i know she was worried about the jab side effects
but i havent been there for a few weeks and not sure how appropriate it is to ask her

If she felt like telling me fine, it’s her choice but I don’t get my hair done often
It’s not really any od my business. If you don’t like it go elsewhere. What if she can’t get jabbed due it medical reasons? I couldn’t for 3 months due to meds I was on. I’ve had one now and then caught covid now waiting to get second one, bad luck in timing

MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/08/2021 10:24

most people who dont get vaccinated i should imagine are scared of the possible side effects, as was my hairdresser and some others i know, although i also know some who dont like being told what to do, but have relented

No reason at all why I wouldn’t use them.
It absolutely none of my business what their vaccination status is and makes them no more of a risk then somebody who hasn’t had any injections as we can all contract and transmit the virus.

Knittingupastorm · 28/08/2021 10:25

Yes I would. And I already may have, since I have absolutely no idea whether the woman who cut my hair two weeks ago was vaccinated or not.

Madhairday · 28/08/2021 10:26

I wouldn't, no, but that's because I'm CEV and my consultant has told me to keep being very careful. My lovely mobile hairdresser has a lot of vulnerable and elderly clients and got vaccinated as soon as she could and always wears masks. She volunteered this information to me, I didn't ask - she wanted me to feel safe (she is fabulous).

People keep falling back on the whole 'vaccinated people can still spread covid' - yes, they can, but they are much less likely to get it in the first place, and much less likely to have a higher viral load, which means unvaxxed people are less safe for vulnerable people. If I wasn't CEV I'd probably feel fine to go to an unvaxxed hairdresser, though.

sprinkleyumnut · 28/08/2021 10:26

No.

SpnBaby1967 · 28/08/2021 10:26

I would still go because I dont judge peoples ability to do their job based on their medical history.

Plus, I'm not running in terror at catching covid. I had it at xmas, I've had worse colds!! I'm now double vaccinated so surely if I'm to believe the hype I'm protected from a serious infection anyway.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:27

@MrsLargeEmbodied

yes in the office those who chose not to get vaccinated are looking ashamed and awkward as it has been a Way out of this
Sorry how do you know that? Have they told you they feel ashamed or awkward or are you making a judgement on how you think they should feel?

Honestly this thread says much more about you and how you view others than it does other people.

People say others are selfish not getting the job but then you get threads like this where it's obvious people only care about others in terms of have they had a medical procedure to protect ME. what is more selfish than that?

I had the vaccine to protect me (arguably from a v small risk) but I don't expect everyone else to protect me because that is incredibly self centred.

autumnboys · 28/08/2021 10:28

My hairdresser has been open about being vaccinated/still asking us to mask when we come.

A beautician I sometimes go to saw me in a tiny unventilated room, didn’t wear a mask and spent the whole appointment banging on about not getting vaccinated/sheeple/how masks made her cry because it blocked her energetic flow, or something. She did a great job and I am double vaccinated & was wearing a mask, but I won’t be going back any time soon. It’s her choice not to be vaccinated, it’s my choice not to use her services.

Well, you think you can. You're probably assuming they feel how you think they should though. Much more likely.

I haven't made any personal attacks ?

is what i said,
if you cant read shame in someone's face that might explain your attitude @Getyourarseofffthequattro

Why are you being so ratty? I'm guessing this thread is absolutely nothing to do with your unvaccinated hairdresser?

I wouldn't like to assume what someone is feeling by the look on their face, no, not when it comes to something like this. Visibly upset? Yes but would I assume WHY they're upset? No. Because there is no way of knowing unless they tell you.

In reality you may think you know what they feel and why they feel it, but you can't possibly unless they tell you which I imagine they probably would not.

It was only in the last couple of weeks that studies have found that those who have had the injections have the same viral load as somebody who hasn’t had them. Plus the I’ve noticed that the people who have had a positive result recently have in the majority been those who have had 2 injections. I suppose that’s why they are hoping to roll out boosters.
Neverrains · 28/08/2021 10:33

Yes @Getyourarseofffthequattro I find it a strange argument too… the ‘you’re so selfish not to have a vaccine to protect me’ one. Surely that’s the epitome of selfish?
I am double vaccinated… I took the vaccines to protect my own health. I don’t expect anyone to do anything to protect my health. That would be selfish, in my view.

Neverrains · 28/08/2021 10:34

Any any hairdresser/beautician etc who is unvaccinated is going to be at far more risk from you than you are from them, by virtue of them not having had the vaccine to protect themselves.

placemats · 28/08/2021 10:37

This is a specious argument and you know that, because you are selfish at your very core and dishonest.

What? How am I selfish at my very core and dishonest? Please explain.....
MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/08/2021 10:40

@girlmom21

why the thread?
is that to me?
because i need a hair cut, should i go back or should i look elsewhere

You know exactly why that is which is why you responded to me.

I knew you would.

@placemats

No, I really don't?

I know why I got the vaccine, I'm not sure how you think you do when you don't know me?

Equally you've decided I'm dishonest and selfish but won't tell me why you think that or how you indeed know that?

Bizarre.
