According to another thread on here anyway.

Has anyone else heard this?

On the other thread it sounds as if it will be in 2 weeks time.

"Why do people with LDs get to have bodily autonomy exceptions that the rest of us aren't allowed, I wonder. What is the principle being applied there?"

Is the only option for you to have the vaccine, being restrained?

F🏑**ing he’ll. What is the world coming to?

@middleager

My son can't have the vaccine in school next week as he's just had Covid. If vaccinators don't come back then he's too young to just get the vaccine. He will be stuck. What about those situations?
what age is he? He won't get a Covid pass anyway if he's under 18 it's not supported.
Geamhradh · 02/10/2021 15:26

@Swirlysnail

"Luckily, most of the people you describe came under the CEV umbrella and were vaccinated as a priority, weren't they?"

Their condition meant they were a priority but they may not have been able to be vaccinated.

True, but given the very small number of people who absolutely cannot be vaccinated, I'd imagine by far and away the vast majority were.
Hairwizard · 02/10/2021 15:28

The attitudes on this thread are fucking disgusting.

Vax or no i dont give a flying fuck if you are/arent.
Likewise everyone else should think so. If you are jabbed then you are protected are you not?
You can still transmit can you not so what the fuck is the point of a vax cert to prove you had it? What difference does it make if vax works?

Penfield · 02/10/2021 15:31

I agree @Hairwizard

These attitudes stink to say the least.

These can’t be real people surely. But even if they were Russian bottoms or Boris bottoms - what good would these insane comments do?

The world has gone truly mad.

Isn't it totally opposite of what you are insinuating? They are exempt, because it may be only option to get them vaccinated is by restraining them, and they don't have to.
Caspianberg · 02/10/2021 15:34

Im in another Eu country. We have had and been using the covid passports since June. It’s really easy and not exactly a hardship. Anyone who needs help can get it.

It’s also not just a case of choosing not to have as you won’t fly. We need it to access day to day things like school, doctors, public transport. Not just concerts or flights.

We also can’t def decide to be ‘except’ from wearing a Ffp2 grade mask. No fabric masks allowed. If you can’t wear a mask for a valid reason, you need it signed off by doctor or similar.

Penfield · 02/10/2021 15:34

I’ve no idea @Megistotherium

I’ve lost all sense of this thread now.

People with a severe learning disability or severe autism would not mainly have been classed as CEV. They will have been difficult to vaccinate and clinics would have varied how much they were prepared to accommodate. In some cases restraint would be required and this is always a difficult decision. It has to be in that individual persons best interests.

Penfield · 02/10/2021 15:39

I didn’t even know we had vaccine passports until this morning.

@JellyBabiesSaveLives

I’d like to be able to get a Covid pass for my double-vaccinated 13-year-old. That would be useful.
for travel purposes a pass can only be issued to 16 and over for domestic purposes a pass can only be issued to 18 and over.
ilovesooty · 02/10/2021 15:48

I simply don't see why our country needs to be different from others that have covid passports.

Why that's a justification for a personal attack I'm not sure.

wanderwalks · 02/10/2021 15:49

I agree with you @FlyLight but I think it's a little like the brexit threads on here pre-brexit with 'Leavers' generally remaining quiet on what became very hostile, vulgar arguments at times.

It's the hypocrisy that gets me. For such a staunch pro-choice forum, it appears you're a moron if you want a choice about this! And don't bother with your whiney 'but you do have a choice, just don't expect to be a part of society anymore' bollocks. Can't say I care what the shoutiest on MN think though. I remain firmly in the camp that vaccine certs will only, ONLY, be detrimental to society. If the vaccine was much more effective then maybe they would be beneficial but they just aren't.

By the way. I've had my sodding jabs. It was my choice to do so.

Penfield · 02/10/2021 15:50

Why does anybody need to different? Anybody any country. Same difference. No need to be different.

OP posts:
itsgrand · 02/10/2021 15:50

Applications for the vaccine/testing exemption opened yesterday.

To apply you need to phone 119 and give your details (you do not need to give medical or confidential info), just that you believe yourself to be exempt from vaccines and or testing, give your name, address, dob, nhs number etc. Then the form will be sent to you and you get your GP to sign it, then you send it back and you get your covid pass.

Your covid pass will not state whether you have been vaccinated or not and will not highlight your exemption. It will merely be a covid pass just like anyone else so it's confidential and no way of knowing by looking at the pass whether you are exempt or vaccinated.

Penfield · 02/10/2021 15:52

Are you the automated Boris bottom?

Yes Wander thankfully it's only on here there seems to be so much hostility. Sometimes it feels like banging your head against a brick wall with the total lack of logic. Allowing only vaccinated people into a venue when that vaccine does not stop people catching or spreading the disease is.totally. pointless.! And why are 'the unvaccinated' suddenly treated as if they permanently have covid? Nobody was vaccinated last year and we didn't have this nonsense about whether to let them in your house or not!
I work in a school and have spoken to 6 parents this week, all double jabbed, all with covid, all passed on to rest of family. Yet according to this proposal they'd all have been perfectly fine to go to a nightclub or wherever before they knew they had it. Why why why is nobody seeing how illogical this is?!

I do agree with you about it all being illogical. Double Vaxed people could be sitting beside someone at a concert and assume they are also vaccinated because they have the covid pass. But not only are they vaccinated, they are not tested. Not only are the not vaccinated or tested they are also exempt from having to isolate in close contact with a positive case. Totally illogical the whole lot of it.
MajorCarolDanvers · 02/10/2021 16:13

The launch in Scotland has been a complete fuck up.

Geamhradh · 02/10/2021 16:15

Oh!
I thought this was a thread where the OP was confused about the "vaccine passport", the NHS Covid pass etc . (Which to be fair, they are, as they haven't understood the announcement at all)
I now realise it's an anti-vax agenda thread and the dog whistle has worked.

itsgrand · 02/10/2021 16:15

If you are referring to my original post it was about exemptions from being vaccinated and obtaining the covid pass that way rather than via being vaccinated or tested.

The Covid Pass has been operational in England from about May this year. People have been using it to travel abroad. People have been using the domestic Covid Pass to attend events such as football, festivals, concerts etc.

The latest development I have posted about is that now anyone who considers themselves unable to have the vaccine or be tested can now apply for a medical exemption and if this is successful they will have the same Covid Pass as those who are vaccinated.
