Dh has just come up and told me he’s just sent a text to his mum. Suggesting she comes in September. For ds’ birthday (late sept). He’s also said that her coming is cash dependant. For her not us. We’re not paying for her flights.

Either way. I must not worry about it. Must worry about myself. And baby. So no stress.

Too many posts for me to catch up so I'm just going to post my spends & keep up from here.

Centra €25.30 washing powder(last box 10th Oct) & some other bits of shopping, want to support local shop too.
Washing powder was €10 vs €8 in Iceland but it saved me from all the other things I'd have bought Grin
Dunnes €100.30
I sorted out my freezer before I went & the hens will be well fed & there's plenty of food in there too.

This morning I will clean downstairs & mop floors while house is empty, go for a swim, do some tidying of my room & go for a run with my friend in the afternoon.

Putting a chicken in slow cooker & am thinking of putting potatoes for stuffing in there too to get flavour, has anyone here cooked potatoes in slow cooker?
I'm thinking foil balls/trivet to raise them from base so that I'll have some stock for gravy & then potatoes on that & chicken on top?
Going to make yorkies too I think 🤔

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2019 09:23

Sound like dh had it in hand em. Don't stress.
I found SC baked potatoes a bit soggy. Nice but soggy. I am however a fuss arse and don't like wet food.

moimichme · 13/01/2019 09:57

Jam yes, we're vegan here and have no chickens of our own, so no eggs either! I'm glad my meal plan is providing some inspiration for others. Smile It is helping reduce our eating out, even if we're not being as strict as we could be.

Our cat has become so much braver since I first got her...she wouldn't even come out from under the bed to eat at first! Now she has slowly got the idea of going outside, although she still tends to hover half in and half out trying to decide what to do!

Is it odd that ds's health visitor hasn't been in touch at all for his 18-24 months visit? I think he's doing fine overall but am curious about his height and weight...

WreckTangled · 13/01/2019 10:01

We don't do 18-24 month visits in this area. It's 9-12 month then 2.5yrs. You could always take him to a baby clinic they'll do his height and weight for you. They're probably behind.

Unescorted · 13/01/2019 10:10

em it sounds as if he has it under control.
Wolf I have to go out later and it looks grim. It is windy as well. You have my sympathy.

The boys are off to Strathpuffer this weekend so I will have my car. I plan on doing my stock up. Our local Aldi is already getting shelf gaps.

Yep. He has it in hand for once. Yay. Obviously our talk mid last year re me and mil has stuck with him.

I’m up. Showered and am about to empty the understairs cupboard and tidy it.

Wish me luck!

moimichme · 13/01/2019 10:19

Oh thanks Wreck. We both work on the baby clinic afternoon, so that's why we haven't brought him there. But I'm not too worried, he is small for his age, but I was, too. We can wait a bit longer.

Lovemaltesers · 13/01/2019 11:01

£43 on what was meant to be a few bits in Tesco Hmm

Assignment just needs it's final check for typos/making sense which I will do one evening this week

This afternoon I am starting on the next assignment. This one should be more interesting as it's on something more relevant.

Cleaning, ironing to do too today.

Happy Sunday everyone

Lovemaltesers · 13/01/2019 11:03

Do you think our regulars might return once we start a new thread? Looking forward to this one being finished to be honest

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2019 11:28

We could be very unfrugal and just start a new one........ Cluches pearls, leaves thread........

£1033.60 in IKEA.

Wolfcub · 13/01/2019 12:22

I think a clean slate is a good idea

ememem84 · 13/01/2019 12:23

What did you get in Ikea? Just a load of meatballs and tea lights?! Haha.

Under stairs cupboard tidied.

Want to use this as my “stockpile” have said to dh anything he sees as cheap in the supermarket - tins etc but and keep stuff like tinned tomatoes baked beans etc.
