I had my vaccine two weeks ago...no period and its been two weeks!Anyone else had a delayed period?

It may not just be AZ. I had Pfizer in February, I haven't had a period since. I'm starting to get quite worried, definitely not pregnant (no partner or social life). I won't be getting my second dose if period doesn't return, nightmare trying to get a GP appointment too to discuss all of this.

IJustLikeBiscuitsOK · 19/04/2021 15:49

For what it's worth, I am still glad I had it after a year of shielding.

grenadines · 19/04/2021 15:50

I’m around the age of menopause. Had AZ mid March and periods have been normal since.

Somebunnylovesyou22 · 19/04/2021 16:40

Mine was around 10 days late after having AZ vaccine. Have been tracking my periods for years and always every 28days. Was so heavy had to stay home for a couple of days and huge clots as well. Can’t get to speak to gp yet so no idea what’s going on but no doubt will be fobbed off in some way or another. I don’t want the second one have had nothing but problems since the first dose 4 weeks ago and I know more people of my age who have been adversely affected by the vaccine than have had covid.

helpmemakeit · 19/04/2021 16:40

It restarted mine. I gave birth 10
Months ago.

Timeouttime · 19/04/2021 17:13

Mine was due 4 days after vaccine. It turned up about an hour after I had it and was beyond heavy. It lasted for 9 days and was v heavy throughout. I'm normally clockwork on timing and length this was completely out of the ordinary. I wish I could find information on how the vaccine affects hormones because surely that's what's happening here 🧐🤔

MenopausalMrs · 19/04/2021 18:55

I had my jab yesterday at 3pm... woke up to period today... and I only finished my previous one about 10 days ago. I'm also in menopause so having them very infrequently so having 2 so close is bonkers!

Wildswim · 19/04/2021 22:27

This is all quite worrying. Why wasn't it picked up at the trials? The long term effects of this vaccine are also completely unknown.

The same issues have been reported (on here and media articles) after actual covid. The long term effects of covid are also still unknown. Although we do know it can cause death, or heart, lung, and kidney damage, and possibly trigger diabetes.
Wildswim · 19/04/2021 22:39

No, irregular periods are not a common symptom of Covid. I've had Covid myself, quite bad, and have spoken to many others who had it and been on many threads with other sufferers. This wasn't raised as an issue.

worriedatthemoment · 19/04/2021 22:49

@Wildswim because only a smaller amount are in trials , prob plenty of people who have had without having delayed periods also read people have reported same with other jabs on another thread, also prob lots not associated it with it

Blueberry40 · 19/04/2021 22:54

I’m not sure about delayed periods but this research was published recently doi.org/10.1136/bmj.n958 which urges anyone who has unusually heavy periods or irregularities after the vaccine to contact their GP to get checked over

fizbosshoes · 19/04/2021 23:04

My period arrived yesterday...only 15 days after the last one startedBlush....I havent even had the jab yet but I'm hoping it delays mine!!

breadfortea · 20/04/2021 13:34

My daughter had hers in January and didn't have a period until the start of April.

mrsnw · 20/04/2021 20:07

So following on from my 55 day cycle after Astra Zeneca I'm now bleeding on day 15!!! This jab has really messed up my cycle

Porcupineintherough · 20/04/2021 21:07

@Wildswim sorry but lots and lots of women are reporting temporary menstrual changes as a result of having COVID. Take a look on the "lungs" threads on here from last year or join one of the long COVID groups on Facebook.

Wildswim · 20/04/2021 21:34

@Porcupineintherough you don't need to apologise. I wasn't aware but take your word for it. I'm still uneasy about the quite dramatic effect the vaccine seems to have on women's cycles and also, more worrying, why it wasn't noted or detected in the trials.

Carefulvulvadriver · 21/04/2021 10:48

Apols I haven’t read the whole thread, so this may already have been mentioned.

If you have experienced an unexpected change in your menstrual cycle after having the vaccine, please please consider reporting it to the MHRA under the “yellow card” scheme. Please don’t think it isn’t significant enough to report - people have reported very minor symptoms. We know there is an increased risk to women under ~55 of rare blood clotting side effects after some of the vaccines. Enough isn’t known about this, and it could just be that your information about changes to your cycle might help point the way to understanding this more.
Online reporting is here: coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

But how old is everyone on here. Cycles change and blips occur in peri menopause. This may be a mere coincidence as over 40’s so far in the main being vaccinated.

What has age got to do with stopping periods? Confused My menopause started at 37, was all finished by 40. Most women are later than that. I doubt all these cases are coincidences, getting the jab can stop/ delay your periods. I think they were quick to debunk the theory of sterilisation too.
Captpike · 22/04/2021 17:01

So you think the government is purposely sterilisation people devlesko? Of course you do.
