Just been announced. What this time?

OP posts:
xmasfairybuns · 21/12/2020 18:23

@ancientgran

Do MNHQ not object to us discussing the PM's sexual preferences?

I'd like to agree with you but RelightMyPfizer has explained it is Port. Xmas Wink

I know it's port, I have some in the cupboard but I chose to ignore that in the interests of a laugh Grin

Never let reality get in the way of a bit of fun.

SimonJT · 21/12/2020 18:23

@SoscaredforJan

Did he say anything about schools going back or not next term? I’m too anxious to watch it.
He said

“Erm, er, well, oh, very important, erm, children yes, education er, absolutely erm, yes yes”

kittensarecute · 21/12/2020 18:24

@SixesAndEights

Personally I was thinking things might be better by next Easter, but now he's said it, I doubt it will be.
It has to be, it just has to 😥
Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/12/2020 18:26

Macrons not with his wife at the moment. He doesn't want to kill granny

Duuuhhh - just got the granny reference
Clearly I'm being dense slow on the uptake today Wink

FlappingPancakes · 21/12/2020 18:26

that's all to do with vaccine roll out (no matter what the virus is doing)

as long as the vaccine is working, then there's no reason why Easter new normal isn't achievable

DecemberDiana · 21/12/2020 18:27

He's got the covid on his birthday and a phone call with Bojo. Hélas!

TeenageMutantNinjaCovid · 21/12/2020 18:30

“Erm, er, well, oh, very important, erm, children yes, education er, absolutely erm, yes yes”

He said Kids- repeatedly.

He wants the baby goats to access education (Not school but education)

nosswith · 21/12/2020 18:30

Patrick Vallance acknowledged more areas are likely to be in tier 4 at some point and case numbers are expected to rise. We know the number of lorries stuck on the M20. We were reminded of it being Monsieur Macron's birthday.

We really learnt nothing else.

TeenageMutantNinjaCovid · 21/12/2020 18:30

75% of country will still be unvaccinated on the very best predictions.
nosswith · 21/12/2020 18:32

@Puzzledandpissedoff interesting that we poke fun at the Macrons with a 24 year age gap who have been married for 13 years, not Mr Johnson and his fiancee, with the same age gap.

snowisfallingallaroundus · 21/12/2020 18:34

Totally

No, not 'new normal,' none of that crap. I'll have the normal i had before, thanks.
xmasfairybuns · 21/12/2020 18:35

@nevernotstruggling

1st hint the schools may not go back...
What did he say? I couldn't face watching it so I went to play my piano instead.
CremeEggThief · 21/12/2020 18:37

Well said, @WeatherwaxOn.

itsgettingweird · 21/12/2020 18:43

@AaronPurr

I dont have any faith that Kier could do much better. Every day he is just berating Bojo about everything and demanding he fixes everything.

If the roles were reversed I suspect Boris would be doing exactly the same.

Agree. That's the role of the leader of the opposition.

And it's accepted PMQs is usually Willy waving and bit of a pantomine atmosphere.

But it's gone beyond that. KS is ridiculed for challenging BJ. He's beyond pantomine and boarders onto just vile.

Then does what KS suggested in the first place - but Alas - it's "with a heavy heart"

Yes, especially as Boris was married with 4 children and then left his wife, when she had cancer, to go after Carrie.

And also had the police called to a domestic (involving Carrie) in the course of this.

itsgettingweird · 21/12/2020 18:45

@Gobacktothe90s

Boris hair!
He looks like he's lost large chunks.

I imagine it's stress.

itsgettingweird · 21/12/2020 18:52

@MrsWooster

He just said “in education” rather than ‘in school’. *@noelgiraffe* you were right (again)
I picked up on the in education and too soon to say schools will open.
SixesAndEights · 21/12/2020 18:52

Hope he's bald by Feb.

InsanityRocks · 21/12/2020 18:56

Quite.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/12/2020 18:57

Oh, but some of us have ... though admittedly not on this particular thread Wink

WotWouldCJDo · 21/12/2020 19:02

I was surprised that, alas, non of the journalists picked up on both BJ and GS stating that only 20% of our EU trade has been impacted by these manned lorries not being able to cross the border. That surely means that the situation will be 80% worse in the event of a no deal in 11 days?

I don’t quite get this point, is it just a slip with percentages?

cantdothisnow1 · 21/12/2020 19:09

I don’t quite get this point, is it just a slip with percentages?

What I mean is that GS was banging on about how the Brexit measures in Kent meant that there was little disruption at the border (in terms of Lorry blockages). But he went on to state that the only freight that is prevented is manned lorries leaving from the port of Dover which accounts for only 20% of UK freight that goes to the UK (the other freight therefore goes by other means).

If, as it is likely, there is a no deal Brexit then the other 80% of freight will presumably be impacted too.

Therefore stating that things are OK now because of Brexit plans doesn't mean that they will be in 10 days time because there is a lot of Freight that isn't impacted by the covid problem.

WotWouldCJDo · 21/12/2020 19:42

Thank you @cantdothisnow1, very clear. So the point is, it’s all very well saying only 20% of freight is effected, but come Brexit, it’ll also include the other 80% of freight (or the lorry problem will be 400% worse than it was today).

SunshineCake · 21/12/2020 19:42

I'm pretty sure Boris left his wife before she had cancer.

I think it has been obvious for a while that all schools won't be going back January 4th.

Most people are capable of making their own decisions if you don't like what the government is saying, however you have to follow the rules.
