www.gov.uk/government/consultations/proposal-for-mandatory-covid-certification-in-a-plan-b-scenario-call-for-evidence

What are peoples thoughts on this proposal?
Personally, I don't think this is good.

Yes but the difference in Germany is you can show a negative test!

EileenGC · 28/09/2021 12:10

Have you read the link?

It clearly says regular testing would be the alternative offered to unvaccinated individuals.

Hairwizard · 28/09/2021 12:15

Fuck no!no no no no no no nope.

Anyone thinking it will be temporary is fking deluded quite frankly.

Anyone agreeing to this nonsense needs to give their head a wobble.

Here in n.i theyve rejected the vaccine passport idea and rightly so. Hope it stays that way. No place for them anywhere.

AlixandraTheGreat · 28/09/2021 12:18

@pontypridd

Looking at certain successful country like Denmark

I wouldn’t put the UK in the same category as Denmark.

I think we align ourselves closer to the US and Australia. Look what’s happening there. It’s a slippery slope.

What do you mean by this? What is so bad about Australia in particular?

RolloTomassi · 28/09/2021 12:29

@EileenGC It seems to say testing is the alternative for the workforce, not customers?

FlyLight · 28/09/2021 12:49

@EileenGC not for events, nightclubs etc, it's vaccine only!

Geamhradh · 28/09/2021 13:15

@pontypridd

Well it made me panic.

I didn’t read the link. Terrible excuse- but I have such disdain for this government I can’t bear to read any of their vile literature. Maybe it’s just laziness- but honestly my skin crawls looking at anything they’ve put out now.

This isn’t so bad perhaps @ollyollyoxenfree

You bet it’s just the start though. Let’s see where it leads us to.

Of course you didn't. You don't tend to read any sensible link provided to you. Your little knee just jerks a metre high and you start spouting your anti Vax nonsense. It's ok. We've got used to you.
pianolessons1 · 28/09/2021 13:18

Excellent idea to say that if you want to go to a nightclub etc you should be vaccinated. Only an idiot would look at the title, not read the document and go off frothing at the mouth......

Geamhradh · 28/09/2021 13:19
@EileenGC not for events, nightclubs etc, it's vaccine only!
UK or Germany? I'm getting confused?

MakingM · 28/09/2021 13:34

"mandatory" this, "compulsory" that...I would be very surprised if business supports the idea of mandatory certification & they know how to defend their corner, so I wouldn't get too het up about it.

Personally, I try and avoid all covid related news now and simply get on with life as most people seem to be doing. Eventually, the government will realise we've just stopped listening.

FlyLight · 28/09/2021 13:49

For the UK it says nightclubs, events etc will be vaccine only, no test option

Geamhradh · 28/09/2021 13:52

Okok. Thanks.
userperuser · 28/09/2021 13:54

All you will get is a bunch of vaccinated people infecting each other.

Good plan.

Megistotherium · 28/09/2021 14:17

@userperuser

Good plan.

That's not how it works. If there are only vaccinated people, chances of spread is reduced compared to mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
userperuser · 28/09/2021 14:23

Megistotherium

It’s exactly how it is. Reduces it, doesn’t stop it therefore it will spread.

pontypridd · 28/09/2021 15:09

What do you mean by this? What is so bad about Australia in particular?

Ooh you clearly have your head in the sand. Are people really this sheltered from what is going on in the world. So naive?

No wonder Boris and his band of ducks 🦆 have such a freedom pass to destruction.

MercyBooth · 28/09/2021 16:27

Im half vaccinated. Waiting to go on hormonal contraception which has to be started on the first day of my period. What period? Im not pregnant because i havent had sex. But periods have been screwed since the vaccine. Are they going to be offering abortion on demand? Because i think risking unwanted pregnancy to save the NHS is a bit much to ask. Perhaps child free by choice me should have got the sterilisation i spent over two decades of my life asking for. Because then i wouldnt be worrying about any of this and wouldnt be so reluctant to take the second vaccine.

amicissimma · 28/09/2021 16:38

It's not mandatory vaccines. It's not propaganda.

It's a consultation on the possible use of vaccine passports, or tests for the unvaccinated, in certain settings.

pontypridd · 28/09/2021 16:44

Things that will become mandatory always start this way with this government.

It’s always a story of ‘this won’t happen or be enforced’ until it suddenly is.

Plan B is Plan A.

In fact there is no Plan A.

If you can’t see this by now ...

Well, just you wait and see.

userperuser · 28/09/2021 16:50

amicissimma

Follow this history of these ‘consultations’, they have been never ending and the government have had the same result on each one which is ‘no, they are are terrible idea’ but yet they carry on. This time the testing alternative doesn’t appear to be on the discussion agenda other than for unvaccinated staff members of venues.

I thought in your last thread you said it was due to the menopause though?

I hope it all gets sorted out quickly and you're able to make a decision on whether you want to have the 2nd vaccine or not.

Lostinacloud · 28/09/2021 16:59

Surely all one needs to do is look at the list of exemptions and ask yourselves exactly why they are so keen to introduce this ridiculous idea when none of them have to abide by it.
Exemptions: People who have proven contraindication to the vaccine like a proven allergy or incompatible health condition and those who took part in a trial.

THEN…

police officers, local authority officers and emergency services responders acting in their official duties
a diplomat or someone working for an international organisation.

Aside from that, vaccinated people can still spread the virus whether at a reduced rate or not and coercion to take a vaccine is unethical and illegal.

We all need to fill the survey in and tell them that we don’t agree to any of it. Then if they try to bring it in (which of course they will) we MUST NOT comply!!! It is of the utmost importance that people start to push back against all this now. We have jumped through all their hoops and the vast majority of people have taken the vaccination whether they needed to or not based on their individual health status and that should be the end of it. There are even reports that covid is becoming more like a common cold - well we don’t need any restrictions whatsoever for a common cold virus!

Lostinacloud · 28/09/2021 17:02

This is how it started in France by the way and no people have been sacked from their jobs without pay or state support because they don’t want to have the vaccine.
Yes they can be tested every 72 hours but besides this being an uncomfortable and often pointless exercise every few days just so you can participate in normal life, it is soon going to cost you 25 euros per test and they do not have free or recognised home tests in France.

Lostinacloud · 28/09/2021 17:03

Should have said ‘now’ people have been sacked not no people! In fact there are an estimated 30,000 healthcare workers suspended from their jobs at present .

MercyBooth · 28/09/2021 17:09

@riveted1 I cant be sure either way thats the trouble.
