Mine was due easter day but started spotting today. I'm never that early but had vaccine on twentieth. No other symptoms.

Orangesandlemons77 · 30/03/2021 18:01

Interesting. Had the vaccine Sat and period started the same day...a few days early.

bluebluezoo · 30/03/2021 18:03

I wonder what the science is behind the vaccine effect?

My hypothesis would be that as with any stressor the vaccine forces your body to mount an immune response so it puts it resources into fighting that, and puts other processes on hold. Getting pregnant when you’re fighting a bacteria/virus or whatever is not good biological sense as it may damage the pregnancy.

LizzieMacQueen · 30/03/2021 18:09

Not trying to scare monger but ...

Could it not also be linked to the increase in blood clots? So the vaccine is somehow affecting your ability to 'make' blood.

Nuttagblz · 30/03/2021 18:17

This is very interesting. I had a GA and it knocked my period out for two weeks, and I had to have DV stockings for 4 weeks and it was only a very small op. I had no medical risk of blood clots either.

Stationfork · 30/03/2021 18:18

Mine was strangely a whole week early. Never thought it could be something to do with this. Weird

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 30/03/2021 18:45

I heard a doctor saying that when you're poorly or your immune system is under stress, your body sometimes delays ovulation; reason being to prevent pregnancy if you're not healthy.

Freyaismyname · 30/03/2021 19:08

I've missed a period this month too! I had the jab 3 weeks ago. How weird

MalbecMakesMeHappy · 30/03/2021 20:27

Mine was 5 days late. Normally as regular as clockwork!

Dryadia · 30/03/2021 20:31

had covid this time last year, was still having periods every few months, nothing since.

JeannieTheZebra · 30/03/2021 20:40

That explains it. I had the vaccine 10 days ago and was due on on Friday. I’ve had nothing but spotting which is very odd for me; I was starting to get a bit worried. I’m 31.

Newnamefor2021 · 30/03/2021 22:49

Damn too hopeful, Aunt Flo just arrived.

Lurleene · 30/03/2021 22:55

Mine was a week late but I only had my jab a couple of days before I was due so should have already ovulated. My boobs were so so sensitive too like in early pregnancy. There was no chance I was pregnant though. Someone I work with had a period two years after her previous one. Hmm

Secrethidingplace · 30/03/2021 23:59

Mine was 1 week early and very heavy and painful compared to usual

Chaotica · 31/03/2021 13:08

@Cinderellashoes Thanks for the link. I will report it.

SixDegrees · 31/03/2021 13:13

Mine was on time. A normal period.

Although looking at the dates, I’d have ovulated before I got the vaccine. So if delayed periods are down to immune responses to the vaccine delaying ovulation, that wouldn’t have affected me.

WeeMadArthur · 31/03/2021 13:18

Ooh, I’m due and it’s not arrived yet, I’m having lovely 19 day cycles ( think perimenopausal) so a late period is a thing of beauty.

Motheroftwofeline · 31/03/2021 13:20

I had jab on Friday and felt awful over the weekend then period also started 3 days late and has been strangely light.

GlitzAndGlamour26 · 31/03/2021 13:20

@Cinderellashoes thankyou.I am reporting it.

No!
coogee · 01/04/2021 00:41

It doesn't look like it is restricted to the AZ vaccine...

theotherfossilsister · 04/04/2021 17:31

Update, spotting gone and now officially late/skipped period

Poppydex · 04/04/2021 17:43

I'm a month late I was due on about the same time I had my vaccine. Have had light spotting for a week which is weird as my periods are usually really heavy.

TheRealForReal · 04/04/2021 17:45

Is this why there are rumours the vaccine affects fertility?

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/04/2021 17:47

Mine was a week early. Off to report it.
