No period after Astrazeneca vaccine.

I had my vaccine two weeks ago...no period and its been two weeks!Anyone else had a delayed period?

Anyone who has had both AZ jabs and whose periods completely stopped, could you tell me when they started again please?
My period soon after my first AZ in April was very short. Since then I have had no period (I should have had two) and feel pretty uncomfortable - sore boobs, back ache etc. I’ve had both doses of the jab just over 8 weeks apart. Pretty fed up to be honest. I am 46 so it may not be down to the jab, but this isn’t usual for me. I don’t in any way regret having the jab but keen to know when I might feel more normal again! Thanks.

I'm the same. I had second AZ in mid of April and period a few days later but it stopped just after 1 day and had spotting since.

Wonder if it makes a difference when in your cycle you have vaccine, mine was mid and came on 2wks later but didn’t have usual few days arse ache or emotional teary moment - Which alternate each month.

I off age where everything gets chalked up to bcos probably premenopausal

I'm 8 days late and counting, have mirena and am old so pregnancy is very very unlikely! Had AZ 2 weeks ago

I believe it does matter.
When I had my first Az I was on my period so no issues at all.
However with my second AZ I was a week before it was due and it’s all messed up.
After my second Az I got my period few days later but it was extremely painful! I had to intervals two different painkillers as it was just like a having contractions.
However it stopped abruptly in a day and kept spotting for 16 days. And after 5 days it restarted spottingfor another 5 days, only to be gone for 5 weeks. Today some mold bleed started, but nothing like my usual very regular period which Is strong for first 3 days and then goes weaker until it stops in day 6.
I got no idea what’s going on. I got period cramps through the whole month now… it’s madness.

@Oldwreck hi,I had very similar to you. Did you also had period cramps?
I ha my second AZ in mid April too and following period was very short but painful, had spotting and after that no period for 5 weeks.
No sore boobs at all, which was very unusual as always get them before periods due.
Only today I got some light bleed and strong cramps.
The bleed is only when I wipe after toilet, it won’t come out as normally. Very worried really..it’s like the period blood is stuck inside me and won’t move out…

The womb lining has lots of ACE2 receptors (more in older women), which is where the spike proteins latch on, so the theory is you can get effects from both covid and the vaccines.

Weird that some miss periods, while some post menopausal women get bleeds though. I don't understand that. Maybe it's a mix of the immune response delaying ovulation and the ACE2 effect?

That’s interesting, I wonder if I just went wrong time of month (mid cycle) and that’s why had such awful other symptoms.

Is it just AZ though or are the other vaccines also affecting cycles? I've had both AZ and my cycles are still like clockwork 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had AZ, 1st one about 5 weeks ago on day 1 of period. Currently 10 days overdue for next period. No hormonal contraceptives for me and definitely not pregnant so can only put it down to the vaccine as I'm normally like clockwork. Very strange and I have reported it.

Oh, for the last week I've been getting stomach cramps but nothing seems to come from them?

Hi, has everyone’s issues resolved? I had my first AZ dose on 19 June and my period is now 11 days late.

Ok so I was due on the 20th May, I had my second AZ dose on May 18th and I’ve still not had a period!!!!! 🙃🙃🙃

I'm a week late after second jab of AZ. First jab sent my periods onto slightly shorter cycles with ridiculously heavy heavy flow.

Finally got my period yesterday after 50 days of no period, I was due on 2 days after my second AZ back in May…

Hi all.My period is messed up after having the AZ vaccine!I went from having no period until 3 months later to having two periods in one month!

I've had pfizer and after my second jab keep starting my period, then it stops then starts again a couple of days later. Sick of it now

My periods used to be quite regular at 25 days but I haven't had one since May, before my first AZ jab so that's more than 3 months now. I had mini hot flushes for a few weeks, then nothing. I'm 44 so I suppose menopause is possible but it's quite a coincidence. I've also developed an allergy to wasp stings that I didnt have before and had to go to hospital this week. Again, maybe a coincidence? I will report both though as it's worrying.

This happened to me too, had covid followed by the vaccines when I was allowed and had no periods for about 5 months. Back to normal now though.

I am 32 and had first AZ in March had no side effects whatsoever and periods were normal. Had my second dose end of May and felt wiped out for 4 days. Missed a period and then it came end of June a month late . Lasted 4 weeks pretty much! Spoke to doctor who prescribed me tranexamic acid to stop the period which was very very clotty for the first 2-3 weeks. I took iron tablets too as was feeling tired etc.. anyway period stopped finally a few days ago and then last night restarted very heavy and clotty and stopped again today. Last night it was Like I almost hemmoraged it was running down my legs. I worry that I’m being over the top with my health anxiety by ringing the doctor again, I mentioned the vaccine on Monday as a potential reason and she didn’t disagree but didn’t say anything either on the matter! Hopefully it’s just a side effect that will sort itself out in a few months but still worrying.
I had a cervical exam Monday so hopefully nothing wrong there will get results soon.

Mine went funny for a bit but it's fine now. Though I'm a certain kind of age where I didn't think much of it...

I’m so glad I’ve found this thread. I’ve had my 2 jabs of AstraZeneca. The 1st back in March and I bled heavy and then spotted for a month. Periods then resumed back to every 21 days. I had my 2nd jab on June 4th and period was due on the 7th June and it never arrived so my last period ended on the 17th may. Im just 43. I went to the doctors and had blood tests and they came back to say that not only had I hit menopause, because my FSH levels and LH levels were so high that I had actually gone through the menopause! Im absolutely heart broken. I had a miscarriage and a d&c december 2019 and therefore because of that they checked my hormones through a blood test in June 2020 and they were absolutely fine. The doctor doesn’t understand it as she said that pre menopause should of shown up for me to have gone through the menopause a year later. I’ve gone private to try and get some answers but I’m scared that no one is going to know the answer 😢

That's very concerning @Nic1234567, and they wonder why uptake is so low amongst the youngsters.

Just to follow on from my previous comment I got my results and all fine with cervical swab etc. Had a week off and now I’m on again!!

@WitchBaby it’s really concerning. I’m worried sick. I’ve never wished for a period so much in my life in the hope that it’s all been a massive blip from the jab.

@Assm261923 glad your smear came back clear. I had one last week and just waiting on the results. Fingers crossed all ok
