with it what you will. Ds couldn’t tolerate the fish content in formula milk. When we switched to vegetarian fish free milk (hipp organic) his symptoms improved massively. They didn’t go but he was clearly in an awful lot less discomfort and bowels etc improved.

Cag if you make a cake with yogurt/sour cream or creme fraiche it will be a success. Trust me. I can supply recipes.

Autumn good news on both fronts

Happier big hugs for you Flowers you are a super strong superstar

Wolfcub · 04/01/2019 15:21

£3 Starbucks at the cinema. I’ve stopped taking a bag out with me to give my back/shoulder a break. Works great for the shoulder but nowhere to hide my contigo. The barista was very interested in my coat, he’d not done a british winter before and wanted something warm and dry

ememem84 · 04/01/2019 15:57

Yes to sinus rinse! It was on my list for tonight. I’ve done it before and it leaves my nose dripping for a few days. Best bit to do it on a school night!!
