Yup, me too.

Brigadier one side, NHS Chief on the other.

Full admission of incompetence, followed by his resignation.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 07/01/2021 13:15

My first thought was that he forgot to order it, so he was coming on to blame someone.

Then I remembered he did actually say he was giving a Thursday announcement.

Totally this, except my toddlers only wanted a drink/cuddle/settling not propping up while they wrecked the country.

And their sleepy murmurings were much more coherent.

Think it's about vaccine rollout.

UpMySt · 07/01/2021 13:17

The announcement would probably be about GP's and the army getting involved for a massive vaccine roll out to speed up the process.

loulouljh · 07/01/2021 13:19

looks like the army are getting involved in the roll out..which can only be a good thing I think.

Delta1 · 07/01/2021 13:21

He'd better be getting ready to explain what the fuck is causing delays already. What's happening to the supplies for Birmingham. Why can't smaller pharmacies who want to help be allowed to. Why PHE have the gall to say they won't deliver on Sundays. Why the army, which has been on standby for weeks, is not already mobilized to help with distribution. Etc.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 07/01/2021 13:23

ButerflyBitch where did you get your TARDIS emoji??? 😍

I know what you mean, DH and I have been joking about that. Grin

BlueBaubles12 · 07/01/2021 13:23

I hope it’s about getting the army more involved, get this roll out ramped up.

I don’t know why they don’t take to private sector companies on the logistics front. Say what you like about Amazon but they’re logistics masters.

Completely agree. Even from the start - Oxford vaccine was approved 30th December. Nothing started til 4th Jan. Why?? 5 days could have shorted this whole shitshow by a hell of a lot. Did it need to be a business day?

You’d have to join Amazon prime and buy a shed load of shit to get vaccinated 🤪

littlepattilou · 07/01/2021 13:39

@Madcats

I think this is his daily vaccine progress update.

The Torygraph says: "The Armed Forces involvement will be spelt out in greater detail at a Downing Street Press Conference at 5pm as Brigadier Phil Prosser, the military lead on vaccines, is due to appear alongside the Prime Minister and Sir Simon Stevens, chief executive of NHS England".

Whenever I hear of a brigadier doing a press conference alongside the Prime Minister I immediately think of some of the old Dr Who episodes.

Anyone else starting to feel like hes a toddler you've put to bed but keeps getting up.
Sorry to buck the trend everyone. It's not compulsory to tune in. There's plenty of choice now. I'm sure there will be a something of interest on another channel.

The press questions were always fairly infantile with Kay Burley and Beth Rigby. Pity Pesston wasn't invited to the birthday bash.

Oh FGS lighten up why dontcha 🙄

People are only having a laugh. Allow us that in these grim and dark covid times! Bet you're a hoot at parties! Wink

PhilCornwall1 · 07/01/2021 13:45

And people will fall for it - and we'll get someone on here again demanding we don't call him Boris and the smoke and mirrors shall continue.

How dare you call him Boris!! You should address him:

"His Excellency, Prime Minister for Life, Lord of all the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of Britain Boris Johnson"

As befits the tosser.

To be honest I preferred the first series of Daily Briefing. It’s got worse every series for me.

So much waffling . I wait a few minutes and just read it on live news feed

That is one thing you can say for the man. He's got a sense of humour, he does not have sticks inserted in inconvenient places, and he'd probably find this thread quite amusing.

MrsFezziwig · 07/01/2021 14:00

My heart sank when I saw the thread title but the content has properly cheered me up (apart from the odd mardyarse) so thanks for that.

If C J Cregg is going to be doing the daily briefings I’m definitely on board.
