@placemats

So you're poor and on minimum wage and want to keep your job. By constantly infecting each other. Just because you've had covid once doesn't mean you can get it again.

Please do tell me who you work for because I bet the high levellers all isolate.

"high levelers" can generally work from home.
Neverrains · 28/08/2021 13:58

@placemats

Your CEO is going to be isolating, of that there is no doubt.

Be a sheeple if you want, but most companies are running on empty in this country when it comes to refilling shelves staff.

Yeah, coz DH’s CEO will be getting paid. Can you see the difference yet?
Neverrains · 28/08/2021 14:01

Maybe rather than blame the individual, start blaming the elitist culture where those who could afford a few weeks unpaid are allowed to isolate on full pay, and those who can’t afford to isolate aren’t.
Blame a culture where said CEO expects people to go into work unless they personally test positive, because that’s the government rules.
Blame the government rules that says you don’t have to isolate if you’re vaccinated.

placemats · 28/08/2021 14:02

DH's is not protected from sickness in his workplace?

What is this a plague where the CEO and high levellers isolate and let the rest get on with it because they fear for their jobs?

How do the CEO's and high levellers get their money?

Neverrains · 28/08/2021 14:03

Or maybe just concentrate on yourself, and stop hassling people who are double vaccinated just like you are, just because you don’t like their intentions. As though their intentions make any difference to the outcome. Your vax doesn’t work better than mine just because you think your thoughts are more ‘pure’ Grin

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/08/2021 14:04

do you not chat with your hairdresser?

"Not about their health or politics"

Oh I do, I love my hairdresser and we gossip about everythingGrin

placemats · 28/08/2021 14:05

CEO's are individuals too.

It seems on this thread that some are in the gutter looking at the stars.

And some are just delusional.
placemats · 28/08/2021 14:07

Stop being self deprecating - it's not a good look.

Neverrains · 28/08/2021 14:12

Self deprecating? I thought I was being selfish? I can’t keep up.

TheChip · 28/08/2021 14:18

This thread is bonkers HmmGrin

dreamkitchenhelp · 28/08/2021 14:20

I have had the same conversation with my hairdresser. She is s scared of the jab. I have contempted not going to her as i feel it is an added risk that doesn't need to be taken. I am double jabbed so have some protection. Masks are still worn, everything wiped down with door open. She has one or two at most customers at a time.
In the end i have gone but i would prefer it if she was vaccinated.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/08/2021 15:36

@placemats

I'm 30 and I'll be honest, I got vaccinated so I wouldn't have to isolate as a close contact and to make it easier for me to travel.

You're not in your 20s, you are in your fourth decade of life.

You got vaccinated to make it easier to travel, selfish.

You didn't have to isolate post 2 vaccinations, so selfish.

Who the fuck goes out to work having been in close contact with those who got Covid? You have to be extremely selfish to do this.

So what if it's selfish? Not everything we have to do in life has to be selfless. Whatever my reasons, I have got the vaccine.

And where on earth did I say I'd been out to work after being a close contact of someone with Covid?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/08/2021 15:39

Although I would go out to work after being a close contact, providing I tested negative. If you don't like it, pay my mortgage for me.

PhilCornwall1 · 28/08/2021 15:43

@placemats

Those who on this thread do it for themselves and not for others actually want Covid to continue and to not let others get on with their lives. Selfish to the extreme.
You're a bitter old bugger aren't you?

What is this crap? How do you even know what someone’s true motives are? Who does stuff for just one reason anyway?

I don’t want to be hospitalised with covid so I got vaccinated. Is that selfish because I’m thinking about me or unselfish because I’m protecting the NHS?

I also got vaccinated to avoid isolation as a contact. Is that selfish because I don’t have to stay home or unselfish because I can go to work and teach children with special educational needs and disabilities?

It wasn’t clear vaccines reduced transmission when I was jabbed but selfishly I’m just as glad my Mil won’t be able to accuse me of trying to give her covid any more.

Whatever my reasons, I am vaccinated and no one else should be judging why I did it.

lannistunut · 28/08/2021 16:13

I wouldn't ask, it is not my business to ask.

I would however want my hairdresser to follow basic mitigation measures - masks and good ventilation. This matters more than a vaccine in terms of transmission.

Stuffin · 28/08/2021 16:21

I don't give a second thought as to whether anyone I come into close contact is vaccinated or not. Frankly I only had mine to make travel easier.

For anyone who wouldn't then what are you planning to do. Phone up other hairdressers and ask for their medical records?

daisybrown37 · 28/08/2021 17:14

I had my haircut today - no idea if she has had the vaccination and she has no idea if I had had mine (I have). We both wore masks and we were not face to face.

Doesn’t bother me.

littlepeas · 28/08/2021 18:31

It’s nobody’s business but hers whether she is vaccinated or not. I fully support each individual’s right to choose and disagree completely with the concept of vaccine passports ( especially domestically).

I have chosen to be vaccinated - I am as protected as I’m ever going to be and I would interact with people who I know to be unvaccinated without any concern. I would never dream of asking someone whether or not they were vaccinated.

SpamIAm · 28/08/2021 18:49

Wouldn't even cross my mind to consider whether or not my hairdresser is vaccinated.

FflosFfantastig · 28/08/2021 18:49

It's not appropriate at all.

kowari · 28/08/2021 19:29

I wouldn't know as I wouldn't dream of asking someone if they'd had or were going to have the covid injection. It is quite simply none of my business and not appropriate at all to bring up. If they told me themselves that they were not jabbed then it would not stop me going back, I only care about getting a good haircut.

MeanderingGently · 28/08/2021 19:42

I would have no idea whether a hairdresser is vaccinated or not, not really my business.

But I might not want to have my hair done by someone unvaccinated; fortunately it won't be a problem because I don't go to hairdressers. I do my own hair for a variety of reasons and the vaccination/COVID issue is just an extra reason not to....

lockdownmadnessdotcom · 28/08/2021 20:30

That means I am selfish too. I am vaccinated but I got vaccinated for my benefit, nobody else's. I also expect other people to get vaccinated for their own benefit (other than healthcare workers). However even though my intentions were not altruistic, they have the positive benefit of helping to protect those around me too. That's really nice, isn't it? I can be selfish and still help others! Win win! Go me!
