Either go to her or don’t I really doubt she cares. I take it you won’t go to a dentist or a doctor if their unvaccinated. I’m CEV and double vaccinated and couldn’t give a shit who is or not . I’m not living in a world of fear anymore. Live your life and stop panicking.

I cannot understand the reasoning behind a hairdresser that has been economically devastated by lockdown restrictions not wanting to ensure now the restrictions have been lifted that all safety measures are in place. Sure we're all sick of restrictions and want to get on with our lives, but I wouldn't go to a hairdresser that openly is anti vaccination because they would carry on infecting people and thereby endangering their clients own lives and livelihood.

You don’t have to understand it.

I don’t understand why some people enjoy sitting on a muddy river bank trying to catch fish, or walking miles in circles to loop back round to where they started, but they do.

It is not your business.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:46

@placemats

Your reasoning is bizarre.

Not mine.

Selfish to your core.

Do you want to explain or just keep making personal attacks?

Please can you explain how exactly I am selfish for having a vaccination to protect me, and not expecting other people to protect me as well?

I really don't understand.

PhilCornwall1 · 28/08/2021 10:47

I had the vaccine to protect me (arguably from a v small risk) but I don't expect everyone else to protect me because that is incredibly self centred.

That's fair.

I only had it because of the chance of needing bloody vaccine passports.

Neverrains · 28/08/2021 10:47

@placemats

Selfish. Most overused word of the pandemic. We’re all selfish. I got the vaccine to protect myself. That’s selfish. However I don’t expect other people to get the vaccine to protect me. To me, that would be selfish.
placemats · 28/08/2021 10:47

So would you be happy to get fish and chips from a man who admits he had Covid but still served people anyway?

girlmom21 · 28/08/2021 10:48

@MrsLargeEmbodied

You're being really rude to some of the posters here.

The ones who have actually answered your question are either being ignored or you're going back with blunt, off-topic answers. This is a very strange thread.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:48

@placemats

That's not at all the same .......
placemats · 28/08/2021 10:49

You got the vaccine to protect yourself and not others?

You can do both.

Protect yourself and protect others.

Win win.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:49

Yes this was a consideration in my decision too!
Neverrains · 28/08/2021 10:51

No, just like I wouldn’t be happy to be served fish and chips by a man who had chicken pox even though i have already had it because it would make me think he probably had poor hygiene practices in general. I believe (and always have) that ill people should stay at home until they’re better.
placemats · 28/08/2021 10:51

So you would be happy with someone with Covid to cut your hair, serve you food and give you a massage?

You do realise you can still get covid despite being vaccinated?

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:51

@placemats

You can do both.

Protect yourself and protect others.

Win win.

Well I have, haven't I.... But I didn't do it FOR other people, I did it for me since it was a procedure performed on ME.

As a byproduct other people are protected.

I imagine a lot of people feel similarly but it doesn't make them selfish to their core or dishonest. If anything I could lie and say I did it for the greater good and that would be dishonest but I haven't, I've told you the reason why I did it, you don't like it and that's fine, but there's no need to be horrible about it is there?

Neverrains · 28/08/2021 10:52

@placemats

Protect yourself and protect others.

Yes, an incidental side effect of getting the vaccine was that it also helps to protect others. I don’t expect others to do it to protect me though.
Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/08/2021 10:52

@placemats

Again, that's not the same.

Do you not understand that covid positive and unvaccinated are two different things?

Do you also not realise that you can be covid positive AND double vaccinated?

bumbleymummy · 28/08/2021 10:52

Wouldn’t even occur to me to ask their vaccine status. I really don’t think that is something that should become normalised tbh.

HalzTangz · 28/08/2021 10:53

I have mingled with the unvaccinated and the vaccinated. I respect each person's decision on whether (or not) to be vaccinated.
I chose to be vaccinated.
I will not stop seeing friends, family or use businesses just because someone isn't vaccinated

HalzTangz · 28/08/2021 10:54

@MrsLargeEmbodied

someone said to me i shouldnt
Do you always do what others say?
MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/08/2021 10:56

@HalzTangz
that is why i am asking here but of course as usual it has been a waste of time.
although i have realised there is a lack of ventilation where i usually go so all is not lost
what an odd place @girlmom21

@SpicyJalfrezi

The purpose behind getting vaccinated is surely so you don’t get covid, or, as now seems to be the narrative, are ‘less likely to be hospitalised.’ So I must admit I don’t really understand why someone vaccinated is anxious about being with someone who isn’t, unless it doesn’t work, in which case it’s just as pointless them being vaccinated as you.
The narrative from day one was always that the vaccine with reduce hospitalisation. It was always declared you could still get and transmit covid when vaccinated
SpicyJalfrezi · 28/08/2021 11:02

So in that case, not wishing to be thick but it doesn’t seem to make a blind bit of difference, does it.

HalzTangz · 28/08/2021 11:03

@MrsLargeEmbodied

do you not chat with your hairdresser?
I chat with my hairdresser, I don't ask them there personal medical business though
