Shit, positive LFT

Just posting for some sympathy and a bit of a rant really. Whole family did LFTs today before seeing family tomorrow and mine is positive. I've booked a PCR for 9am tomorrow morning but that's our Christmas ruined. Fuck
I'm triple jabbed and have had Covid before, had it in April 2020 before there was community testing available.
I suspect I got it at the pantomime I went to earlier in the week but who really knows

We were meant to be going to different family members tomorrow and Boxing Day. So we have no Christmas dinner. I haven't told my 9 yr old yet....

We are the same, surprise positive LFT. We have ordered our favourite takeaway and gone all out on sides and starters to be delivered tonight to reheat tomorrow and we are making the best of it, hope you manage to too. Luckily we had plenty of booze in. DD is the positive and only 11 and feeling bad/guilty so we have smiles plastered on and will proclaim it the best chriissssstmassssss everrrrrrrr

Just wanted to post to say sorry for all of you in this position and thank you on behalf of all the strangers out there who you don't know, but who you'll be protecting by staying in with the positive LTF. It's so shit that it's Christmas but you're doing the right thing to help limit/control the spread of the virus.

Can I join you on the pity fest. DH tested positive this morning, the rest of us are clear. We did have an emergency turkey!

We're the same. DH tested positive on LFT this am. We both got a PCR today at 5. It's really really shit. We had a massive family meal planned for ours tomorrow. All cancelled. DS is gutted. We're trying to put a brave face on it but I could cry.

I tested positive on Wednesday - no symptoms whatsoever. My family still want to visit; Christmas will go as planned.

We are in the same position, DH tested positive last weekend. We thought tomorrow would be freedom day but DD(12) tested positive on a LFT last night, I was at the PCR test site with her at opening today.

At least we knew in advance, my niece and DGM (who were both on the shielding list) were meant to be seeing us at my DPs on Christmas day, the decision had already been taken that my family couldn't go. I was out buying food for Christmas Day earlier in the week. All my daily LFTs (and the other 2 DC) have so far been negative.

Same here. I was expecting 10 for dinner tomorrow. I had a positive LFT yesterday and waiting on my PCR but I’ve had to cancel everyone. Gutted.

So Sorry OP that's so crap! I wondered if anyone has actually had a positive on a LFT then negative PCR (so a false positive?) My mum tested positive on LFT (absolutely no symptoms so total shock) and we are awaiting PCR results, but we are clutching at straws and hope it's a false positive.

Also, I wondered if anyone had any idea of return times - she did her a PcR at 11am this morning - we are praying for a quick turn around. In the south east, but not London!

I'm sorry to hear of everyone else in the same situation. What a shit situation we all find ourselves in. Perhaps we could all get together and have a "Covid Christmas" (joke)

Has happened to 6 people in know. We were already in that situation and we can't socialise until Boxing Day!

Also in the same boat. 3 positive lateral flows for me & a dc with a little cough. Took pcrs at lunchtime.

Praying for a Christmas miracle with negative Text message in the morning but I’m not holding my breath.

Was it a flowflex test? As someone up thread asked.
I always test positive with that brand, but pcr and other brands give me negative on same day. Hope you feel ok and that you get negative pcr quickly

My sister tested positive on LFT the other day and had plans to go elsewhere for dinner. Dh bought her enough food for a few days plus Christmas Dinner and we took it over to her house yesterday. Now 2 more in her family are positive leaving 1 still negative on LFT. They have done postal PCR tests but who knows when they will get the results.

I tested positive on Monday - day after arriving at the holiday house we'd rented for all our family. Follow up pcr's positive for me, dh and both dc.
