What are peoples thoughts on this proposal?
Personally, I don't think this is good.

Yes, @userperuser it is the thin end of the wedge...

@Worldgonecrazy

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Police brutality is wrong in any and all circumstances in a civilised society.

If a man decided to shit on the Cenotaph whilst demanding his rights to abuse pigs in live TV, police brutality would not be the answer.

You may not agree with the protesters, you may have been angry about what happened to your daughter, but by supporting police brutality you are showing who you really are.

I didn’t realise wearing a wig whilst protesting against removal of rights was an offence worthy of police brutality? (and it looks more like a bad dye job than a wig)

Agree 100%

Yes, *@userperuser* it is the thin end of the wedge...
Once the door to discrimination is opened the possibilities are endless.

-covid is, still, a mild illness for the majority of people
-those most at risk from covid are presumably fully vaccinated

  • if the vaccines work in preventing personal serious illness then there should be no issue with hospitals being overwhelmed
  • vaccinated people are however still catching and spreading covid

Given all of this, the fact that there are still people out there who think it's perfectly reasonable to ban people from social events, especially given the utter lack of logic of a vaccine only pass, is terrifying quite frankly. Do people really think any of this will 'keep people safe'? When these venues have all been open for months and low and behold nothing disastrous has happened? It truly is the thin end of the wedge and if this gets pushed through you better believe it won't be temporary!

I am baffled. As another poster said: this eagerness to give away body autonomy and human rights or freedom must be down to an extreme fear of death that we’ve been subjected to.

Maybe I’m not falling for this because I’m not scared of dying. I’m really not. We all die. We have to. There is always an end and none of know when that is going to be.

But whilst I’m alive I want to be free. And I want that for my children too.

SD1978 · 02/10/2021 09:28

@Penfield - if I needed 6 monthly boosters- yes I would. I already have to have flu vaccine yearly. Add in another one genuinely doesn't bother me. I'm happy with what I know of the makeup of this vaccine to take regular boosters, juts like the flu vaccine, if that gives me the best coverage.

This proposal makes no sense. I'm really concerned about what we're inching towards. I don't recognise this country any more.

FlyLight · 02/10/2021 19:57

Scary isn't it, and the amount of people that are ok with it cos it's 'keeping people safe' (except it isn't)
