Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

You have my sympathy. I'm just coming out the other side after 9 days in bed.
The total exhaustion is awful.
Drink and sleep as much as you can.

BishBashBoshBush · 08/08/2021 18:03

Trying my utmost to stay hydrated but I just want to lie down and not move at all!
9 days?!?! Omg that's awful. I've just started a new job and will only get ssp so was hoping to wfh tomorrow somehow!

I'm in the same boat. Started feeling very fatigued on Wednesday, positive pcr Friday. I've got mostly nasty cold symptoms and a sore chest but feeling a bit better today compared to yesterday.
Hopefully it'll be a short illness for you.

TheDinosaurTrain · 08/08/2021 18:28

It’s grim, you have my total sympathy. We’re a week in, and bloody hell if this is the mild version that you get when double jabbed - total credit to everyone who had it unvaccinated

BishBashBoshBush · 08/08/2021 18:30

That's what I keep thinking @TheDinosaurTrain and @Torvi I hope so too. I had a look at that Zoe study and I think I have cluster one or two symptoms but really hoping the fatigue is a red herring of being a busy mum working full time!!!

wheresmyhairytoe · 08/08/2021 19:47

I've never known anything like it. I didn't wash for 3 days as just couldn't summon the energy to do it.
I'm usually fit and active but my God, it was horrendous and I realise I was one of the lucky ones.

BuddleiasBeesAndButterflies · 08/08/2021 22:03

Same here, day 5 and feeling worse, temp, cough, fatigue, headache, blocked sinuses and nausea. Dh, Dd and Ds all with same symptoms. Dd is thankfully starting to feel a little better, she was the first to get a positive LFT, so hopefully we'll all follow suit.

Wishing you all speedy recoveries!

BishBashBoshBush · 08/08/2021 23:44

Thank you for the well wishes, right back to you. I started feeling unwell yesterday late afternoon. I've been wiped today. Perked up slightly this PM then this evening wham- so so achy. EVERYTHING hurts. No cough yet but yes blocked sinuses and fatigue.

I've taken more paracetamol but I think I read somewhere not to take ibuprofen for cv19 as it makes symptoms worse? Anything else I can try?

I had 4 days of the most horrendous headache then another 5 days of the most awful tiredness. Couldn't stay awake! The only thing that worked for the headache was cocodomol

Other than that it was a bit of a cough and loss of taste/smell that came on about day 5 but lasted less than a week .

Mindymomo · 09/08/2021 06:47

It’s ok to take ibuprofen now, as well as paracetamol. Hope you feel better soon.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 07:00

Hi, me too. Solidarity. I was taken into hospital yesterday because I kept being sick so needed fluids.

I am on day 6 and so far feel better today. It is shit! It is the shaking every time I lie down I can't stand. Excuse pun.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 07:01

Have to be honest, ibuprofenis the only thing that knocked the pounding headache.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 07:02

Where do you see those cluster symptoms on Zoe?

DGFB · 09/08/2021 07:03

Just wanted to say how sorry I am you’re all ill. Sounds horrendous. Can only imagine how awful without vaccines. Hope you do all recover soon

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 10:02

Have you had your PCR back OP?

Scottishskifun · 09/08/2021 10:08

@BishBashBoshBush

This was the very early days of the pandemic it's actually fine to take.

Don't push it honestly as you can risk long covid if your not giving your body chance. A few days stat sick pay is frustrating but not compared with months off due to long covid.

I'm 4 months and still not back ft! It's a bit pot luck but women more likely to get it (I'm 35 BTW was fit and healthy!)

BuddleiasBeesAndButterflies · 09/08/2021 11:06

I haven't done a second PCR, I did one on my first day of symptoms which came back negative, my Dds was positive, I've since had two positive LFTs.
I tried to book a postal but it keeps saying none available and I really don't feel up to driving anywhere for one.
I'm already 6 days in, isolating anyway because of Dd (and because I obviously do have it) so doubt I'll bother now. However I am aware how that skews all the data being collected!

BishBashBoshBush · 09/08/2021 11:16

Had a whole post written out but it disappeared. My PCR came back positive this morning. Feeling quite rough. Thanks for the heads up re:ibuprofen will get on that now. Just working through my inbox.

BishBashBoshBush · 09/08/2021 11:17

My DH was negative and seems to think if he does a PCR the day before and it's negative he can go to a large group event at the weekend.
I told t&t to contact him directly as he won't listen to me and thinks that's fine.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 12:07

Oh OP, sorry to hear that.

Keep hydrated. And, yes, your DP is very wrong. My family developed symptoms 10 days apart.

Bobholll · 09/08/2021 14:39

@BishBashBoshBush - from next Monday, your OH would be able to do just that. From the 16th, close contacts including household members do not have to isolate even if a household member or close contact is positive (so long as they are double jabbed). Testing will be encouraged but not mandatory. So to be honest, what difference does two days make? Saturday being the 14th, the rule change being the 16th! If he can test & get the results back then why not? He’ll know he’s negative so all good!

Bobholll · 09/08/2021 14:39

Hope you are on the mend quickly!

Bobholll · 09/08/2021 14:41

He’s not that wrong @Piggywaspushed - from the 16th, he’s free to go. Close contact isolation including household members ends. He’d only be breaking the rules by two days. And he’s offering to test, which isn’t going to be a requirement, only encouraged.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 14:49

I think I read that anyone isolating before 16th has to stick to their dates.
