What now?!

OP posts:

@PuzzledObserver

"The Armed Forces involvement will be spelt out in greater detail at a Downing Street Press Conference at 5pm as Brigadier Phil Prosser, the military lead on vaccines,"

I hope he's the slightly tasty one who appeared at a briefing several months ago. Decidedly silver foxy - bored woman of a certain age fighting Covid fatigue would be glad of the diversion.

Sorry, he looks like a chipmunk.

Sorry to buck the trend everyone. It's not compulsory to tune in. There's plenty of choice now. I'm sure there will be a something of interest on another channel.

Oh FGS lighten up why dontcha 🙄

People are only having a laugh. Allow us that in these grim and dark covid times! Bet you're a hoot at parties! Wink[/quote]
Didn't realize this was a private little working from home get together.

You should stick a no entry sign up or sumut.

I think the government need to understand that multiple press conferences are causing anxiety at the moment. Giving us 'updates' to make us feel fluffy and warm are not having quite the desired effect.
passporttohell · 07/01/2021 14:19

Yes, I agree, it is constantly causing anxiety.

Plus the vaccine updates - I only know one person who has had it and they are frontline NHS treating hundreds of Covid patients every day (on a ward, not ICU, so no proper PPE).
I worry if I have left my phone upstairs now in case the GPs are calling me in for a last minute slot. I worry about how I'll be feeling in a year's time still waiting for their call.

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 14:22

So who is the PM all the moaners suggests for the role?

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 14:24

Also, I will dig the many post about Boris not communicating. Ffs!

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2021 14:26

If the press conferences give you anxiety then give them a miss.

I like being updated-better source of info than MN that's for sure.

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 14:27

And god forbid he dares to take a break!

blueangel19 · 07/01/2021 14:30

People in the UK would not last long in most countries. The things they moan about are insane.

BigWoollyJumpers · 07/01/2021 14:30

Oxford vaccine was approved 30th December. Nothing started til 4th Jan. Why?? 5 days could have shorted this whole shitshow by a hell of a lot. Did it need to be a business day?

Because PHE/NHS/Civil Service don't work weekends or bank holidays. PHE is and has been the main culprit for most of the issues we have had since March. They are not fit for purpose.

Delta1 · 07/01/2021 14:32

Best comment on lad bible during last briefing - 'why has Boris brushed his hair with a toffee apple?'

starfishmummy · 07/01/2021 14:32

I dont mind a daily update but would prefer him to delegate so at least we dont get the waffle and can actually work out what they have said!

Iheartmysmart · 07/01/2021 14:35

Matt Hancock was stood outside a GP surgery promoting the vaccine, however the surgery hadn’t actually received their delivery - it had been pushed back 24 hours and is arriving today. The surgery said they could vaccinate 500 people a day so that’s quite a few people who could have had their first jab but haven’t.

Alas mummy, I need a drink. But I do have full confidence in the Secretary of State for Health, mummy.

He said today would be an update on vaccines.

skodadoda · 07/01/2021 14:54

@Lovaduck74

Don't fret, he only gives us really bad news at 8pm!
You’re so right 😂
stoneysongs · 07/01/2021 14:55

Can't watch the press conferences and finding it increasingly difficult to even look at photos of BJ, I think it's mainly the lips 🤮
But also everything he says.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 07/01/2021 14:58

Update is that they've modified some machine gun type weaponry and will be going into schools , hospitals and home bargains firing vaccinations at will into the crowds
