Just been announced. What this time?

OP posts:
PhilCornwall1 · 21/12/2020 17:42

@Puzzledandpissedoff

Boris the dominatrix!! Pass me the mind bleach!!!

I thought that was Macron's wife? You know, standing over him with her cane while he dresses as the schoolboy he was when he met her - little schoolboy cap, falling down socks and all?

Come to think of it, pass that mind bleach? Wink

Macrons not with his wife at the moment. He doesn't want to kill granny. 😩
Thimbleberries · 21/12/2020 17:42

At first, the BBC news app mis-typed the journalists question as saying that Boris always 'overdelivered and underpromised', and I was astonished at how anyone could think that.

They swiftly corrected it and now it's right.

Frazzled2207 · 21/12/2020 17:42

What a colossal anti climax

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/12/2020 17:43

Macrons not with his wife at the moment. He doesn't want to kill granny

Ah, didn't know that ... so he's kind of in detention is he? Wink

GlacindaTheTroll · 21/12/2020 17:43

@SixesAndEights

"Kent Resilience Forum"
twinned with the Tooting Popular Front?
PandemicPavolova · 21/12/2020 17:43

His hair looked markedly different in texture... Very soft and shiny. He looked smarter today, almost like he's had a big night of it and his pals have washed and dressed him for the press.

He looks deeply rattled and that doesn't surprise me. His body language on the over promise and under deliver comment!

SixesAndEights · 21/12/2020 17:43

What I took from that is:

They've been preparing for No Deal so the airfield just got used early
Kent is a mess
Cases are going to skyrocket after Christmas
No idea if this new strain just moves faster or it's deadlier
Chaos coming in a few days

WotWouldCJDo · 21/12/2020 17:44

Not bee-ur? Good point, that is closer. Perhaps "Be-uh" is even more accurate.

willsantausesantatize · 21/12/2020 17:44

Beer , it's a pint of ' pigs ear ' here!

Iamaweirdone · 21/12/2020 17:44

Has the U.K. had a second delivery of vaccinations yet does anyone know?

PandemicPavolova · 21/12/2020 17:45

Sixes.. To add.. But come what may, teachers and pupils will be going into schools.

PhilCornwall1 · 21/12/2020 17:45

His hair looked markedly different in texture... Very soft and shiny.

Head and Shoulders. It smells delicious!!!

GroundAlmonds · 21/12/2020 17:45

Manston airfield used to be a regular rave venue in the early 90s. I can’t shake the image of lorry drivers pulling up, putting on the electro-trance and climbing down with their glow sticks and their water bottles and going for it.

RedToothBrush · 21/12/2020 17:46

Macrons not with his wife at the moment. He doesn't want to kill granny

OuCH!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 21/12/2020 17:46

@Iamaweirdone

I don’t think you are supposed to ask that question.
RedToothBrush · 21/12/2020 17:47

@Iamaweirdone

If they have vaccinated 500,000 people so far they must be pretty confident as they had 800,000 doses (enough for 400,000 people).

Unless they fuck that up too.

CremeEggThief · 21/12/2020 17:47

Ear and Air sound exactly the same to me as well. So, beer the way I hear and say it is most like bair. I think. Maybe!🤔

@GroundAlmonds, I'll stand you a pint of Guinness for your correct guess!😆

willsantausesantatize · 21/12/2020 17:47

Alas alas alas.
Life is just awful for so many people and it's doom and gloom on the news but those two ( shapps and Boris) didn't seem at all bothered , did they?
That's what I took from that. Maybe it was meant to cheer us up a bit ?
It was weird.

GroundAlmonds · 21/12/2020 17:49

@GroundAlmonds, I'll stand you a pint of Guinness for your correct guess!😆

Lovely. If you live in Ireland you’d better post it, though. Grin

Butterymuffin · 21/12/2020 17:49

I missed it to go and post things. So he really said nothing new?

It makes me despair. That thread about whether he's the worst PM ever shows you why the Tories are still polling near 40%. Full of people saying 'it's an unprecedented situation, I don't think anyone else would do any better'. A random person picked from the post office queue would do better! As just three reasons why, they would almost certainly have normal hair, would have sacked Cummings in May, and wouldn't have given loads of contracts to their unqualified rich pals.

RhubarbTea · 21/12/2020 17:50

I thought BoJo looked really haggard and worried, like he'd been up all night. And agree about the hair.
It was a bit boring so I switched off half way through.

Iamaweirdone · 21/12/2020 17:50

That’s what I’m worried about

nether · 21/12/2020 17:51

I don’t think you are supposed to ask that question

One of the reporters asked, but got a load of waffle that didn't answer the question.

And I git a bit cross because he said that one of the categories which was receiving the vaccine already was the exceptionally vulnerable, and no the CEV sodding aren't. CEV is priority 4 and only 1&2 are getting it so far. Waffling too far, and making it a bit too obvious that it's word soup not an actual answer

I did however like Vallence's answer when he stated clearly that decisions on tiers were not the responsibility of the scientific advisers

SixesAndEights · 21/12/2020 17:52

Being serious for a moment, you might have thought they'd mention the fact that the EU has closed its borders to us, as has much of the rest of the world, and how that might progress over the next few days.

Circumlocutious · 21/12/2020 17:52

It pisses me off too. The Tories' failings are always depoliticized, as though they're somehow occurring by accident.
