What now?!

OP posts:
SimonJT · 07/01/2021 17:31

Johnson gets worse and worse, enunciate!

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:33

Well yes red we actually need dry dull and clear. Just odd when placed next to bumbling Boris.

Go Simon!!!!! You tell the fuckers

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:34

@Wankerchief

Still adamant all places of education are safe!
I think what he means and doesn't actually safe is with regards risk to the children themselves they are safe.

Which is actually true for many.

But as a societal establishment and with regards communities they aren't.

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:35

@Monkeytennis97

Anyone just hear Boris' big sigh after that EYFS question?!
I thought I did!!!! Someone should have turned his mic off 🤣
blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 17:35

Well, there is a reason Corbyn lost the elections. We can all make great assumptions but he has never been and never will be PM so keep on dreaming Corbynists.

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:36

I'm fairly centric and slightly more left wing.

But even I couldn't say Corbyn would have been better. I couldn't even bring myself to vote for him! I would vote for Kier though.

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 17:37

Btw how is the anxiety going? 😂😂😂

Monkeytennis97 · 07/01/2021 17:37

@itsgettingweird he is utterly sick of education being such a big thing in this pandemic.

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 17:40

I am willing to give Keir a chance but early days. It all depends on who is with him because I hate the radical left and woke idiots.

stonecoldhippo · 07/01/2021 17:41

Why has no one asked Simon about all the red tape preventing retired medics volunteering

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:43
@itsgettingweird he is utterly sick of education being such a big thing in this pandemic.
Yep. The 2 things they've massively underfunded the past 10 years are now proving the things they've realised are important.

They're fed up with it being pointed out.

rosie1959 · 07/01/2021 17:43

@stonecoldhippo

Because they have got rid of it
itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:43

Simon is going to have a heart attack on air. He's really riled up (understandably!)

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 17:44

Omg I bolded his name. That shows how much I've spent too much time on MN lately 🤦‍♀️🤣

Butterymuffin · 07/01/2021 17:46

Really good news about the two new drugs that can have a life saving effect. With so many hospital admissions we need treatments as well as vaccines.

stonecoldhippo · 07/01/2021 17:46

Because they have got rid of it. Hurrah! Will believe it when I see it though.

Backbee · 07/01/2021 17:49

My ds's army camp currently has cases... Don't be too confident they can save the day!!

Pretty sure their barracks not being somehow magically protected from covid is an indication of if the logistics will be effective or not.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 07/01/2021 17:49

I hate it when they have a guest speaker and the journalists don't even have the courtesy to ask them a question. The brigadier's speech was great but couldn't one of them have asked him something 🙄.

GreenlandTheMovie · 07/01/2021 17:53

Christ, clearly putting someone in an army uniform is a winner on press briefings...he wasn't that good.

Imagine if he was wearing a red coat uniform!

bluebeck · 07/01/2021 17:53

Did I imagine it or did Johnson mutter something about Gav doing something about refunding uni fees to students?

Backbee · 07/01/2021 17:55

Christ, clearly putting someone in an army uniform is a winner on press briefings...he wasn't that good.

I don't think the bar for someone being an impressive speaker at these press briefings is particularly high when you have the likes of boris there to be honest!

Au contraire, he was excellent. Credible and authoritative.
somethingonthecarpet · 07/01/2021 17:57

Boris's image control people have clearly advised to bring on the Brigadier in order to re-draw the Churchill/winning of world wars kind of feelings (those that led to the Brexit vote when we were all enjoying the First World War centenary celebrations from 2014). They know that the British public are always unwilling to criticise the armed forces. Well played to Boris's PR team.

Boris himself, however, could easily have been replaced by Rowley Birkin QC from the Fast Show and none of us would have noticed.

GreenlandTheMovie · 07/01/2021 17:59

Clearly, the Labour Party should just replace Keir Starmer with an army guy, and they will be assured of winning the next election!

itsgettingweird · 07/01/2021 18:00

🤣🤣

He was still good though. Some people won't want the logistics info because it's not juicy but it's so very important and the British army are actually another claim we could legitimately make about being world class.
