@herecomesthsun

Even at the worse scenario 300k -700 deaths a day it’d be 1/2 the deaths we had daily in January so would that be alright then?
Even one death is more than what it’s right I was only saying it for comparison for when the things were wrong back in winter

'Also, they are just extrapolating current doubling times. No way they will continue. Once the Euro super spreading is out of the wash, things will calm down.'

Ok that makes sense. I was wondering why it was so far off the imperial and other sage predictions which are still not great but much less depressing than that one.

Indigopearl · 16/07/2021 20:10

I wonder why though the UK projections on there look so much worse than those for other countries e.g. The Netherlands had huge growth in infections recently but their projections seem pretty muted in comparison.

AlecTrevelyan006 Are the labels right on that graph, it seems to have at least 1 dose vaccinated people increasing still, and unvaccinated on the decline? Part of that could of course is people moving into the vaccinated category but that doesn't seem to follow your commentary?

Most will have seen this graph design before; latest 7 day rate per 100,000 based on a two day reporting lag on the x-axis; starting at 100 per 100,000 as no council area in England is now below that. y axis shows the absolute increase in the rate per 100,000 as compared with the prior seven day period; anything below the x-axis has shown a decrease in cases; not too many but certainly some. Not shown on the graph but for context on a two day lag and where council geography confirmed the latest overall rate is just past 400 per 100,000; up close to 90 per 100,0000 as compared with the prior week. Median rate 355 up by just over 100.

A gentle starter with England's regions; London split between Inner and Outer London Boroughs.
